Step-by-Step break down of a fun easy exercise known as the Bird Dog Exercise! If you've been in for physical therapy or worked with one of our personal trainers you might be familiar with this exercise. The Bird Dog Exercise is a stability exercise that is used often by our therapists to help treat back pain as well as overall strengthening of your core and glutes.

Here is a breakdown of what you're seeing one of our Aides, Michaela, do!

- Start on your hands and knees. Hands shoulder width apart and knees hip width apart. - Brace your abs, raise your right arm and your left leg until they are in line with your body, focusing on keeping your back parallel to the floor, as if you were balancing something across your back. Hold for 3-5 seconds. - Return to your starting position, hands shoulder width apart and knees hip width apart. - Brace your abs, raise your left arm and your right leg until they are in line with your body, focusing on keeping your back parallel to the floor, as if you were balancing something across your back. Hold for 3-5 seconds. - Return to your starting position, hands shoulder width apart and knees hip width apart. -Repeat -Work up to 2 minutes of Bird Dogs
