No refund, unless AIFS suspends the program. All fees paid less the $150 processing fee & $125 insurance premium.

*Before the start date of the program, should the U.S. State Department issue a “Travel Warning” that American citizens must not travel to Japan, SBCC will cancel the program. If the program is canceled as a result of a travel warning, AIFS will refund the entire program fee to all participants on that program

Travel & Housing Air Transportation. SBCC has contracted with AIFS to provide travel and housing arrangements for the Japan Summer 2018 Program.

Group Flight Deadline: April 6, 2018 **You must be accepted into the program before you can reserve your space on the group flight. Apply by March 30th to allow time for the review process

AIFS will organize an optional round-trip group flight from LAX to Tokyo (TYO) returning Kansai International (KIX) to LAX on a regularly scheduled airline. Airfare is not included in the program price and costs $1,295 plus departure taxes and surcharges (estimated at $190). There is a 10 student minimum requirement for the group flight. You must notify AIFS on or before April 6, 2018, if you wish to fly with the group. You may make your own travel arrangements if you do not wish to travel with the group. An AIFS representative will meet the group flight participants at the appropriate airport in Tokyo and arrange for a round-trip transfer from the airport to the Tokyo housing and from the Kyoto housing. All participants are responsible for checking in at the designated arrival point and time on the scheduled date of arrival. Participants missing the transfer and/or check-in time are responsible for making and paying their own transfer and first-night accommodations respectively. Detailed arrival information will be provided approximately two weeks prior to arrival. Housing Arrangements. Exact housing placements will be provided to participants upon your arrival. Twin–bedded rooms on a bed & breakfast basis in a centrally located hotel in Tokyo, twinbedded apartments in a centrally located apart-hotel in Kyoto. Each apart-hotel is equipped with linens, a kitchenette, laundry facilities, and WiFi.

Information Meetings Information meetings for the program will be held on the SBCC Campus. Attendance is not mandatory for participation in the program Parents and students are welcome to attend. Information meetings are usually located at the Luria Library Conference Room on the West Campus unless otherwise noted.
