Central Park Exhibition Development

Surveying a Territory

Analyzing Central park nature through the autonomy of the city. in order to develop a landscape through artificial topological constructions. Certain bridges are figural, while other bridges are non-figural displacements of the ground surface, dissipating their figuration in relation to the landscape and proposing an inhabited ground surface. such conditions include the Inscope Arch and Gapstow Bridge.The site is located at the South East of central park, surrounded by Fifth avenue and 59 Street.and building up continuity within a given maximum area reference of 150’ radius.

Site specific Intervention and Creation of Space

Activating the logic of the project in relation to its site-specificity by activating a certain architectural condition in the topography and existing Architecture, the Gapstow Bridge and Inscope Arch.

Spatial Topology Mobious Strip Aplications/Knots

Spatial relationships in respect to the similarity in the relationships found in the park itself. Developing a response, Over and under conditions, overlapping spaces, and weaving. measurring the site using the descriptive geometry tools, including surveying the existing topography and understanding reference to the city grid, horizon and elevations, measuring the topography in relation to points of reference

The Shell

Giving the conditions in the site and using the idea of a shell structure as the first building specific intervention in order to develop an architecture in separation from the site but that builds up in relationship from it and interacts withou disrupting the park specifity.

Narrative

develop a museum for Central Park within Central Park, with indoor, outdoor and hibrid exhibitions space,understanding the relationship between the site and the exhibition of the reference frame as part of the conditions of the architecture of the building. Furniture and other elements will index the program without labeling, describing place making, different programmatic areas and inhabitation through architecture elements and body positions.
