"It Wasn't Our Missile": Trump Denies US Role In Deadly Iran School Strike
The United States has denied any involvement in a deadly school strike in Iran, with President Trump rejecting claims that US missiles were used in the attack. The incident has sparked strong reactions and confusion, as questions continue to mount over who was responsible. Amid rising tensions, calls for an independent investigation are growing internationally.
The United States has denied any involvement in a deadly school strike in Iran after accusations linked the attack to US-supplied missiles or coordination.
President Trump firmly rejected the claims, stating that “it wasn’t our missile” and insisting that Washington had no operational role in the incident. According to initial reports, the strike targeted a school compound in northern Iran, causing significant casualties and drawing international concern. Iranian authorities have blamed external actors for the incident, while independent verification of the weapon system used remains ongoing. The White House has called for restraint and urged all parties to avoid escalating tensions in the region,
emphasizing the need for diplomatic channels to remain open. Meanwhile, international observers are seeking clarity on the origin of the strike, with several governments urging a transparent investigation to determine responsibility and prevent
further escalation. Analysts warn that the incident could further strain already fragile US-Iran relations amid heightened regional tensions and ongoing disputes over military activity and security in the Middle East. Officials said investigations are
Mamdani’s NYC Win a ‘Political Earthquake’ for Democrats
New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani delivered a major political breakthrough as his endorsed insurgent candidates defeated two incumbents and a party-backed contender in congressional primaries. The results, described by some observers as a “political earthquake,” have intensified debate within the Democratic Party over its future direction. All three winning candidates are linked to the Democratic Socialists of America and support progressive policies such as universal
healthcare and ending U.S. military support for Israel’s operations in Gaza. The victories were hailed by progressive
Trump Seeks $1.4B Ebola Funding From Congress
WASHINGTON - The White House is planning to seek more than $1.4 billion in new funds from Congress to address the widening Ebola virus outbreak as soon as Wednesday, according to a Trump administration official. However, several Democratic lawmakers urged caution, arguing the results may reflect New York’s unique political landscape rather than a national shift.
Others warned against overinterpreting the outcomes, while acknowledging increased pressure on the party to address internal divisions between its moderate and progressive wings ahead of future elections.
Trump-Netanyahu Call Revealed in New Book
A heated phone call, accusations of betrayal, and a blunt warning from Donald Trump to Benjamin Netanyahu are among the revelations in a new book chronicling Trump's second term.
US President Donald Trump allegedly lashed out at Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu during a heated phone call in September 2025, telling him that “all the Jews are sick of you” and demanding that he accept a US-backed Gaza ceasefire, according to a new book by New York Times reporters Maggie Haberman and Jonathan Swan. The revelations come as questions persist over the relationship between Trump and Netanyahu, despite close US-Israel coordination during the Iran conflict and ongoing fighting in Lebanon and Gaza.

Zelensky “Courageous”,
Fighting Well: Trump
US President Donald Trump said Wednesday that his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelensky -- whom he previously said lacked the "cards" to win -- is doing well in the war against invading Russian forces.
"He's doing pretty well. He's holding his own, at least. A lot of people dying on both sides, but I think he's doing pretty well," Trump said of Zelensky in remarks to journalists in the Oval Office.
"You have to say he's courageous, he's got great equipment, but he's got great men, he's got fighters."
Analysts say Ukraine is increasingly holding up well on the battlefield but its cities are still the target of deadly Russian attacks in a conflict that has now lasted longer than World War I. Trump and Zelensky most recently met during the G7 summit in France, where leaders agreed to intensify pressure on Russia to end more than four years of war with Ukraine. Afterward, Zelensky posted to Twitter that he was "grateful to President Trump for his attention to Ukraine and his readiness to help bring peace closer."

