HTP Together Newsletter
Issue 2: 29 June 2026
Welcome to the second edition of our HTP Together newsletter

As we continue planning and preparing for 2028 as an organisation, it was incredibly encouraging to spend time with colleagues across PRH in April We visited a range of teams across the hospital, shared building plans, and had valuable discussions with colleagues about the future.
Having open conversations early and often is one of the best ways we can all feel more prepared for the changes ahead It is equally important for the HTP team to hear your thoughts and ideas It was particularly positive to hear colleagues already thinking about how they would like to work in the new environment and how day-to-day activity could operate within the building - especially in Neonatology, where we could easily have spent the whole day discussing the plans
We also recognise that, in some areas, there is still uncertainty We are committed to continuing conversations with colleagues at all levels to openly discuss what HTP means for different teams While we may not have every answer yet, starting these discussions now gives us the opportunity to put the right support in place ahead of any change If you have ideas, big or small, about how we can better support colleagues through this journey, we would really value hearing from you.

In this edition, we are pleased to introduce a new HTP colleague toolkit This will be a live resource that develops and grows as we move closer to 2028 We will also be sharing more information about our Move Champions and responding to feedback we have received from colleagues over recent months
Thank you.

Move Champions
In the coming months, we will be looking to identify ‘Move Champions’ for each team impacted by the clinical moves as part of HTP They will act as crucial frontline leaders who facilitate communication, train staff on new workflow and equipment, and ensure patient safety during the move days
Key responsbilities
Acting as the primary liaison between HTP project managers and frontline clinical teams to ensure consistent messaging Leading training sessions, mock moves, and simulations to prepare staff for the new environment
Ensuring patient safety is the top priority during the move, verifying equipment, and communicating changes to families. Providing on-the-spot support during the move to resolve issues and offering post-move support
Move Champions will be nominated by managers for each area impacted by the clinical moves as part of HTP
Seating focus group
On Tuesday 23 June, we welcomed colleagues and members of the public to a focus group to help evaluate seating options for the waiting areas within the new building at Royal Shrewsbury Hospital
Four suppliers of hospital waiting area seating were invited to showcase sample products, giving participants the opportunity to assess the options and share their views The feedback gathered during the session will play an important role in informing the procurement of seating for the new hospital building A huge thank you to everyone who took the time to attend and provide valuable feedback
Looking forward

The next edition of the newsletter will focus on inventory and stocktake of equipment ready for 2028.
