You can quickly and reliably determine the exact amount of paint you need for your interior or exterior project with our paint calculator. Use our paint calculator and enter the surface area of the surface(s) to be painted to calculate the painting calculation needed for your interior or outdoor project (excluding areas where there are windows, doors, etc.).

For a simple computation, follow these steps:

Calculate the area of walls and ceilings - you can use a measuring tape to measure the length and width of the walls & ceilings and multiply them to get the area of walls per square foot).

Surface area of the to-be-painted surface(s) (excluding areas where there are windows, doors etc).

[{ area of walls} + {area of ceiling } - {area of doors and windows}

The number of coats needed: Your square footage estimation only takes into account one coat of paint. Add the entire surface area to your final figure for each additional coat of paint.

[Total painting area ÷ paint coverage per liter.] * number of coats.

Paint coverage per liter is provided by the brand you are using.

This will give you the painting calculation for the estimated amount of paint to be used for your walls and ceilings.
