The SATA air vision 5000 puts the focus on effective health protection and lets you experience a whole new and comfortable way of breathing, due to a completely re-designed breathing air supply system. With its modern, ergonomic design, the hood can be adapted to fit almost any head shape, allowing the individual adjustment of its effective circumference, height and position.
SAFETY
A minimum of 6 to 15 cfm of technically clean compressed air, e.g. supplied from a SATA filter 584, ensures the slight positive pressure inside the hood, in order to securely prevent over spray and contaminants from penetrating. When the air volume falls below the required minimum threshold, an acoustic warning signal will be activated.
COMFORT
The new method of breathing air distribution inside the hood optimizes the air consumption and reduces the noise level to 64 dB(A). This way, working with personal protection equipment becomes exceptionally comfortable. An optionally available plug-in diffuser allows an alternative air flow inside the hood and the large, low-reflection visor shield offers a very generous field of vision. To ensure perfect wearer comfort, the hood can be adapted in circumference, height and position to fit almost any head shape. The comfort band cushioning the forehead can be mounted in just a few seconds –keeping the hood hygienically clean and comfortable at all times.
PRACTICAL
The modular design allows the adaptation and upgrade of the new belt unit according to the job requirements. Users, for instance, have now the choice to mount the air regulation unit either on the right or on the left of the belt unit. The same applies to the second available belt option, the activated charcoal adsorber incl. regulation. Useful accessories, such as the new SATA air warmer/cooler can be easily connected to the belt unit according to individual needs. Additionally, the SATA air warmer carbon has been developed as an option especially for the SATA air carbon regulator.

The SATA vision 2000 offers maximum protection when processing paint materials. Monitoring Air for Carbon Monoxide (CO)
Carbon monoxide is an odorless, colorless, highly poisonous gas caused by partial combustion. Combustion does not take place in a compressor. Yet an overheated compressor could convert lubricating oil to carbon monoxide, or contaminated air could be drawn into the compressor intake from an outside environment.
X288 SENTINEL
The Model X288 Carbon Monoxide (CO) Monitor and Alarm is a battery operated instrument that can be surface mounted on or near the outer wall of a paint booth or other position as close as possible to the air supply (within the temperature range of -4 F to 122 F). The X767 is an AC powered Carbon Monoxide Monitor with LCD readout for larger shops or shops that require remote alarms. The units give an audible (85db @ 3ft) and visual alarm at 10 ppm. Air sample tubing connects the monitor to the filter unit. CO Monitor Accessories
Over time the CO sensor becomes less sensitive with age making it necessary to re-calibrate the monitor. Calibration kits contain test gas, tubing with flow meter and regulator. Today’s painters want to protect themselves so that they can do the job longer and be healthier.
A shop’s air system is the heart of the operation. The compressor feeds all the technicians in the facility, and for most of us, we couldn’t do our job without it.
The quality of the compressed air that the painter is breathing must meet CSA Standard Z180. Clause 14.3 standards (Grade D breathable air in the United States).
Our SATA three-stage filtration provides 100% clean, breathable air. However, there is a one final component necessary to protect the painter and to be CSA and National Standards compliant, and that is a Carbon Monoxide Monitor.
CSA allowable breathing air means it meets specific purity levels measured in ppm (parts per million). These purity requirements focus on contaminants that are harmful to humans: carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide, oil, particulates, and condensates as well as other and limiting characteristics.
Provincial governments are taking a more proactive approach to enforcing guidelines for compressed breathing air – CSA Z180.1:19. Violations of allowable concentrations and carbon monoxide monitoring can lead to substantial fines and the shop being shut down until being made compliant.

CSA Z180.1:19 Canadian standards state that all compressed air breathing systems that use oil or any other lubrication shall be continuously monitored for carbon monoxide to make sure the CO level does not exceed the allowable limit of < 5 mL/m3 (ppm)*.
In-line CO monitoring systems shall have an audible and visual alarm set to 5 ppm*.
So, somewhere in the compressed air system a CO monitor must be present for the detection of carbon monoxide. Both an audible alarm and strobe alarm warns the technicians to remove themselves from the compressed air system.
Fatalities have happened when a CO monitor was not present, due to compressor fires, poorly maintained compressors and intake air contamination. While most compressors don’t inherently produce CO, external factors like an idling delivery truck near the compressor intake can introduce dangerous exhaust into the air system.
This contaminated air can travel through the system undetected, posing serious health risks to technicians.
SATA Canada offers two reliable solutions:
•X288 Sentinel – Ideal for smaller shops or single-user setups. Mounts outside the booth near the door with a built-in alarm.
•X767 Plus – Recommended for larger facilities with multiple techs using supplied air. Integrates directly into the compressed air line.
Both models provide accurate, CSA and National rules-compliant CO detection and require calibration every six months for optimal performance—though more frequent calibration improves accuracy.
SATA also offers CO monitor accessories, including alarms with 85-120 decibels and strobe light alarm.

