“The Unbounded nature of a border”

Dear Team / Organizers
I am interested in working with the Szczecin community on the sonic perception of the border between Poland and Germany, between East and West, and between North and South, exploring the theme of water in an acoustic sense.
Seeking inspiration for this work on the theme of the boundary and the nature of its insolubility, I wondered about the perception of the boundary, understood as that of our body-skin-ear, that of the imagination, and that of the physical-territorial I tried to decline what the border is for me I was born in Arco, at the confluence of three regions and three provinces A narrow portion of territory, with only one outlet on the water, Lake Garda, for me synonymous with light and hope.
I now live between Italy and Belgium, and drawing a hypothetical map with Szczecin at the center, it still comes out as a confluence of three main places (Arco, Koksjide, Szczecin), forming a triangle I would like to investigate acoustically the Polish territory included within this map, together with the people, interviewing them about their sonic memories, and their hopes
“The emotion of hope goes out of itself, makes people broad instead of confining them, cannot know nearly enough of what it is that makes them inwardly aimed, of what may be allied to them outwardly The work of this emotion requires people who throw themselves actively into what is becoming, to which they themselves belong” declares Ernst Bloch
The purpose of this journey is to involve the community in the writing of an encyclopedia of hopes, of Blochian inspiration, to be realized in the form of a participatory and collective sound installation

The composition blends sounds of Brussels’ fountains with 3 choirs, recorded in the urban context, interpreting the noise of melting glaciers in Trentino. The aim is to make people aware of environmental issues and preserve the unique and endangered “language”oftheTrentinoglacier.

‘So, What Is Your Question’ is a 2019-formed collaboration between the two artists Sara Maino (Trento, Italy) and Marina Kazakova (Russia). The point of departure of their artistic creation is the interplay of the two selves (two poets) as well as the interplay between the poet and the world. The duet reflects on the idea of a conversation as the core of a creative process, dialogic structure as theheartofourcreativethinking, andalsoofbuildingrelationships.
