TWO STUDENTS HEADED TO INTERNATIONAL THESPIAN FESTIVAL AT INDIANA UNIVERSITY

Performing Arts Director Dr. Will Eyerly chartered Troupe #11474 at St. Andrew's-Sewanee School, and for the first time in its long history, SAS is now a member of the International Thespian Society.

Established in 1927, the International Thespian Society (ITS) is the flagship program of the Educational Theatre Association. ITS honors scholarship in core classes with special emphasis on achievement in middle and high school theatre. 2024 STATE SWIMMING CHAMPIONSHIPS

SAS swimmers Jackson Frazier, Sienna Barry, Loulie Frazier, Sarah Russell Leonard, Reese Michaels, and Lara Stahl traveled to Nashville Friday and Saturday, February 9 and 10, for the TISCA State Championships.

WMTN VIDEO CONTEST

In addition to providing almost 35 hours of LIVE DJ-on-the-air-time Monday through Friday, 6-9 am and 1-5 pm, the Radio Broadcasting class recently submitted this video for a contest hosted by the Pacifica Radio Network. On February 6, we received notice that WMTN, The Voice of the Mountain, WON first place! In addition to a $500 gift to a radio supply company, Pacifica, which WMTN is now an affiliate of, plans to following up the win with an interview featuring our incredible DJs.

- Day camps run from May 28 thru June 28. We offer basketball and soccer camps, as well as three full weeks of Camp SAS.

- It's Better Than Camp! is filling up! This unique overnight camp experience runs from July 7-21 and includes two week-long sessions. Kids 11-15 may attend either session or the full two weeks for exceptional summer fun on the Mountain.

Winterim 2024

For one week each winter, the St. Andrew's-Sewanee Community shifts its attention from the regular academic routine to intensive courses of study dedicated to experimental and experiential learning, whether that's out in the woods or out in the world. We call this week, "Winterim."

Winterim gives students AND faculty members an opportunity to collaboratively explore, discover, and nurture their passions. This year, Winterim was February 19th through February 23rd. Course options included, Foraging Wild Food and Art, Knitting Basics, Exploring the Southern Gothic Literary Tradition, Firewood and Chainsaw Maintenance, True Crime and Unsolved Mysteries, Off-Trail Exploring, Board

TRIP TO HOLY TRINITY GREEK ORTHODOX CHURCH

On Sunday, January 28, Father Jarrod Russell, from our very own Sherrill Family, and the entire Holy Trinity community welcomed a group of SAS students to Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church in Nashville.

WE HAVE A STATE WRESTLING CHAMPION!

Senior Mel Val wrestled the tournament of her life against her competitors at the State tournament last weekend. After fighting through a migraine in the first round of the tournament, she had two incredible matches, one against a girl that beat her earlier in the tournament to come out on top at finals on Saturday night.
