Activities Camping

Year-round Ages: Youth Fee: $2 per person (minimum group size of six) Primitive tent camping on 377-acres comprised of upland mixed forest, mesic pine flatwoods, hammocks and depression marshes. Lekatchka Archery Club

Year-round Ages: All ages Fee: Varies Lekatchka Archery Club is a 50-acre family archery range located at Knight Trail Park. Member hours: Mon Tue Wed Thu Fri Sat Sun 9 a.m.-8 p.m. Public hours: Second and fourth Saturday and Sunday of the month 9 a.m.-8 p.m.

Outdoor Pistol and Rifle Range

Year-round Ages: All ages Fees: Adults, $11.95; Youth (under 17), $9 Range Distances:

• 12 yards – handguns only • 25 yards – handguns, rifles and shotguns (slugs only in shotguns)

• 50 yards – handguns, rifles and shotguns (slugs only in shotguns)

• 100 yards – rifles and shotguns (slugs only in shotguns)

Fees are subject to change. Minors must be accompanied by an adult. Adults, other than parents/guardians, accompanying minors to the range must have a signed Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission release form for each visit. Summer Archery Camp

June 13-17 ages 8-11 June 20-24 ages 12-16 July 5-8 (4 days) ages 8-11 July 18-22 ages 12-16 Fee: $90/$75 (4 days) This is one of several Sarasota County Parks, Recreation and Natural Resources summer camps. Campers learn the art of archery through expert instruction by certified USA Archery coaches from the Lekatchka Archery Club. This introduction to archery covers the mechanics of traditional and compound bows, 3-D shooting, Olympic archery and competition shooting. This camp ends with a competition with prizes to test campers’ skills. Campers should bring water and a snack daily. For details, email lekatchkaarchery@yahoo.com. Trap, Skeet and Clay Range

Year-round Ages: All ages Fee: Call for prices Sarasota Trap, Skeet and Clay Range is located at Knight Trail Park and includes four trap fields, three skeet fields and two clay courses. The range is home to the Scholastic Clay Target Program, which is designed to get school-aged boys and girls involved in shooting sports.
