Introduction We are introducing the Volunteer Learning Passport into our volunteer training programme to support you in your learning journey, whether you are a new or experienced volunteer.

This nationally recognised programme provides e-learning modules to enable you to feel confident in your volunteering role. It also allows the Trust to provide consistent training as well as recognising the vital role that our volunteers play.

The content is free to access but registration is required. You will be able to create an account and complete mandatory and optional modules to enhance your volunteering skills and knowledge.

You can track learning, provide feedback on sessions, and retain certificates of completion. You MUST send all certificates to the Volunteer Team before you start your placement/role to confirm you have completed the course.

The following sessions are available in the Volunteer Learning Passport: 1. Communications for Volunteers 2. Conflict Resolution for Volunteers 3. Data Security Awareness for Volunteers 4. Equality, Diversity and Human Rights for Volunteers 5. Fire Safety for Volunteers 6. Health, Safety and Infection Prevention and Control for Volunteers [updated COVID-19] 7. Mental Health Awareness for Volunteers 8. Moving and Assisting for Volunteers 9. Preventing Radicalisation (Basic Awareness) for Volunteers 10. Roles and Responsibilities of a Volunteer [updated COVID-19] 11. Safeguarding Adults for Volunteers 12. Safeguarding Children for Volunteers 13. Child Sexual Exploitation for Volunteers 14. Fluids and Nutrition for Volunteers 15. Resuscitation (Basic Life Support) for Volunteers [updated COVID-19]

You must complete all mandatory modules (highlighted in bold in the list above) BEFORE you begin your volunteer placement.

Existing volunteers will have a period of time to complete all training modules.

How to access the ELearning for Healthcare platform 1. Click on this link http://volunteers.e-lfh.org.uk

2. Click on ‘Register’.

NB. If you already have an account with e-LfH, then you can enrol on to the Volunteer Learning Passport programme by logging in to the e-LfH Hub, selecting My Account > Enrolment and selecting the programme. You can then access the programme immediately in the My e-Learning section. (Skip to section

3. Input your email address into both boxes. Then click ‘Register’.

4. Select ‘I am an active volunteer or I am interested in volunteering’. Then click ‘Continue’.

5. Fill out your Registration Details ensuring all mandatory fields (highlighted in red below) are completed.

6. You will then be sent an email to verify your new account, it will also contain your username and temporary password. Please check your emails and click on the link within.

7. The link will take you to the following page where you will be asked read and accept the Terms and Conditions by clicking ‘I accept these Terms and Conditions’.

8. You will then be guided through some security questions to secure your account. Please choose 2 security questions from the drop down list and type in your answers. Then click ‘Save Security Questions’.

9. Finally, click ‘Complete Registration’.

Congratulations, you are now registered with an Elearning Account!

Navigating the Elearning Portal

This is your Home Page. From here, you can access modules, account details, activity records and more:

To access the Volunteer Learning Passport Modules, click on the Volunteer Learning Passport icon.

Elearning Guide 2020

This is where you will find a list of modules. Some of these modules are mandatory. These will need to be completed before you can begin your volunteer placement. Please refer to the Module Checklist on Page 13 to see which modules are mandatory and optional.

To the right of the module title, you will see these three icons: Star – click this icon to mark a module as a favourite to make it stand out.

Certificate – when you complete a module this icon turns yellow, click on it to download your certificate.

Information – click on this symbol to find out more about the module.

To access a module, click on the module title:

Click on ‘Play’ to start the module – this will create a pop out window, make sure your computer allows this function.

Follow the instructions within this section to complete the module.

Each module ends with a ‘Knowledge Quiz’, you must pass this quiz in order to gain your module certificate.

How to access your certificates 1. Once you have completed a module, return to the my Elearning page and click on ‘Volunteer Learning Passport’.

2. This will bring you back to you list of modules. Click on the icon next to the module title to download your certificate.

3. Save your ceritificate in a safe place on your computer.

4. Create a new email and attach the certificate to the email.

5. Send your certificate it to the Volunteer Team via sath.members@nhs.net.
