MUF&D MIAMI UNIVERSITY FASHION AND DESIGN
Miami University Fashion & Design, Miami’s largest student organization, seeks to promote and inspire self-expression and professional and creative development. MUF&D provides students with a platform to explore their passions and gain fashion related experience not found in the classroom. The organization consists of six committees – finance/business development, event planning, pr/marketing, modeling, graphic design, and design. Our committees give members insight into different facets of the industry while providing them with the marketable skills as they play a hands-on role in planning and executing MUF&D’s 40+ events throughout the year. MUF&D works closely with the university’s fashion program to provide exposure to prospective students and give current students experiential learning opportunities. MUF&D began a movement of fashion and design on Miami’s campus nineteen years ago, and continues to be the voice of students who are interested in the fashion industry. MUF&D, above all, works to aid its members in breaking into the fashion industry and pursuing their career goals.

Miami University Fashion & Design is a community of driven, inspiring, and passionate individuals who strive for growth and innovation each year. With thirteen leaders, six committees, and over 900 members, our organization continues to evolve, creating experiences that encourage self-expression through the art of fashion. The 2024–2025 year has been nothing short of remarkable. We’ve reached new heights in both collaboration and achievement, and tonight, we’re honored to celebrate everything that has brought us to this moment. This year’s fashion show theme, Mosaic, holds a special place in my heart—not only as a reflection of MUF&D but of my own journey. It represents how unique pieces come together to create something bigger and more beautiful, just as life’s moments, challenges, and choices shape who we are. For me, Mosaic symbolizes the people, passions, and experiences that have made this organization feel like home. Despite our individual paths, we’re united by a shared enthusiasm—a collective passion that fuels everything we do. We’re incredibly proud of our largest designer and ICON classes to date: 20 student designers and 91 models who have dedicated themselves to bringing their visions to life. From crafting mood boards and selecting fabrics to sewing final pieces, each designer has taken their collection from concept to creation. Their work empowers us all, and this show wouldn’t be possible without their countless hours of dedication. Our models have also shown outstanding commitment, refining their craft and presenting each collection with confidence and professionalism. We’re proud to give these students the chance to build confidence and pursue their passion on such a grand stage. This year, we set out to strengthen both on- and off-campus collaborations, with a focus on expanding career development and industry connections. We hosted events like an informational session with Abercrombie & Fitch and small-group meetings with professionals from New Balance, American Eagle Outfitters, and Uniqlo—brands that don’t typically recruit at Miami—giving our members exclusive industry access. We also maintained strong campus partnerships with Up Magazine, Futures in Retail, and Zero Waste Oxford while expanding collaborations to include the Miami University Symphony Orchestra, Advancing Women in Entrepreneurship, Women in Business, the Miami Jewelry and Metals Department, and Miami University Television News. These partnerships created meaningful intersections between fashion, business, sustainability, and the arts. Our annual Friends of Fashion event, co-hosted with four other organizations, featured guest speakers from FOUNT, Garde-Robe, Express, and Bath & Body Works. Throughout the year, our members have continued to grow their portfolios
through hands-on experiences in modeling, event planning, design, photography, videography, and more. MUF&D is proud to partner with the generous sponsors supporting our 19th Annual Fashion Show, and we’re especially grateful to the College of Creative Arts for helping bring this event to life. To our advisors, Natalie and Michelle— thank you for your constant guidance, support, and belief in our vision. Lastly, to my executive board—I cannot begin to express my gratitude. You hold a special place in my heart, and I am so proud of what we have built together. It has been an honor to serve alongside such passionate, dedicated, and creative individuals. Thank you for an unforgettable senior year full of joyous memories and for pushing me every day to be my best self. You are my ultimate inspiration and an everlasting piece of my Mosaic. Collaboration Collection MOSAIC The Collab Collection is a long-standing MUF&D tradition where a team of designers collaborate to create a cohesive collection that encapsulates the theme of the fashion show. Mosaic represents a collection of unique, individual pieces that come together to form a larger, meaningful whole. It reflects individuality and the way diverse elements unite through a shared passion. Every pattern, texture, and detail in this collection was thoughtfully chosen to embody that idea—just like a mosaic, where each garment tells its own story yet contributes to a bigger picture. This year, we had the privilege of designing alongside nine talented jewelry students to strengthen our theme of Mosaic. Each designer brought their own unique style, which enriched the collection and brought new depth to our vision. Through this, our designers were able to piece together their own creative designs to form something truly special. Brigham Young La Galerie A visual narrative highlighting the many characters of the art and fashion sphere. Largerthan-life personalities inspired commanding silhouettes, where dramatic proportions meet sharp tailoring and a captivating interplay of textures. A contemporary-chic palette grounds the collection in modernity, while each piece exudes presence and poise. La Galerie is a tribute to excellence and influence through creative expression.
