PROJECT OVERVIEW
SUITABILITY ANALYSIS
Based in Brunswick, GA our green infratructure design project started with a thorough analysis of the city’s conditions, guided by the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and Geodesign process. This led to a suitability analysis study, pinpointing potential sites for green infrastructure. Through collaboration with local officials through the UGA Marine Extension and Georgia Seagrant the project aims to enhance biodiversity, manage stormwater, and improve overall quality of life in Brunswick.

Layers used to conduct suitability analysis for Brunswick include soil types(25% weight), tree canopy cover(25% weight) (which correlates directly with the urban heat island effect), low income densities(25% weight), and flood zone areas(25% weight). This analysis directly impacted where we selected our sites. The green areas depict the most suitable, yellow being intermidiate suitability, and red being least suitable.

GLYNN AVE
PROJECT OVERVIEW This green infrastructure initiative in Brunswick, GA aims to enhance health and well-being by improving access to clean air, water, and green spaces. It also tackles inequality by ensuring fair distribution of sustainable resources, fostering inclusivity and resilience. Additionally, it strengthens climate change resilience, creating a healthier environment for all residents.
PROGRAMS
CIRCULATION AND PROGRAMS This site, located adjacent to a busy road, Glynn Ave, was designed to transition from a more active zone to a passive zone with flowing circulation and corresponding programming, allowing users to move freely through the space and utilize areas in multiple ways.

BERM LAWN
GREEN INFRASTRUCTURE In this park design, I’ve integrated a range of green infrastructure tactics to enhance sustainability and functionality. Raingardens are strategically placed throughout the park to manage stormwater runoff, promoting groundwater recharge
and reducing erosion. Permeable pavements have been utilized for sidewalks, allowing rainwater to infiltrate the ground, mitigating flooding and replenishing local aquifers. Moreover, there is repurposed demolished concrete
to create gravel for the parking lot, reducing waste and minimizing environmental impact. Native plantings adorn the park, not only beautifying the landscape but also providing habitat for local wildlife and requiring less water and maintenance.
Other design elements of this design include a picnic plaza with a nature play area, community garden deck, berm lawn, and perennial walk. In addition to various seating types such as benches, planters and tabels.
PERENNIAL WALK
Strong emphasis was given to the schematic phase of this design with more focus on specific plant and materials selection promoting a more affordable and sustainable design implementation.

LA Studio 4 - Community + Place Individual Project 2022 AutoCAD, Sketchup, Photoshop
PROJECT DESCRIPTION
LAWN VIEW
This project is a residential design located in Athens, Georgia. Tasked with choosing our own client, the intent behind this design was to create a space for my sister to enjoy. Composed of biomorphic forms and natural plantings, I designed the greenspace to flow with the paved forms creating a connected and walkable area. With privacy screens created by plants and fencing, my sister has her own oasis away from the rest of the town.

AXON GRAPHICS Initial concept drawings were created by hand, then copied into AutoCAD and then into Rhino3D, where the final digital model was extruded. Photoshop was used to render the axon and views, while Procreate was used to render the plan.

CONCEPT What will the city of Athens be like in 2042? How can we design for the future? Our site design focused on connectivity, stormwater management, and biophilic design in order to answer these questions.
COMMERCIAL
MIXED USE
BUILDING TYPOLOGIES TYPOLOGIES Located on the right side of the page, the three building types implemented in this design were single-family homes, commercial buildings, and mixed-use buildings, each following a similar biomorphic typology.

GRAPHICS Initially, the concepts for the project were sketched by hand and modeled in Rhino 3D. Rendering was done in Lumion and Photoshop and the diagrams with ArcGIS and Illustrator. MIXED-USE
ACTIVE SPACE
GREEN SPACES The main concept for the green spaces of
the site is connectivity, hence the very flowy, biomorphic forms. Using greenspace as an
inviting buffer around the site, the buildings
PASSIVE SPACE
are surrounded by a fluctuating passive
greenspace containing relaxed programs and natural plantings. The active green spaces,
located at the center of the site, connect all of the buildings and serve as a gathering place programmed with a variety of activities. In
the center of the site, connecting the mixed-
use, commercial and single-family residential buildings, the active green spaces act as
a gathering place programmed with many
activities for all ages. In addition, the buildings feature both extensive and intensive green roofs.
GREEN ROOF
ZONES The site comprises 3 types of green space zones; Active, Passive, and Green Roofs. This render shows an active green space with seating areas and walkways.
WALKWAY
FORMS As with the building typologies, the biomorphic forms of the green space design reflect the concept of connection throughout the space, connecting people together and to the site and its programs. PLAYGROUND VIEW

SPONGE PARK STORMWATER The sponge park is intended to collect all stormwater drainage as it is located at the lowest point on the site. We designed the site topography to lead most runoff towards the sponge park. We then programmed the space to be a center of many activities and an attraction for the site. With a series of bridges and paths, the park is intended for visitors to use as they see fit.

SITE PLAN
GRADING PLAN This design project integrates key elements to enhance the campus experience, featuring an alumni plaza, a plaque wall, and a trellis, all thoughtfully placed below two elevated decks equipped with ample seating. The plaza serves as a focal point for alumni gatherings and events, while the plaque wall commemorates the achievements of distinguished graduates. A lush trellis provides shade and aesthetic appeal, creating an inviting atmosphere for study and relaxation. Additionally, strategically placed rain gardens contribute to sustainability efforts and add natural beauty to the space. This multifunctional area combines architectural innovation with practical amenities to enrich the university environment.
