Featuring over 500 exhibits of original designed fine furniture, wood sculpture, carvings, intarsia, musical instruments, exquisite turnings, toys, accessories and all other things crafted of wood. National and regional trade vendors, offering for sale, wide varieties of wood and woodworking related tools and accessories for all skill levels, many of whom will be demonstrating their products. 1 Bayberry Dr., Malta | Malta Spotlighter’s Theatre Troupe announces auditions for ‘The Lady Pirates of Captain Bree’; produced by special arrangement with Pioneer Drama Services; directed by Elyse Young. Auditions are by appointment only. A swashbuckling musical comedy set in the late 1800s aboard the merchant ship “Kayla May”, will be performed Saturday, June 17 and Sunday, June 18 on the Malta Community Center Stage. Over 26 speaking and/or singing solo roles are available for kids, teens, and adults. An additional 10-12 ensemble roles will also be cast. National Vietnam War Veterans Day
Empire State Aerosciences Museum, 250 Rudy Chase Dr., Glenville | 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. Tour our Vietnam era hunter/killer team aircraft: our OH-6A Loach scout helicopter and our newly restored UH-1M gunship. Both aircraft served in the conflict and will be open for you to climb in and inspect. Free admission and free coffee to all Veterans. At 1 p.m., the Daughters of the American Revolution will present a Vietnam Veteran Lapel Pin Presentation and a Surviving Spouse Pin Presentation. Light refreshments will be served. Living U.S. Veterans who served on active duty in the U.S. Armed Forces from Nov. 1, 1955 to May 15, 1975, regardless of location, are eligible to receive a lapel pin. THURSDAY, MARCH 30 Saratoga and Women’s Suffrage
Virtual Zoom Program | 7 p.m. The Saratoga Springs Preservation Foundation will celebrate Women’s History Month with this program presented by Dr. Sally Roesch Wagner, a highly regarded author and historian of the suffrage movement, with an introduction by Nancy Baird Brown, member of the National Votes for Women Trail. Saratoga’s role in the American Revolution is legendary, but very little is known about Saratoga Springs’ role in the 72-year Bloodless Revolution - the fight for women’s suffrage. Dr. Wagner will discuss Matilda Joslyn Gage and her role in starting the New York State Woman Suffrage Association. A suggested donation of $10.