F-1 DREAMS CUT SHORT
An Indian student from Hyderabad who was on a valid F-1 visa in the US got the shock of his life when he was not allowed to board his connecting flight from Amsterdam to the US. He was headed to New York’s JFK airport from Hyderabad when CBP officers informed him that his visa did not have any validity and he could not travel.
The student was stunned and did not know what to do but without a valid visa his only option was to return back to India. The student cited that he did not know about his visa revocation and he had no criminal record not even a DUI or a traffic violation that could have led to this ordeal.
The student arrived to the US in January 2025 on a F-1 visa and after he was refused traveling to the US he was told that his visa was revoked in July 2025. The student said he had no idea about this revocation.
USHA
VANCE ON FAITH
Usha Vance, wife of U.S. Vice President JD Vance, has spoken about growing up in a Hindu household and how her faith differs from her husband's spiritual journey. In an interview with CBS News, Usha said she was raised by Indian immigrant parents in Southern California and never felt the same need to seek a different faith as JD Vance, who converted from atheism to Catholicism. The couple said they are raising their children in the Christian church while also teaching them about their mother's Hindu background, beliefs and family traditions. Usha described her journey as one of understanding her husband's evolving faith rather than undergoing a religious transformation of her own.
Indian-Origin Lawyer Faces $255K Fine
ICE has moved to fine Indianorigin immigration attorney Vinod Doddamani over alleged fraudulent asylum filings and false documents in US courts.
Indian-origin immigration attorney Vinod Doddamani is facing a proposed fine of more than $255,000 after U.S. authorities accused him of filing fraudulent asylum documents for clients, many of them Indian nationals. Investigators allege that dozens of applications contained nearly identical stories, personal accounts and supporting details, raising concerns that some claims may have been copied or fabricated. According to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), 64 questionable documents were filed in 32 separate immigration cases. Federal authorities claim the similarities between the applications were significant enough to trigger a detailed investigation. The Department of Homeland Security has issued
Venezuela rocked by twin quakes
Venezuela was struck by two powerful earthquakes, prompting authorities to declare an emergency and launch rapid response measures in affected areas.
Officials said the quakes were among the strongest recorded in the country in more than a century, sending residents rushing into the streets and causing panic across several regions. Emergency teams were deployed to
assess damage to buildings, roads and public infrastructure. Authorities also inspected hospitals, schools and essential services to ensure public safety. While reports of structural damage emerged from some areas, officials continued to evaluate the full extent of the impact.
The tremors were felt across a wide area and were followed by concerns about possible aftershocks. Residents were urged to remain alert and follow instructions from emergency management agencies. Government officials assured the public that rescue and relief teams were on standby and that resources were being mobilized to assist affected communities. The earthquakes serve as a reminder of the region's seismic vulnerability and the importance of preparedness in the face of natural disasters.
multiple notices seeking civil penalties against Doddamani, saying the action is part of a broader effort to protect the integrity of the U.S. immigration system.
The lawyer has not been convicted, and the allegations remain under legal review. He will have an opportunity to challenge the government's findings through the legal process. Nevertheless, the case has attracted widespread attention because it is one of the first major U.S. enforcement actions aimed directly at an immigration attorney rather than the asylum applicants themselves.
Legal experts say the outcome could have far-reaching implications for immigration law practices across the country.

‘Provided aid to enemy’
Donald Trump blasts US Senate over Iran war powers resolution, calling it “meaningless” and accusing lawmakers of aiding the enemy by restricting his authority on military action. He strongly criticised the move, saying it weakens US security and undermines presidential power during rising tensions with Iran. The Senate resolution, aimed at limiting unilateral military action without congressional approval, has triggered a sharp political clash between the White House and lawmakers over war authority and national security decisionmaking.
US court eases deportation of green card holders
The US Supreme Court has made it easier for authorities to deport green card holders accused of certain crimes, strengthening the government’s immigration enforcement powers. The ruling clarifies how immigration laws apply to lawful permanent residents facing criminal allegations and could affect thousands of non-citizens living in the United States. Supporters say the decision improves public safety and helps remove offenders more quickly, while critics argue it may weaken legal protections for longterm residents.

The meeting was attended by state ministers, district collectors from vulnerable regions, experts from the Indian Council of Agricultural Research, and officials from the IMD and the Agriculture Ministry. Citing IMD forecasts, he warned that rainfall may remain weak through the week ending July 2, which could affect rainfed agriculture and crop sowing across key regions.

