It also honored Oak Brook as AAPI’s headquarters for more than 30 years and recognized past presidents Dr. Gopal Lalmalani and Dr. Reddy, along with current President Dr. Meher Medavaram. AAPI presented Mayor Herman with its Distinguished Leadership Award. Medavaram described AAPICON 2027 as a platform for scientific innovation, physician wellness, mentorship, global health and humanitarian service. She encouraged attendees to become ambassadors, innovators, mentors and team-builders. Convention Chair Dr. Umang Patel pledged to help deliver one of AAPI’s most memorable conventions. Treasurer Dr. Sujeeth Punnam outlined ambitious fundraising and attendance goals, supported by Senior Advisor Dr. Bharat Barai. Additional speakers included IMA Telangana President Dr. Dwarakanatha Reddy; Dr. Lalmalani, who reflected on milestones in AAPI’s history; Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi, who urged greater civic participation; and past president Dr. Ranga Reddy, who offered guidance from previous Chicago conventions. WASHINGTON, DC -– IKrishna Tripuraneni, a retired Florida gastroenterologist seeking a presidential pardon from President Donald Trump, donated $1 million to Trump-aligned political action committee MAGA Inc. in June, according to Federal Election Commission filings. The contribution came while Tripuraneni’s pardon application remains pending. Earlier this year, he applied to the Office of the U.S. Pardon Attorney for a “pardon after completion of sentence” following a two-year prison term in a federal tax fraud case. There is no evidence that the contribution was made in exchange for a pardon, and it is not known whether the donation is connected to his application. The Hindustan Times, which reported on the contribution, placed it in the context of concerns raised by organizations including the Brennan Center for Justice about major political donors receiving favorable legal treatment. Tripuraneni’s contribution makes him one of the largest Indian American donors to Trump and the

WASHINGTON, DC - The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is introducing an interim final rule that will allow U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) to require electronic filing, or e-filing, for certain immigration forms. Under the rule, USCIS may require any immigration form that has been available for electronic filing for at least 180 days to be submitted online. USCIS will provide at least 60 days’ notice on its website before making e-filing mandatory for a particular form. Filers subject to an electronic filing requirement will need to use a USCIS