Darcy Brudenell Brutal Authenticity My sophomore collection embodies a conscious choice to embrace independent thinking and to silence self-doubt in support of individuality. Throughout my three looks, the inclusion of men’s neckties symbolizes the beauty and potential that arise from the unexpected. Sourced from various origins, each tie carries its own story, pattern, shape, and size. They work cohesively in my pieces to exist for a second purpose and to be unwaveringly genuine.
Dillon Elam Nightshade A story of risk, defiance, and the thrill of crossing the line. Inspired by rich leathers, dangerous creatures, and the night’s pulse. Embracing what’s forbidden—without regret.
Neah Brown Quircia Quircia is a deeply personal fashion collection that embodies the journey of self-discovery and self-love. Rooted in the designer’s experiences of feeling outcasted for being “quirky” and “weird,” the collection is a celebration of individuality and personal growth. Through thoughtfully crafted silhouettes, unique fabric choices, and striking contrasts, Quircia tells the story of learning to embrace one’s uniqueness despite societal expectations. Each piece creates a visual narrative of resilience, identity, and authenticity.
Camille Keaty The Fall of Icarus Mirroring the Greek myth of Icarus, this collection displays each stage of his great fall from the warm lure of the sun to the fiery demise into the depths of the sea. This collection explores how ambition leads you closer to the sun than ever before, and yet also has the potential to end up in flames. But without ambition, who could say they’ve touched the sun?
Sophia Murphy Ravenous Ravenous is a celebration of women who are as fearless as they are captivating. Inspired by the duality of beautiful yet dangerous predatory animals, this collection redefines femininity as a symbol of strength and resilience. The Ravenous Woman is unapologetically commanding, embodying grace, confidence, and an undeniable edge. Ravenous is a declaration of power and resilience, for those who know their worth and won’t settle for less.
Anna Florence Waltz of the Flowers Inspired by the Waltz of the Flowers from Tchaikovsky’s Nutcracker, my collection captures the feeling of movement found in both dance and nature. Drawing from the grace and femininity of ballet and the delicate silhouettes of different flowers, this collection combines classic ballet details with petal-like layers and beaded touches. I hope to evoke the feeling of watching a ballet unfolding in a blooming garden.
Jack Bortel Who Will Lay the Wicked to Rest This past year I have been very much fascinated by the concept of purgatory. I believe lots of people may be seen as lingering inbetween the lines of good and bad, but yet I believe everyone deserves something in the end. This collection explores the liminal space between...this non definitive gray area is seen through many altered garments made to represent that awkwardness, and the possible figures that would be stuck in that place.
Angel Hardy Candy Gravel This collection closely resembles the clothes I wear daily that freak other people out (cross-dressing aside). I draw inspiration from elements of the Lolita and Ouji fashion from Harajuku, ghostly nightgowns, and vulture culture bones and ornaments. It’s creepy and elegant, and most of all: fun.
Estella Grasso Gilded Metropolis Inspired by the grandeur and opulence of New York City, Gilded Metropolis captures the intersection of luxury and urban sophistication. Each piece in the collection is a tribute to the city’s iconic skyline and its golden age of architectural brilliance. Intricate designs meet lavish fabrics that reflect the elegance of New York’s high society while maintaining a modern edge. The collection radiates a sense of untouchable glamour, where every look embodies the shimmering, untamed beauty of the city that never sleeps.