The vote is being viewed as a rare bipartisan challenge to President Trump’s foreign policy approach. However, the measure faces an uncertain future, as it must clear additional legislative hurdles and could face a presidential veto.
The development comes amid heightened tensions between Washington and Tehran following recent military strikes and security threats in the region. The Senate’s action signals a strong message that many lawmakers want Congress to play a larger role in decisions involving war and peace.

US citizenship fee hike: impact on Green Card holders and Indians
HiIndia Newsdesk
The Trump administration’s proposal to increase US citizenship fees has sparked concern among Green Card holders, particularly within the Indian diaspora, one of the largest immigrant communities in the United States.
The plan aims to revise the existing naturalisation fee structure, making the path to citizenship more expensive. While supporters argue that the increase will help cover administrative costs and improve processing efficiency, critics believe it could create additional financial barriers for legal immigrants seeking citizenship.

Proposed policy may raise cost and delay naturalisation process
permanently, the fee hike may delay applications or force families to reconsider the timing of their naturalisation process.
Indian nationals, who form a significant share of applicants each year, are expected to be among the most affected groups.
Immigration experts say that even a moderate increase in fees can have a strong impact on lower and middleincome applicants, as citizenship already involves multiple costs, including legal documentation, biometric fees, and test preparation. The proposal is still under review and would require further approval before implementation. If passed, it could reshape the affordability of US citizenship and influence future immigration trends significantly.
Go Back to Your Country’: Why Advocates Are Fighting to Save California’s Anti-Hate Program
Zofeen Maqsood
With anti-South Asian hate incidents increasing and immigrant communities reporting growing discrimination, and immigration-related targeting, advocates are urging California lawmakers to renew the state’s landmark Stop the Hate program. Manjusha Kulkarni, executive director of AAPI Equity Alliance and co-founder of Stop AAPI Hate, warns that allowing the funding to expire would dismantle critical support systems for victims and send a troubling message to communities already facing heightened hostility.
ACalifornia state funding program, Stop the Hate, was created due to a rise in anti-Asian hate crimes during the Covid era. The funding has granted over $100 million to community organizations across the state and has also inspired states, like New York and Illinois to combat hate.
Manjusha Kulkarni, executive director, AAPI Equity Alliance and co-founder Stop AAPI Hate, and AAPI Equity Alliance talks about why the program is important for Indian Americans and all immigrant communities.
Hi India: More than $100 million has been distributed through the program. Can you share some examples of how that funding has made a tangible difference on the ground?
Manjusha Kulkarni: After a mass robbery targeted 30 South Asian families living in the same neighborhood, victims Nishad and Anita faced racial prejudice from responding police officers who blamed the community for the crimes, saying they were “asking for it” with their “Indian clothes and jewelry." In response, Stop The Hate partner organization Saahas for Cause mobilized 100 community members to speak at a City Council meeting to pressure local officials to address the discrimination. Their efforts successfully led to new safety measures, including improved response time, cultural bias training for local law enforcement, and installation of neighborhood street lights and cameras.
Fahim, a Pakistani Muslim man, entered his Hollywood apartment elevator when a white neighbor made eye contact with him, spit on him, and called him a terrorist. When Fahim started recording, the offender attacked him, threatened to “grab his strap and kill” him, and eventually pulled out a gun. Fahim contacted the local prosecutor’s office but they sympathized with the attacker and declined to press charges. Fahim connected with Stop The Hate partner organization Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR)-LA,
who got a City Attorney to file six counts, including terrorist threats, battery, improper storage of a weapon, and drawing a firearm. In the end, the case was excused because the offender lacked a criminal record, but CAIR’s advocacy forced the offender to face his violent acts.
John, a Bangladeshi international student, was working when he spotted ICE coming towards him. He froze as the officers stopped him, demanding to see his drivers’ license and work permit. Unaware of his right to remain silent, John quickly obeyed, relieved that he was carrying his permit that day. The officers closely inspected his cards and eventually released him. John noticed that no one else on the street was stopped. John was encouraged to share his experience with Stop the Hate partner organization South Asian Network. When he reached out, he learned that ICE racially profiled him and violated his rights. With SAN’s support, he now shares his story to mobilize the international student community to stay vigilant and exercise their rights.
We think of Stop the Hate as a social safety net, with the ability to respond to folks who’ve been affected by hate. Oftentimes when a person is first confronted by hate, they have one of several reactions: shock, anger, hurt, or even resignation. Our programs help folks who have been so deeply affected by hate and discrimination that they cannot get out of bed to go to school or work. We’ve supported folks who experience suicidal thoughts because they’ve been made to feel they don’t belong. We’ve been able to provide otherwise inaccessible legal support in multiple languages, so folks can stand up for their right to be free from discrimination in their housing and workplace. We work with youth who are experiencing high levels of hate and bullying in school and society, helping them to navigate their peer groups and break the cycle of hate; we work with seniors who have been afraid to leave their homes, empowering them with personal safety trainings and community connection so that they may continue to participate in society.
Hi India: What lessons can other states learn from California's approach?
Manjusha Kulkarni: It is important for states to take a stand against hate by supporting victims of hate and their families in the aftermath of hate. It says, we stand with you, you are not alone. It is important for state leaders to regularly, repeatedly, and publicly say that hate is not acceptable in our state. The anti-hate movement needs to have support from top leadership while also being community-driven. This takes everyone. No one can do this work alone. Other states can learn just how critical it is to build up community resources that focus not only on healing from hate, but on preventing it from happening in the first place. The work of the Stop the Hate program stems from the understanding that hate is both a public safety and a public health crisis. We offer resources that run the gamut from providing professional legal advice to mental health counseling to Know Your Rights workshops and beyond. California’s approach to fighting hate reveals how crucial it is to invest in building systems of community empowerment and clear-cut, easy to access legal and mental health services so that no one is left to face hate by themselves. The financial argument in support of the Stop The Hate program is also undeniable. A Bard College Study calculated that nationally, in 2019, the total cost of hate crimes was $3.7 billion. The study posits that this number is likely a vast underestimate - the cost of hate is likely much higher. The state of California invested $140 million over 4 years in the Stop the hate program - a fraction of what hate costs our economy . This vital program has supported thousands of Californians in healing from nefarious acts of hate. In Los Angeles County, the cost of supporting victims of hate through the Stop the Hate program has been just $18 per person. These numbers alone illustrate how funding anti-hate work is not only the moral thing to do, but it is also a smart financial investment.

