Emma Molyneux, of Shrewsbury BID, said: “It’s been a difficult year for everyone but particularly for those working on the frontline. It’s important to recognise the commitment and extraordinary efforts of NHS staff during this period and we have the opportunity to say thank you. “Lighting up Shrewsbury Railway Station is an appropriate way to do this, and we are delighted to partner Shropshire Council in this very special tribute.” Julia Clarke, Director of Corporate Services, said: “Lighting up the railway station in blue is a great way of paying tribute to the hard work that these, and all the other professions within the NHS, are continuing to deliver as we come out of the third Lockdown, and certainly the worst wave of the pandemic so far.”
