—We are enlivened and empowered by the everlasting power of God’s rainbow of love and light. This is a moment to grow in generosity and joyful hearts. Let’s stay steady, and be faithful and creative, offering all the gifts with which we have been blessed to hold one another through these times. • Continue to give generously. • Donations to the Westside Food Bank may be made in support of their virtual food bank at: www.westsidefoodbankca.org. • Take care. Wash your hands. Do everything in your power to help stop the spread of the virus. • Deepen the bonds of love amongst family, friends and neighbors in our new-found extra time together. • Be creative. Reach out to one another with love and care. • Check the church website for updates on worship and ministry opportunities.

PRELUDE
CALL TO WORSHIP Jojo Beckerman, Lay Lector Ever-creating God, today we give you thanks for 145 years of faithful witness in and through the First United Methodist Church of Santa Monica. For all our spiritual forebears, Susanna, John, and Charles Wesley, and all who joined the early Methodist movement, inspired by your Spirit, we give thanks. We praise you for all who followed them, who gave themselves unselfishly for the welfare of the Church, whose commitment and vision encouraged and supported the Church. With your church in every place, give us a new vision, new love, new wisdom and fresh understanding, that we may serve you faithfully with joyful hearts and limitless hope. RESPONSE The Centennial Hymn Eternal God, we sing your praise, within whose love we live our days; in burning bush, through darkest night, Your Presence comes as Truth and Light. We cherish the past, rejoice in today, and challenge the future’s broad’ning way. With kingdom hope we rise to claim Your promised Grace in Jesus’ name. Lord of the years, we humbly ask, For strength that is equal to our task. O spirit come, descend with pow’r, And make us ready for this hour.