US Eases Oil Curbs, Iran Rejects Nuclear Claim
Iran rejected US Vice-President JD Vance’s claim that it would allow nuclear inspectors back into the country, saying no new commitments were made during talks in Switzerland. The two sides agreed to pursue a final deal within 60 days, while the US temporarily eased oil sanctions, allowing Iran to sell crude in US dollars and access global banking, insurance and shipping services. Washington said Tehran would keep the Strait of Hormuz open and permit inspections, but Iran insisted any cooperation would follow existing national procedures. President Trump warned of further action if Iran failed to honour any agreement, even as both sides continued technical discussions aimed at preserving regional ceasefires and securing commercial shipping routes.

SpaceX stunned investors with a blockbuster market listing, briefly reaching a record valuation. However, the celebration was short-lived as the company lost an estimated $600 billion in market value within just three trading days. Despite the setback, SpaceX remains one of the world's most valuable private space and technology companies.
Trump warns Iran: Honour deal or face action
Iran War: Trump and Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian signed an interim US-Iran deal last week, more than three months after the US and Israel attacked Iran and Iran responded with its own attacks on Israel and Gulf states with US bases.
US President Donald Trump has warned Iran that Washington will take strong action if Tehran does not stick to any future agreement emerging from ongoing negotiations. Speaking after the first round of talks held in Switzerland, Trump said, “I will do what I have to do,” reinforcing a tough stance even as diplomatic efforts continue. The talks, involving US and Iranian officials with mediation support, are aimed at reaching a broader settlement within 60 days covering nuclear concerns, regional stability and sanctions relief. The warning came alongside a temporary
US move to ease certain oil-related sanctions, allowing limited Iranian oil exports and financial transactions for a 60-day period. Despite this, tensions remain high as Iran rejected US claims that it had agreed to allow international nuclear inspectors back into the country. Iranian officials insisted that no new commitments were made and that any engagement with nuclear monitors

