We are extremely excited to announce

Monday 19 September to Friday 23 September 2022 A week to focus on making music for thousands of local pupils which is set to enrich our schools with a thrilling array of musical opportunities. Everyone is welcome as we look forward to bringing music to the forefront and heart of schools across Abingdon and Didcot for one week in September. There will be musical performances and workshops in every primary school, involving more than 2000 children and the week will culminate in a massed performance in Abingdon’s Market Square on

Hackney Colliery Band who will be running workshops and giving performances https://www.hackneycollieryband.co.uk/ London’s contemporary answer to the brass bands of the British mining communities. the marching bands of New Orleans and the wedding bands of eastern Europe. They are a ninepiece, playing trumpets, trombones, saxophones and sousaphone,with added percussion, including drum machines, and electronica.

along with :Ollie Tumner from ‘The Beat Goes On’ – former member of STOMP a Busking Takeover, which will see professional musicians and secondary school pupils from across Abingdon performing to parents in playgrounds; the Big Sing project with group singing workshops and professional development materials;
