A regal lunch menu, a jubilee flag fluttering, our hospital buildings lit up and goody bags for children on Ward 19 are all part of the celebrations to mark the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee here at SaTH.
Ron and Dianne Morgan, of the Dreamcatcher Children Charity, visited Ward 19 earlier this week to hand over 36 jubilee goody bags to youngsters. The children were thrilled to receive their jubilee bags, which included a souvenir jubilee book, colouring book, teddy and water bottle. Thank you so much Ron and Dianne, who used to work on the ward. A special jubilee light switch-on will be taking place at PRH at 1pm today. One of our patients from the Children's Ward will be switching the lights on and all colleagues are invited to join the event. Thank you to our catering colleagues who have prepared a regal lunch in celebration of the Queen’s 70 years on the throne – this is available to all colleagues in the Mytton and Apley restaurants today (1 June). There will be/was a choice of
Joey, six, and Marnie Hogan, two, loved their jubilee goody bags which they received from Dianne and Ron Morgan chicken breast with forest mushrooms and asparagus, glazed roast bacon with a syrup baked pineapple crown, royal garden basket quiche with beetroot, butternut squash and goat’s cheese and baked salmon – followed by Queen of Hearts trifle. A jubilee-themed menu will be available for our patients on Thursday (2 June). Look out for jubilee-themed cakes and biscuits (kindly donated by SaTH Charity) being delivered to our wards for
colleagues working over the bank holiday weekend. Thank you to colleagues in Estates and Facilities who have helped to put up jubilee bunting in our Captain Tom’s Courtyard and Garden and a jubilee flag near SECC at RSH. Our hospital buildings will also be lit up with the Jubilee logo for the duration of the bank holiday. Thank you to everyone working over the Jubilee Bank Holiday.