Bollywood actress Sonakshi Sinha may have built a strong presence in the digital world with over a million subscribers on YouTube, but she insists that acting remains her true passion. The actress recently spoke about her journey in cinema, the evolving beauty standards in Indian films, and the influence of her mother’s timeless skincare practices while attending Amazon Beautyverse.
Having spent over 15 years in the film industry, Sonakshi views content creation as an extension of her connection with audiences rather than a full-time profession. Through her makeup tutorials and personal vlogs, she has cultivated a loyal online following, but she does not see it as her primary career path.
Speaking about her presence on digital platforms, Sonakshi said, “The digital space has really flourished in the last few years, and it's also a great way for me to reach my audience directly, which is why I'm on it. The actress emphasized that while she enjoys engaging with fans online, acting will always remain at the heart of her professional journey. Sonakshi also reflected on how beauty has been represented in Indian cinema over the years. Describing beauty as limitless, she praised the film industry for showcasing diverse forms of beauty through generations of actresses.
“I love the fact that Indian cinema has been able to represent beauty in its true form right from the very beginning. There have been icons, actresses who have really come into their own, actresses who carry a part of themselves and

New Sea Route Into America? 25
Chinese Nationals Caught Near Florida
Twenty-five Chinese nationals were intercepted off the Florida coast while allegedly attempting to enter the United States illegally by boat. The incident has raised questions about a possible new maritime route as border enforcement along the Mexican and Canadian frontiers tightens.
According to the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, the U.S. Coast
Guard stopped a boat near Key Biscayne, Florida, on June 10. The vessel ignored repeated warnings to stop, forcing officers to fire warning shots and eventually disable its engine. Authorities found 25 Chinese citizens on board and have begun deportation
proceedings.
Officials have not disclosed how the boat reached Florida. Experts say the Caribbean maritime route is among the most dangerous paths used by migrants seeking to enter the United States. Several fatal incidents have been linked to such journeys in recent years, including cases involving Indian migrants. As landborder security increases, traffickers appear to be exploring alternative routes despite the significant risks involved.

Indian American Ex-Judge K P George Heads to Jail
HOUSTON, TX — Suspended Fort Bend County
Judge K.P. George has been sentenced to 180 days in jail and five years of probation after being convicted on two felony money laundering charges related to the misuse of campaign funds.
The sentence, handed down on June 16, also includes a $5,000 fine, 200 hours of community service, and completion of an anti-theft program. George filed an appeal shortly after the ruling, placing the sentence on hold until the appeals process is completed.
The case stems from financial transactions that prosecutors said occurred during the early months of George’s tenure in 2019. Authorities alleged that campaign funds were transferred into personal accounts and later used for personal expenses, including a home down payment and property tax payments. A jury found George guilty earlier this year. George was arrested and indicted in April 2025. He has consistently denied wrongdoing, arguing that the transactions represented repayment of a legal loan he had made to his campaign. Born in Kerala, India, George immigrated to the United States and entered public service after a career in financial planning. In 2018, he became the first South Asian elected as Fort Bend County Judge and was re-elected in 2022. George was suspended from office in April following his conviction. Earlier this year, he also lost the 2026 Republican primary for county judge after switching parties in 2025.

