Birds are a persistent subject in art, returned to across generations for their form, movement and presence. At once familiar and elusive, they invite both close observation and imaginative interpretation.
I have chosen this focus as, when seen together, the varied species and artistic approaches begin to cohere as a conceptual flock within the gallery. Each work independent, yet collectively shaping a quiet, shared presence.
Either depicted grounded or in flight, solitary or in relation to their surroundings the birds come together as a flock in this exhibition.
I hope that you enjoy the catalogue and the exhibition as much as I have enjoyed putting it all together.
All works are available for sale on receipt of this catalogue.
