Housing is one of the most basic and important life necessities giving a safe and secure place for its inhabitants. The housing is designed on the basis of area, user group, typology etc. The balconies of the apartment towers are enhanced with parametric design, which increases the aesthetic apearance of the building as well as prevents direct sunlight and rain to enter inside the building. The material used for the design is GFRC (Glass Fiber Reinforced Concrete).

PROJECT DATA

A cbse school is designed at Mahalunge, Pune, Maharashtra.

It is provided with a calm ambience, spacious with good amenities and visually appealing landscape which makes it a good place for the children to study and to develop their empirical well- being. The buildings are constructed with only one material i.e., concrete .

CONCEPT

SITE SECTION A-A

The given site was cut at the angles of 30° and 60°.The buildings were formed according to the requirement. Then the individual blocks were elevated to form the respective blocks, which are properly balanced and aligned in the site. This allows for sufficient circulation space.

The aim of the project was to understand and explore the traditional knowledge system of Temple Architecture of the Krishnabai Temple at Kshetra Mahabaleshwar, built heritage and cultural heritage of Kshetra Mahabaleshwar and the indigenous traditional water system & its use. The complex of Krishnabai represents a unique artistic creation, as much for its highly original architecture as for the high-quality sculpted décor made up of a mythological iconography of demons and snakes that includes susceptible to various interpretations, sacred or profane.

Secured 2nd Position at the National Final Jury of the Awards Program at Hyderabad on 31st March 2023.

Columns were characteristically simplified and were richly carved. They had the same essential form with a square base, a square or four sided shaft and a capital composed of a cluster of leaves.

Nagaraja is described to be a King of the Nagas. A devotee and a mount of Vishnu, he serves as the deity’s bed and is named the noblest of all Nagas.

A LINGAM REFERRED TO AS LINGA OR SHIVA LINGA, IS AN ABSTRACT OR ICONIC REPRESENTATION OF THE HINDU DEITY. INSIDE THE GARBHAGRIHA, LINGA IS PLACED ON THE GROUND, DIVIDED INTO THREE PARTS: THE LOWEST ONE IS CALLED BRAHMA-PITHA, THE MIDDLE ONE IS CALLED VISHNU-PITHA AND THE UPPERMOST ONE IS CALLED AS SHIVA-PITHA.

THE PLAN OF THE SHRINE IS SIMPLE, CONSISTING OF PILLARED WALKWAYS AROUND A SQUARE POOL WITH STEPS. THE WATER FLOWS PERPETUALLY FROM A SNOUT SHAPED LIKE A COW'S MOUTH, I.E. THE SOURCE OF KRISHNA RIVER.

The water from a natural occuring spring emerges into a a small kund through a Gomukh. This Kund 1 is 2.6m deep and is located at the centre in front of the garbagriha. kund 2 is located to the south of the temple and is comparitively smaller than Kund 1.

As said before, this stepwell is the last and 8th among all the tirthas of Kshetra Mahabaleshwar. Out of the 16 rituals of funeral the last ritual is done in front of the stepwell.

A small stream of the river flowing from a cow face (gomukh) falls in a Kund (stepwell) which is the source of River Krishna

Garbagriha

The temple consists of five essential parts that include the Garbagriha where the idol of deity is kept. Antrala where the door of Garbagriha opens. The garbagriha is small and a dark place. It needs no light as it houses ‘light’ itself in the form of deity or symbol.

Antarala (in Sanskrit, lit. means intermediate space) is a small antechamber or foyer between the garbhagriha (shrine) and the mandapa

Niches

Niches (Dewli) are present on the internal walls of the corridor and the garbagriha. They are used to keep lamps (diva) or lanterns as well as things

Sabhamandapa

The walls on both sides of the internal elevation consist of niches. The external columns are carved with floral motifs. there are 3 types of arches one between internal columns, one between external columns and the third between an internal and external column .

The plan of the shrine is rather simple, consisting of pillared walkways around a square pool with steps. It is said that this very pool, in which water flows perpetually from a snout shaped like a cow’s mouth, is the source of the mighty Krishna River

• The whole precinct area has great heriwtage potential due to so many temples present around. The climate helps in providing favourable conditions for tourists.

• Very less people know about the place. This can be resolved if information is provided using brochures, booklets etc.

• The property is fully authentic in terms of its location and setting, forms and designs, and materials and substance.

• Its historic location has not changed. The forms, designs, and materials authentically illustrate the elements of Indian temple architecture,

• The various attributes of the Krishnabai Temple, including its structures, sculptures, ornamentation are maintained in their original forms and material.

SHIKARA DETAILS

• The temple has its unique architectural integrity. it is built using only one type of stone. 2 inverted ceilings in the garbhagriha forms one shikhara at the top making it one of the most distinctive part of the temple.

• Its setting and location are maintained in their original form, near the Valleys of Kshetra Mahabaleshwar.

• In preserving the attributes as stated, the Krishnabai temple, Kshetra Mahabaleshwar repeatedly evokes the strong spirit and feelingassociated with the structure, which is manifested today in the living cultural practices related to this property, such as the Mahashivratri festival.

NAGVEM Village is situated in South Goa District. Site has a sceneric view of river and surrounded by hills which gives us a feel of being in the nature which can help to clear your head and bring you into the present moment.

Researchers believe that the sound of water can guide the neuronal waves in our brain, allowing for a calming effect . The calmness around you will relax your mind, body, and soul. Goa is popularly known for tourism which gave us idea to design weekend home.

People of this village are living in a very peaceful manner and agriculture is the main profession of this village. Still this village is waiting for development and modernism due to the contemporary mindset.

Modern Interior materials like wood, marble elements which are found in the composition evoke memories and act as reinforcements in creating a unique spatial experience. Most of old Goan homes have wood in their interiors.

As in earlier Goan times bright colors like blue, red were achieved with the use of vegetable and natural dyes neutral colour palette with emphasize of bright colours like red, blue, green is used.

The designed house interior tries to blend modernism with emotion of traditional Goan house.

The site is a vacant area connected to the pavana river on one side and to the main road on the other.

The aim of this project would be transforming city as a unique cultural platform with recreational and entertainment facilities serving the city, its people and tourist with new dimension, meaning and scale of development. The idea of the project is to create a recreational area which is an escape route for city dwellers.

AIM AND OBJECTIVE OF THE DESIGN

The aim of this project would be transforming city as a unique cultural platform with recreational and entertainment facilities serving the city, its people and tourist with new dimension, meaning and scale of development.

The following are the objectives considered :

• Make the riverfront accessible to the public.

• Stop the flow of sewage, keep the river clean and pollution free.

• Reduce risk of erosion and flooding .

• Create riverfront parks, promenades, and ghats to enjoy the water.

• Generate resources to pay for all of the foregoing.

• Create a memorable identity for Ravet.

CONCEPT OF DESIGN

The concept focuses on designing a Contemporary riverfront project.

• The idea of the project is to create a recreational area which is an escape route for city dwellers.

• The elements of the river’s natural edge are incorporated in the form of controlled wilderness through landscape design.

BRIEF INTERPRETATION

The brief talks about designing a public participatory space which means people of all age groups, flora, fauna, and other elements of the ecosystem unite together in harmony to balance the rhythm of the nature.
