The Spanish 5 class made a podcast episode during National Hispanic Heritage Month titled Nuestra Herencia Hispana (OurHispanicHeritage).StudentsEmeryPreslar,TobyVandeVen,andKieranMcCrorey interviewed ourinternational studentsCarlota DiezRosety(Spain),Ben Gueikian (Argentina),and Alejandro Miranda (Panama) about art, music, and food. Mr. Ankney edited and submitted the project for the category Best Foreign Language Show at the Intercollegiate Broadcasting Radio Conference in New York City. This awesomegroupofstudentsdidagreatjobandwontheawardforbestinthenation.Congratulations!

BISHOP REYNOLDS FORUM
On March 21, St. Andrew's-Sewanee School hosted the 29th Bishop Reynolds Forum in the Main Hall of McCrory Hall forthe Performing Arts,with a reception to follow in the Green Room.This year's speakerwas The Very Rev.Marcus G.Halley,Chaplain to the College and Dean ofSpiritual and Religious Life atTrinity College. He is a graduate ofJohnson C.Smith University,the Interdenominational Theological Center,and the School of Theology at the University of the South, where he received his S.T.M and D.Min degrees. Known as an engaging speaker, Rev. Halley's presentation was entitled "The Wisdom of Spiritual Wanderers:InterfaithPerspectivesfor(Re)LearningtoDialogueAcrossOurDifferences.''

SPECIAL2024-25 MUSICALREVEAL!
Saint Andrew's Sewanee School's Performing Arts Director, Dr. Will Eyerly, announced the musical as selected by students for the 2024-25 school year in a very unique way. In a J-Block assembly, Dr. Will played a personalized video announcement from Broadway star Kristin Stokes who was the original Annabeth Chase from "The Lightning Thief - The Percy Jackson Musical". After saying hi to Dr. Will and the SAS community, Ms. Stokes announced "The Lightning Thief" as next year's selection. In addition, she revealed that she would be joining the cast and crew for three days during tech week (Thursday, January 23rd, 2025 through Saturday, January 25th, 2025) to workshop the show! "The Lightning Thief - The Percy Jackson Musical" is scheduled for January31st,February1stand2ndnextyear.Markyourcalendarsnow!Itissuretobea"killerquest"!
MELVALSIGNS TOWRESTLE WITH CEDAR CRESTCOLLEGE
Senior Mel Val wrestled the tournament of her life against her competitors at the State tournament on February 16th & 17th. Surrounded by friends, family, coaches, and mentors, wrestler Mel Val signed to wrestle with Cedar Crest College. Signing is a big deal for everyone, but, between Mel's two state championshipsandher100+careerwins,wethinkthisisanespeciallybigdeal forCedarCrest.
We have no doubt she will continue to train hard and wrestle harder at the collegiate level, and they are incredibly lucky to have heras an athlete,a student,and a community member We are so proud ofMel and can'twaittoseewhatsheaccomplishesatCedarCrest
