Parking developments at our hospitals

20 January 2026
We’ve got a few changes coming up across our sites in the next few weeks We’ll keep you updated as best we can
If you ’ re travelling in, please use the Park & Ride wherever possible It’s still the easiest way to get to work and helps keep things running smoothly for everyone
Solar canopy works at PRH
We are preparing the PRH site to start work on our solar panel car park canopy – following funding received from Great British Energy Please be aware that from 6pm on Friday 23 January the top deck of the staff car park near the Women and Children’s centre will close for initial works Work will then take place in phases from Monday 26 January – throughout the course of installation different sections of the car park will be closed Once work is complete in March and the canopy has been installed, all spaces will be reinstated on the top deck car park

To support this work, we are creating additional gravel spaces for colleagues near the Ironbridge Suite (Shown in red on the map above) We expect all these spaces to be complete by the beginning of February, with some being available by the end of January
Long-term investment at RSH
We know that parking continues to be a concern for colleagues, particularly with the large volume of construction currently underway at RSH Long term we are working on a number of solutions to improve this and maximise our estate as much as possible This includes: Opening a near-by offsite car park on Mytton Oak Road with a mixture of staff and contractor parking, providing approximately 200 additional spaces Working to open 80 spaces at the front of the site near the Copthorne building in Spring for staff
In the coming months, we will also be demolishing some of our older estate near Stretton House to make more car parking space which will provide 60 additional spaces

An update on parking at Sentinel Park

Following the move of RSH Pre Op and other teams to Sentinel Park we wanted to share information with you on how to park and access the site Staff with a valid parking permit can park at Sentinel Park The barrier will raise automatically for you Please only park in a designated NHS staff parking spaces Spaces are limited onsite, so please consider using some of the alternatives detailed below

In addition to the 40 spaces available on the Sentinel Park site, Morrisons have kindly agreed for staff to park in their car park Please only park in the area highlighted in green below, this will provide an additional 60 spaces (the Autoglass Unit currently in that zone will be removed soon) Please do not use the area highlighted red as this is their click and collect zone and parking area most used by their customers It is then just a short walk to Sentinel Park, where staff will need to show their ID badge to gain entry

Arriva are also offering a discounted price to SaTH staff for Services 24 and 25 departing from Harlescott Park & Ride, which runs every 15 minutes More information about the offer can be found on the intranet
Patients visiting Sentinel Park will need to use the intercom at the barrier, where they will show their appointment letter to gain entry.
