Jennifer (Lawrence) Strohmaier
From 1995 until 2020, Jennifer (Lawrence) Strohmaier ‘68 served as a member of the UC Davis, County of San Mateo CAL Aggie Alumni Scholarship Committee, which reviews, selects, interviews, and recommends high school students and community college student scholarship applicants based on their leadership essays. She says, “It was a very interesting opportunity to keep abreast of what the younger generations were thinking and doing in their communities. As I read the student essays I always wondered how young seniors from San Domenico compared with those in San Mateo County.” Jennifer continued to read leadership essays for UC Davis through June of 2021. When Jennifer is not working in her businesses, she enjoys being a member of the Sun Lakes Garden Club, where she has the opportunity to socialize on garden day trips throughout Arizona and listen to guest speakers on a variety of gardening topics. Jennifer recounts, “This is a quote that was on a slide shared yesterday at the garden club: ‘Weeds (wild foods) are in every country of the world, so it’s beyond me why there is world hunger. An entire civilization is walking on their food.’ That quote reminded me of San Domenico’s Garden of Hope and sustainability.” Currently, as a Bra Fit Specialist with Essential Bodywear, Jennifer makes donations to Project Uplift, where help is provided to the I Support the Girls organization.
