Brentwood Community Council’s Newsletter Announces New Tow Away Signs The No Parking Signs Are Being Installed North of 1500 North Kenter By Dolores Quintana The Brentwood Community Council’s newsletter announced this week that new “Tow Away - No Parking Any Time” signs are being installed north of 1500 North Kenter on both sides of North Kenter, near the entrance to the Kenter Trailhead. Because of the increased fire hazard as the summer heat starts in earnest, these signs are meant to help firefighting
efforts once the fire season starts. This action is likely being taken as a public safety measure so that emergency vehicles will be able to access the area if the need arises. Please be aware of and observe the new signage once installed. It may be part of \the Red Flag Restricted Parking Program. In an attempt to increase public safety, the Fire Department and Department of Transportation have created a program to remove illegally parked vehicles in posted locations within the Very High Fire Hazard Severity Zones. This program was implemented with the assistance of the City Council to remove vehicles that create hazardous conditions. Station Commanders were asked to survey their district and identify critical areas where parked vehicles could delay citizens trying to
evacuate and fire companies attempting to gain

New Multifamily Housing Project With 81 Units Is Being Considered In Brentwood 7-Story Development Could Bring Affordable Living to 11905 Wilshire Boulevard By Dolores Quintana Progress is being made on a new multifamily housing development in Brentwood, as the Los Angeles Department of City Planning releases a recent environmental study as reported by Urbanize Los Angeles. Back in September 2022, Nirup Venkatachalam of Radha Hotels USA submitted plans to the City of Los Angeles for the redevelopment of a vacant building and parking lot at 11905 Wilshire Boulevard. The proposed project features a sevenstory building comprising 81 studio, onebedroom, and two-bedroom apartments with approximately 3,500 square feet of groundfloor commercial space. To accommodate parking needs, the development includes 105 parking spaces, some at street level and others at a subterranean level. The team is also seeking density bonus
incentives to construct a larger building than what the zoning rules currently allow. As part of these incentives, only nine new apartments will be designated affordable housing for very low-income residents. The design work for 11905 Wilshire is being handled by Carrier Johnson + Culture. The exterior is planned to feature smooth stucco and glass. Certain design elements from earlier plans have been revised to present a more modest contemporary look. The proposed amenities for the building will not be revised. Tenants would have access to a gym, a plaza, and two outdoor decks. Assuming the project is approved, the construction phase will span approximately 24 months. The environmental study covers 2023 to 2025, but it might not fully reflect the final construction schedule. This project is quite close to another completed structure on Wilshire Boulevard called Picasso Brentwood, which opened in 2019.