Janel Bartee Aetherium Embodying the ethereal beauty and scale of the cosmos, this collection imaginatively bridges the mortal and divine. Drawing inspiration from the concept of the mythical fifth element “aether”, I incorporate diverse silhouettes and textured pieces to depict different astronomical bodies. A palette of silvers, golds, and blue emulates the infinite expanse of space and cosmic drift. Aetherium transforms celestial wonder into wearable art.
Emma Gaskill In a Past Life In a Past Life embodies the connection between two people who upon meeting each other are reunited from a past life, and follows the stages and different aspects of love throughout their relationship. Their souls follow them through each life they live and bring them together in the right time and the right place.
Ella Roberts La Valse D’Amour “La Valse D’Amour”, meaning “The Waltz of Love”, captures the essence of my collection: soft and romantic wedding dresses with hints of historical design woven throughout. Designed for women who love love, this collection is for those who dream of frolicking in an old French castle and treating life like their very own fairytale. Each piece is a love note to romance, femininity, and elegance.
Vivienne Koepke The Energy of Crystals My grandmother was a belly dancer who handsewed all her costumes and I always believed I got my sewing gifts from her. I grew up opening boxes of her designs, admiring the details and feeling connected to her through fabric and crystals. I’ve always been drawn to crystals. I use them during my tarot card readings to tap into emotions and deepen my understanding of the people I love. This collection brings all of these things together. The universe, its energy and me.
Miko Lenz Wings Butterflies feel like something out of a fantasy world, and I’ve been enamoured with them my entire life. As a child, I could be found chasing after the glittering colours and brilliant patterns found on their wings. If one ever chose to land on me, I felt truly magical. Each look draws inspiration from the stunning wings of a different butterfly: the purple spotted swallowtail, the cithaerias merolina, the malachite, and the blue morpho. With every piece in my collection, I hope to evoke all these feelings I associate with butterflies - magic and beauty, joy and fantasy.
Lorelei Huber Red Handed A play on geometry and words.
MB Ludwig Olive Hill Loop Olive Hill Loop was inspired when I was on a run in Napa, CA listening to the song “Summer Wine” on my family’s favorite path “Olive Hill Loop.” Heavily influenced by the 1999 film “Virgin Suicides,” this collection brings forth the care free, damp, & angelic vibes of a young summer. With hand-woven & hand-knit textiles, lace creams, & glazed shines. This is a collection for the half-lit hours, for the girls who never dried off. Lace gone sheer with humidity and a glaze of sweat, knit threads clinging like second skin. Dip your calves in!
Adrienne Brown Moon River Inspired by the timeless charm of vintage fashion, this three-piece collection celebrates graceful femininity and elegance, evoking a sense of playfulness and charming softness. Each piece blends light, delicate fabrics with subtly daring details to strike a balance between innocence and boldness. As Audrey Hepburn once said, “Elegance is the only beauty that never fades.”
Liz Bregman Where the Grass Grows A reflection on the in-between—where endings and beginnings blur, and the present is all there is. Rooted in the feeling of slowing down and holding onto fleeting moments, this collection honors the softness of transition and what we carry forward. Each look draws from handmade details, natural textures, and the quiet comfort of familiar places. It’s a love letter to now—before it becomes then.
Ian Kellogg Frostbite I’ve always been drawn to the rebellious element of freestyle skiing. For this collection, I wanted to capture that idea, through punk culture. Looking to nature, I wanted to focus on animals that protect themselves in their own unique ways, finding beauty in that rebellious power. Expect to see animalistic silhouettes, faces and patterns incorporated into garment construction, while maintaining the functionality of ski gear. My goal was to mix defiance and survival, two concepts that are linked when it comes to rebellion.

MINOR AND CO-MA JOR
Miami’s interdisciplinary Fashion Program is housed in the Department of Art and includes many courses in the Farmer Business School. It consists of a co-major and minor and includes a wide range of students from over 40 different majors on campus. Emphasizing creativity and experimentation, it offers students the opportunity to develop a broad set of basic competencies in design language, technical skills, and fashion business. These skills are fundamentals for employment in the fashion industry. The program is enhanced by numerous Miami alumni who are high-level executives in the Fashion industry, one of the biggest industries in the world. They contribute program support with fabric, scholarships, mentoring, internships, and jobs.
