However this month we thought we’d look into a side of the music world that is rapidly on the rise in this Internet generation. We are talking about blogging. It is a vital culture as it is the new underground scene that used to exist amongst our record stores. Blogs are also vital for us as well so we can keep up with the kids ! We thought that we would have a chat with one young man who seems to have made bit of an impact on finding those classic bangers that you can never seem to remember and of course plenty of songs that will for sure be shazammed during your set. Im talking about Leeds based music blog
through word of mouth.Apart from finding his name on the site and having a cheeky little Facebook stalk ( who doesn’t ?! ) I really didn’t know much about this man. I head to his student house in Hyde park that is, well a normal student house. He is certainly tall enough measuring in at 6ft 4 which is obviously helpful when standing at the back of a crowd. The interview wasn’t too formal and we quite literally had a chat while having a cup of tea and a cigarette. What I immediately admired about this gentle giant is his relaxed tone that certainly isn’t ordinary for a first time interviewee by myself. I almost felt more under pressure just because if he was more horizontal then he would be, well horizontal.

about him and on from there he made it extremely easy for myself. He seems to be a local man and has been brought up in the countryside surrounding Leeds. Music has always been a very influential part of his life and the guitar has always been his personal choice and he has even been known to be quite the songwriter after writing one of the favourites from the up and coming Charlie Straw who has featured amongst many of the stars on A and H’s ones to watch.
The obvious question next is obviously when and how did A and H all begin? Fred: Having always wanted to find new music for myself mainly but also just to gain a few bragging rights among mates when I have showed them a song a couple of months before its been boomed out in the clubs or even on the radio. I just seem to get a real kick out of finding something new that perhaps others haven’t.
Is it still a passion or is getting more tedious to keep finding these great tunes? To be honest I’m really not just yet its something I do in my free time so putting it onto the site and allowing other people to enjoy the music I do then that’s brilliant. I also want to help out those guys In the music industry because I know how hard it must be especially with how easy it is now to illegally download thousands of songs at a time!

The man behind it all That’s a really interesting point that I hadn’t thought to raise myself? What are your views on illegal downloading? Well I mean I think its just one of those things that everyone now has power to the Internet and you can’t really stop him or her. Obviously though if people can afford to pay for songs then they definitely should, luckily though for the music industry there is still money to be made in live music. So what’s your favourite find so far that you have put on All New Heights? Well so far Id say success wise it would have been Riding High – Lee Stevens and the Beautiful People, which is a classic deep house song that got quite a few plays around the house party scene in Leeds which was really nice to hear, obviously cant take all the credit as they may have found it for themselves. Then there is also a girl from Blackpool called Ray Morris who hasn’t made it fully yet but I certainly have high hopes for her. What’s so interesting about this site is that you have two contrasting types of music from deep house to acoustic alternative music. So we’d have to ask you a fairly unusual question who would win in a fight acoustic music or dance ? Hahaha Fred sits back has a quick thought. “ Id have to say that it would be acoustic just because I can listen to it at all times of the day and seeing a live band is such a special experience and although I love my dance music I certainly cant wake up to it Well there we have it there is a very quick interview with Freddie Lane Fox behind All New Heights , if you haven’t already I’d advise you to check it out.
