A NOTE FROM THE DIRECTOR “A person’s a person no matter how small.” Dr. Seuss has written a lot of great lines that are filled with far more meaning than might seem possible in so few words. But he definitely had a way of communicating truth with a fun style of poetry that everyone could remember and understand. We have spent many moments as a cast focusing on several of his themes, but this one sums up so much of what we find important at the middle school level. In the case of our show, Horton repeats this line over and over again because of his care for the Who’s who rest on the clover he cares for throughout the show. In the gospel of Matthew, Jesus shares
the parable about the Shepherd going after the one sheep because they are all that important to Him. And in our own world, we hope that our students will display this same sense of compassion and concern for others in a world that is often so self-focused. We also hope that you’ll take away lots of joy today as you watch these middle school students perform their hearts out to some of the most well-known stories from our childhood, whether you like green eggs and ham or not!!!
