Effective marketing is at the heart of growing Santa Gertrudis cattle sales, expanding membership,andboostingthebreed’spresenceacrossAustralia.
Achieving this requires a united effort from members, particularly through contributions governed by Regulation 7.4, which ensures our breed promotion is consistentlyfundedviaannualpublicityfees.
Each year, Santa Gertrudis members play a crucial role by contributing 1% of the sale price (excluding GST) on bulls and registered females sold for breeding purposes (whetheratauctionoroutofthepaddock).
These contributions are essential in sustaining the breed’s visibility and supporting marketingefforts,including:

Ross, who runs Glenarthur Stud at Lockhart, NSW, recalls how Peter a lifelong friend since school — first transitioned from British breed cattle to Santas,simplybyadmiringtheirquality fromtheroadside.
"He’s been present at several classification visits, discussing standards with the classifier, and carefully selecting heifers to build his herd,"Rossexplains.
Now, that decision to embrace Santa Gertrudis genetics is coming full circle, as the Willis and Jenkins families of Marrar, NSW donate the heifer, bred from a Glenarthur stud bull and a Glenarthur commercial cow, to help the students of Willans HillSchool.