$700K Gold Scam: Indian Buyer Left With Chocolate Coins
GRAND RAPIDS, MI- Yug B.
Chauhan, a 20-year-old Illinois resident, is being held at the Kent County Jail in Michigan after his arrest in May during a police sting operation tied to an alleged gold scam. Chauhan faces two felony charges and is also subject to an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) hold.
Authorities said Chauhan arrived to collect what he believed was a delivery of approximately $700,000 worth of gold. Instead, he was handed a bag of chocolate coins by an undercover officer before being taken into custody.
Following his arrest, Chauhan told investigators that he was working as a courier for an individual identified only as “Bhawsh.”
According to police reports, the two communicated primarily in Hindi through WhatsApp, and Chauhan said he had never met the person in real life. He told investigators that he had been instructed to take an Uber from a gas station to a doughnut shop, where he was supposed to retrieve the package.
The case began when a 79-year-old widow received a phone call from someone claiming to be a Social Security official. The caller allegedly told her that her financial assets were being used to support terrorism and urged her to convert $700,000 into gold to protect her money.
Reflecting on the ordeal, the woman told police, “It’s really kind of

The woman attempted to purchase the gold from Grand Rapids Coins.

investment itself despite the large amount of money involved.
“I got the feeling she was really being pushed to come up with a substantial amount of gold fast, and not for the reason that she initially mentioned,” Soldaat said. “Somebody was pushing her in a direction she didn’t want to go.” Soldaat delayed the transaction and contacted local authorities.
While police were at the woman’s home investigating the situation, the caller—who identified himself as “Eric”—contacted her again to inquire about the status of the gold delivery. Detectives then organized a sting operation, which ultimately led to Chauhan’s arrest.
The investigation remains ongoing as authorities work to identify others who may have been involved in the alleged scheme.
HOROSCOPE
Teja, a native of Hyderabad, was reportedly returning from a friend’s graduation ceremony when the vehicle he was traveling in was struck by a car allegedly driven by a minor. The crash left him with life-threatening injuries, including a severe brain injury, a fractured jaw and a fractured left leg. He is currently receiving treatment in the intensive care unit at Baptist Medical Center South and remains unconscious. A friend who was traveling with him, identified as Akhil, sustained minor injuries. Teja recently completed his master’s
degree in the United States and was actively seeking employment. According to reports, he did not have health insurance at the time of the accident.
Doctors have indicated that recovery from such extensive injuries is expected to be prolonged and uncertain. If he regains consciousness, he will likely require comprehensive rehabilitation, including neurological care, physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy and ongoing medical treatment.
Teja’s father and brother remain in India, while friends and relatives in the United States are coordinating his care and helping cover mounting medical and rehabilitation expenses through an online fundraising campaign.

Detentions and Deportation Actions Rise Among
WASHINGTON, DC - For hundreds of thousands of young immigrants, the creation of Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) in 2012 transformed daily life. The program provided protection from deportation and renewable work authorization, allowing recipients to pursue education, careers, and family life with greater security. DACA enabled people like Esmeralda to obtain a driver’s license, Faten to attend college after graduating from high school, and Daniel to live without the constant fear of deportation. Today, however, many DACA recipients face renewed uncertainty as the Trump administration advances policies that undermine these protections and increase the risk of detention and deportation.
Despite claims that immigration enforcement targets dangerous criminals, advocates report that longtime residents with no criminal records are increasingly being affected. Mothers, fathers, workers, and community members who have spent decades in the
United States are being detained or removed from the country they consider home.
The administration has pursued multiple strategies that weaken DACA. Significant processing delays for DACA renewals have left many recipients unable to work legally while waiting for approvals.
In April 2026, the Board of Immigration Appeals
DACA Recipients
ruled that DACA status alone is not sufficient grounds to terminate removal proceedings, further reducing protections against deportation. Legal challenges also continue to threaten the program. A 2025 Fifth Circuit Court decision upheld DACA’s protection from deportation but found its work authorization provisions unlawful, limiting employment opportunities for recipients in Texas.
Meanwhile, the Department of Homeland Security has reported detaining more than 260 DACA recipients and deporting over 80. Immigrant-rights advocates describe these developments as a gradual dismantling of the program.
Yet public support remains strong. A 2025 Gallup poll found that 80% of Americans favor granting permanent legal status to individuals brought to the United States as children. DACA recipients contribute nearly $17 billion annually to the economy and are deeply woven into American communities.
