What is Process Plant Optimization with POSySystem? Process Plant Optimization with POSy-System is a methodology used in the process industry to optimize process plants by improving their efficiency, profitability, and environmental performance. The approach is based on the use of advanced process control (APC) systems and mathematical optimization techniques, which are integrated into a single software platform known as the POSy-System.

The POSy-System is designed to optimize the operation of process plants by continuously analyzing process data, identifying opportunities for improvement, and providing optimal control strategies. The system consists of three main components: process modeling, optimization algorithms, and realtime control.

Process modeling involves the development of mathematical models that represent the behavior of the process plant. These models are used to predict the process behavior under different operating conditions and to identify the critical process parameters that affect plant performance.

Optimization algorithms are used to determine the optimal operating conditions for the process plant, given a set of performance objectives and constraints. These algorithms use mathematical techniques such as linear programming, nonlinear programming, and dynamic optimization to find the best set of operating conditions that maximize performance while meeting all constraints.
