Monday

message

Dear colleague, Hello my name is Louise Barnett and I am your new CEO. I am delighted to have joined SaTH and today is my first day. I am really excited to be here. Today and over coming months, I am going to be out and about across the organisation. I am hoping to meet as many of you as possible, so please do come over and say hello. You may remember what it is like to be new? You will know way more than I do about SaTH and I am keen to listen and learn from you. I’d like to work with you to find out about what we can do to improve the experience of the people who use our hospitals. Your views matter to me so please do tell me: What are you proud of? What are your ideas for improvements to care and services? How can we make the Trust the very best place to work? I will let you know how you can share this in my next message. I will need your help to achieve positive change. The challenges facing us are not a secret and we need to tackle these together, as a team. I have met a small number of you already and it is clear to me that we have some great people. I look forward to meeting and hearing from many more of you. I want to be visible across the Trust, something I think is important for leaders at all levels of the organisation. You’ll find that I tend to go about things calmly and with a positive approach. I am proud to be here and proud to be part of the NHS. People are at the heart of the NHS - our patients, our communities, the population we serve, and you, our colleagues.

Together with you, I will be working with the Executive Team, our Board of Directors and local healthcare partners, to drive forward our improvement work. Our aim is that every person and family has the very best patient experience every time, and that this Trust is a fantastic place to work. I have spent some time with Paula Clark prior to starting and I am looking forward to building on the progress you have made. Prior to starting at SaTH, I was the Chief Executive at The Rotherham NHS -Foundation Trust, having joined them as interim Chief Executive in October 2013, before being appointed to the permanent position in April 2014. I have held a number of NHS board positions, including Interim Chief Executive, and Director of Human Resources and Organisational Development at Peterborough and Stamford Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and Non-Executive Director at Sherwood Forest Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. I hope you have enjoyed my first Monday Message. I know this is something that Paula Clark started when she joined as Interim Chief Executive last July and it is something I am keen to continue. I am excited to be joining you at SaTH. It’s a real privilege to be in this role, and with that comes responsibility. I look forward to meeting you and look forward to your support as we move the Trust forward together. I’d like to encourage you to use our My SaTH App and you will see this message on there today. With best wishes Louise
