All we are and all we have are God’s gifts. From the very beginning, God calls us to steward those gifts for the good of God’s people and God’s world. Jesus shows us the way—caring for the most vulnerable and inviting us to serve with our time, resources, and lives.

Generosity is a spiritual practice. Like prayer and worship, it isn’t a one-time event but an ongoing rhythm that grows our gratitude and aligns our hearts with God’s call. As we give our time, talents, and treasures, God uses that practice to transform us— and our community.

WHY PLEDGE?

Practically Speaking: A pledge is your estimate of giving for the year. It funds everything we do together as a community of faith — worship, music, children’s formation, youth ministry, adult discipleship, pastoral care, outreach, and the facilities that support it all.

Spiritually Speaking: A pledge is more than a financial estimate — it is a faith commitment. Pledging transforms generosity from an occasional act into a spiritual practice, like prayer or worship. Each pledge, whether large or small, is a way of rooting ourselves in Christ and growing together in faith and service.

Our giving is never about money alone — it’s about lives being changed. Together, we grow in faith, strengthen our community, and extend God’s love to our neighbors. When each of us makes a commitment, Sardis can thrive and expand its impact.

HOW MUCH SHOULD I PLEDGE? There is no “right” amount to pledge. Each pledge is personal, prayerful, and meaningful — no matter the size.

Some households tithe (10% of income), but we recognize that not everyone is able. What matters most is starting where you are, making it regular, and growing year by year.

Together, our roots deepen and our branches widen in faith and service.
