Leading the Way in Pine Point Home Sales

2022 Dear Friends and Family, I hope your new year is off to a happy healthy start! The real estate market is.

Overall, 2021 was a record-breaking year for residential real estate in Maine.

Statistics gathered by Maine Listings confirm that the year ended with historic highs for the number of reported transactions (20,401) and a median sales price increase of 16.8%.

As with many Maine communities, Pine Point buyer demand was exceedingly high. Despite a low number of homes for sale, as compared to 2020, we experienced a 27% increase in the number of homes sold, and a 24% increase in the average sale price. The average “list to contract” time was 6.5 days in 2021.

Many listings had multiple offers and sold above list price.

The idea of home became paramount as people re-envisioned ‘home’ as multi-functional spaces for work, play and sanctuary, they sought out bigger and better living environments.

Will the momentum continue this year? Strong general and Covid-driven, homebuyer demand still exists, and our listing inventory remains historically low.

While we may not experience the dizzying heights of last year, 2022 promises to be another strong seller’s market with many current buyers seeking new beach homes and the wonderful quality-of-life Pine Point offers.
