ONYX

Onyx is a highly variable material in terms of color, cr ystalline structure and veining. Ever y Onyx product should be considered one-of-a-kind. The material not only varies significantly from block to block, but within most individual blocks, as in photo at left. Below are some photos of variations in our onyx material.

MULTI COLORED ONYX

can range from pale green

with little veining or variation in color to something reminiscent of a wild abstract painting.

HONEY ONYX

ranges from swirly to striped

to mottled and the color ranges from pale whitish/yellow to a brownish/yellow.

WHITE ONYX

ranges from partially white

with yellow, reddish or rusty colored veining to the very rare almost pure white.

MARBLE AND GRANITE

We carve our designs from single blocks of stone that have formed over hundreds of millions of years. Each block has its own personality expressed in slight differences in its crystalline structure. This individual character is evident in variations such as distinctive veining, mineral inclusions, minor pitting or areas of enhanced coloration. As blocks are extracted from different areas of a quarry, the coloration and features of each block of stone will vary somewhat.

Our BLACK GRANITE usually contains irregular shaped inclusions of silver, gold or copper colored mineral deposits as shown above left. We carve our C26 and C27 designs from GREEN/GREY GRANITE boulders that have developed naturally weathered exteriors over millions of years. The color is highly variable and there are usually some whitish inclusions, and pitting in the polished surface, and the naturally weathered exterior can extend into the polished rim as shown above center. Enhanced areas of coloration express the individual personality of products carved in natural stone, as in BLUE/GREY GRANITE , above right.

Stone Forestâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s unique BRONZE vessels are hand crafted using traditional sand casting methods. Some finishing marks, pitting and color anomalies are the distinguishing traits of this age old process. The photo shows a typical color anomaly in our weathered bronze finish.
