URBAN HOUSING PROPOSED DEVELOPMENT OF RESIDENTIAL MIX AT KHARGHAR NODE IN NAVI MUMBAI
The aim of the project was to design mixed used residential housing which suffices the current demand for housing that provides flexibility for adapting to work from Home,spatial distancing and provide green open spaces to live in. It is to provide efficient design which adapts to the changes with respect to people needs while at the same time keeping in mind the climate,social and economic fabric of the region.

The site is a vacant plot in kharghar earmarked for commercial development. It is accessible from roads on two sides of which one side overlooks the Central Park, a well developed recreational city park in the Navi Mumbai.

Appropriate openings to ensure cross ventilation Over concretization should be avoided to allow water percolation Building materials used should not be affected by humidity.
The site receives wind prominently from west direction Due to high humidity, proper ventilation system should be provided. More openings should be provided on the north and east side.
Soil: Clay (fertile & high water retention capacity)
Permeable paver blocks : Space between the bricks allows grass to grow and help rainwater to seep into the ground.

INVISIBLE CITIES
Invisible Cities is a novel by Italian writer Italo Calvino. The book explores imagination and the imaginable through the descriptions of cities by an explorer, Marco Polo as a conversation between the elderly and busy emperor Kublai Khan.Each city Described has it’s unique characteristics.
Fedora,is a gray stone metropolis,where stands a metal building(Fedoras Museum) with a crystal globe in every room. Looking into each globe, you see a blue city,the model of a different Fedora. In every age someone, looking at Fedora as it was,imagined a way of making it the ideal city, but while he constructed his miniature model, Fedora was already no longer the same as before, and what had been until yesterday a possible future became only a toy in a glass globe.
Based on the city we were given,we had to critically think,analyze and propose architectural design solutions that we thought was needed in the city for better functioning.Along with the given programme we had to design public spaces that carried the essence of the story given to us.
