Dear Prospective Students and Families,

Greetings from St. Andrew’s-Sewanee School! We trust that you and all of your family enjoyed a wonderful Holiday break and have hit the ground running in 2025. All of our students are back on campus diving back into the classroom and into their afternoon PEAK programming with a very wide range of offerings that enhance each student’s experience at SAS.

To recap from prior newsletters, we have highlighted the Sewanee Experience and our Outdoor Sports and Adventure Education Program, both of which set SAS apart from other college preparatory schools both

regionally and nationally. Our new mountain biking, climbing, and outdoor education facility will be completed this summer, highlighted on page 10 of our magazine.

Today, I highlight our Fine Arts program where our students and seasoned faculty enjoy amazing programming coupled with superior facilities. Our students excel on the stage with music and theatre, in our visual arts studios, in our recording studio, and within our WMTN radio station. Please gain a wonderful overview of our fine arts programming, class offerings, and facilities here.

At St. Andrew's-Sewanee School, you will discover a world filled with opportunities for not only the seasoned performer or artist, but the beginner, as well. Our most recent magazine nicely highlights our student arts awards on page 12 and captures our performing arts on page 20. If you desire a school experience to enhance, develop, or explore the Arts, rest assured that SAS offers a deep and rich experience for our students, allowing them to achieve their goals and even showcase their talents regionally and nationally.

Setting Us Apart

Please pay careful attention to our facilities in both the performing arts and studio arts as you peruse these links. McCrory Hall provides top-notch performance experience, second to none in exemplifying a first-rate performing arts facility. The same can be said for our studio arts facilities including 3D printing and design, painting, drawing, photography, and a spectacular pottery studio complete with three kilns.

This combination of exemplary professional instruction with superior facilities sets SAS apart from other college preparatory schools. And remember, our students gain additional opportunities with our neighbors at the University of the South to be involved in the University orchestra, dance program, and the theatre; all of which is highlighted in our Sewanee Experience.

Below, you will be reminded of opportunities to come see us, our application deadline, and also discover an invitation to our winter musical, the Lightning Thief: The Percy Jackson Musical. If you are able, please take advantage of this extraordinary opportunity to see our students showcase their talents on the stage and behind the scenes. You will be impressed! Of note, we will host professional performer Kristin Stokes, the original Annabeth Chase in the Broadway offering of the musical, on campus for two days to work with our students prior to the show.
