What a (n)ice way to celebrate Colleagues across SaTH have been treated to ice creams and other goodies as part of celebration days for a number of professions that help make up the NHS. Organised to coincide with the national and international recognition days for midwives, nurses and ODPs, two ice cream vans were commissioned by SaTH Charity to visit RSH and PRH - dishing out almost 2,000 ice creams to staff, students and volunteers at the Trust. Clare Walsgrove, who was responsible for the organisation, said: “Each year we want to recognise these important days of recognition. We organised something for each of the days, as well as doing something for all staff too with the ice cream vans. We thought it might be tricky because of the COVID-19 restrictions, but everything went really well.” Julia Clarke, Director of Corporate Services, said: “We are very proud of our staff and we know how hard they have been working and wanted to recognise and say thank you to all staff. SaTH Charity funded the cost of the ice creams through its Small Things Make a Big Difference Fund, which is supported through things like the staff lottery and patients and relatives donating to support staff.” SaTH Charity also got out and about in the evening to make sure night staff were also included in the celebrations.