The SATA® filter 500 enables a higher absorption of contaminations and enhanced durability due to the optimized position of the charcoal filter and is available with three different filter stages. Changing the filter is simple and straightforward and filter maintenance is only necessary every 6 months for all stages.
Compressed air is one of the main sources of energy in paint shops. After being generated in the compressor, the air is fed into the compressed air circuit, whereby impurities such as tiny particles of compressor oil can be carried along right into the spray gun or breathing air. While such impurities are not particularly relevant for many industrial applications, they will inevitably cause coating flaws or pose a health risk in the paint application process. When working with waterborne paint systems, even the tiniest quantities of oil vapors can cause coating flaws, and consequently time-consuming, costly rework. Oil vapors or particles may also enter the respiratory system and cause health issues.
A well functioning compressed air circuit also includes regularly maintained compressed air filter units. To warrant trouble-free operation, a filter unit should be fitted either immediately in front of or directly inside the spray booth. While the SATA filter 544 will be sufficient for
solvent-based paints, the SATA filter 584 is required when applying waterborne paints.
The SATA filter series 500 is available either as a one-stage sintered filter with water and oil separator, as a two-stage combination filter with sintered and fine filter, or as a three-stage filter unit with additional sintered activated charcoal filter.
Every six months, all filter stages are maintained together in a procedure that takes just a few minutes without the need for tools, thanks to the bayonet lock and defined position of the filter cartridges, which are replaced simply by inserting them.
Furthermore, a flow-optimized cyclone separator minimizes pressure drop in the filter system and ensures a constant air flow of approximately 135 cfm.

Along with the 500, the 200 filter series is the most versatile modular filter system currently on the market but at an unbeatable price. The 200 is rated at 72 cfm @ 90 psi, more than adequate for many small shops. Air flow is left to right, which can be converted if needed. SATA filter timer –
Safety at the push of a button
SATA equips all filter units with the SATA filter timers to remind users to regularly change the filter cartridges.
Handling the SATA filter timer is as easy as:
1. When a new filter regulator unit is installed, each filter timer must be activated by pressing the button.
2. Once activated, the maintenance interval for the respective filters starts "running". The window gradually changes colour to red during the course of the interval (6 months), corresponding approximately to the saturation progress made during normal use.
3. The filter cartridges must be replaced once the window changes colour to red.

Air quality control – SATA air tester
Another “little helper” from SATA. This practical tool makes it easy for you to detect impurities in the compressed air.
The SATA air tester helps to drastically shorten the search for the cause; within a few seconds it indicates possible residues in the compressed air.
Painting defects cause high rework costs - that is well known. They also disrupt normal operations and annoy customers in the event of delays. Reasons enough to find out the cause of painting errors.
But where is the cause to be found? Often, the only way to find out is to use the process of elimination: This involves checking the individual areas such as compressed air supply, preparation, paint materials and spray guns.
These investigations cost the company valuable working time, and the results of the troubleshooting are not always obvious. The SATA air tester can help shorten the search. It provides immediately usable results for testing the compressed air supply
It is easy to use: the compressed air is blown onto the specially coated surface of the SATA air tester using the air supply from your spray gun or a blow gun. Hold the gun about 5 mm away from the cleaned surface at approximately 29 PSI for 30 seconds.
If paint-damaging substances such as condensate, oil and particles are present in the compressed air, they become visible on the mirrored surface.
When opening the SATA air tester, avoid touching the coated surface if possible. Then clean the air tester with a microfiber cloth and, if necessary, with a cleaner (silicone remover). No residue should be visible on the test surface.
Contaminated compressed air can be caused by an oily compressor, or the pipe network itself or - and this is not uncommon - inadequately maintained compressed air filters. For this reason, SATA recommends regularly checking the quality of the compressed air with the SATA air tester.
