What we do at HID Global site in Galway History of HID Global Galway Founded in 1997 the world’s first wire-embedding inlay production plant. HID Global supplied blank pages of electronic passports, which were embedded with a Radio Identification chip based on the RFID standard. The company had developed proprietary technology, which enabled it to insert a chip and antenna into plastic sheets of paper. These sheets are then supplied to specialist print companies who print passports on behalf of national governments.

About HID Global Galway Today the company employs in excess of 100 staff at two sites. In Baile na hAbhann, County Galway activities on site include Manufacturing, R&D, Supply Chain and related local site support activities including Finance and Human Resources. HID Global has a second temporary site in GTC Mervue Galway with around 30 employees in Finance, Customer Service, Sales, HR and Logistics.

HID Global Galway Future Plans - 2020 In 2020, HID Global will open a new state of the art site in Mervue Business Park with onsite canteen and gym facilities. This site will house over 200 employees in Finance, IT, HR, Marketing, Sales, Customer Service, Logistics, Engineering, Operations and Production. #Secure your Future!

What we do at HID Global site in Hong Kong History of HID Hong Kong More than 1 billion people around the world don’t have proper identity documents, which prevents them from accessing basic public rights and services such as healthcare or school education. Citizen Identity Solutions (CID), HID Global’s Business Area focusing on government-backed citizen identity solutions, aims at changing that by creating modern and secure identities for everyone. Our teams’ mission is to work closely with governments and local companies in all regions to scope, build and deliver customized solutions for the issuance and use of physical or mobile identity documents. For instance, we may be involved in the design of a new electronic passport booklet comprising over 30 components, the provision of mobile driver’s licenses or the architecture work to create IT solutions allowing to register applicants online, enroll their biometrics and then manufacture and personalize ID documents that citizens will use to travel internationally, open a bank account or get a job.
