Stereotomics and tectonic strategies are used to create spatial hierarchy within the envelope. The six by six inch study model cubes are stacked to create larger towers which relate to each other through their formal structure.

Rhythm and movement are represented in the facade design through the double layered slabs with rectangular cutouts similar to those from the Murcia Town Hall by Rafael Moneo. The user can move throughout the dynamic space right behind the first layer and back into the interior of the building at designated doorways. Other areas aren’t accessible but serve as peepholes for the outside viewer to look in and the inside viewer to look out. Those moments leave the outside viewer curious about the interior space because the facade obscures the majority of the interior making it difficult to read.

The digital mural gallery uses the adjacent walls of the two neighboring buildings as spaces for digital art work. Because of this there is no defined studio space, rather the whole area is a series of inhabitable slabs placed in a way that allows for visual connection between the two sides.

Inspired by the Apartment in Nerima by go hasegawa, the project is divided into three modules with grated transition spaces in between, so that users can move from one module to the next. The module located in the back of the site, serves as the central circulation area where users can go between floors and also to the other modules, These modules break up the space in the vertical direction and provide variety within the layered slabs.

The transition spaces also allow for natural lighting effects and lends to the lightness of the project as the light perforating through on the grates connect the ground plane to the roof area. The use of slabs, thin columns, and beams also emphasize the lightness of the project with the art as the focal point rather than the structure itself.

The tectonic upper is juxtaposed with the stereotomic lower basement area cut into the site. The basement area contains private spaces such as bathroom, offices, and storage.

The threshold connecting the upstairs area to a downstairs area is represented in this drawing using different perspectives overlaid on one another to give the viewer a glimpse into the experience of the space.

Two pieces of art are overlaid on one another in which spatial hierarchy is shown through what is being represented. Colors represent moments when focal points of the two pieces intersect each other.

Through a series of taxonomies from different perspectives, the three objects are joined together. Each taxonomy represents one of those steps and is shown in plan, section, and axon.

A landscape design inspired by our natural environment. Purple circular overlays divide the landscape into planes while the spectrum of line weights and color give implied variety of the space in the vertical direction.

A series of analytical drawings superimposed on a fantasy space landscape. Depth is shown through shadowing. The focal point of the project, the geometric spaceship form, is emphasised through the use of saturated color while the background and secondary elements represented in muted colors.
