Seizing Opportunity Opportunities are abundant around Tech Square, which is one of the many reasons why people gather here. This spring presented new opportunities for individuals and companies requiring swift and creative action which we cheered on and admired. Atlanta hosting Super Bowl LIII presented new opportunities to create meaningful connections in the community. To name a few, Microsoft set up a week long partner lounge, the Collegiate Cup was created and hosted its inaugural competition, and the NFL hosted their 1st and Future event managed by ATDC on Tech’s campus. Connections were also made around the topic of Health & Wellness, with individuals joining in on Power Meal discussions and showing off their latest ideas at Show & Tell. Recognizing and seizing opportunities that present themselves - and the experience those memories those create - is a hallmark of the Tech Square community and what sets us apart.

If you could trade one bad attribute about yourself for a good one, what would you choose? What is your idea of perfect happiness? Which historical figure do you most identify with? Insights Building Better Health Care “Love is part of good health. A person can be mentally healthy and not physically healthy. “ -Brandy Nagel, Georgia Tech Innovative Health “Here are some components of an innovative ecosystems- Collaboration, support for entrepreneurs, bridging the gap between large and small health systems, incentivizing better way of doing things, resourcing and supporting startups, and mindset shifts.” -Tonie Gordon, Anthem Technology of Thriving “Like a flower, if you do not have the adequate resources it is hard to grow and thrive. Technology can help communities and individuals thrive by improving effectiveness and increase access to needed resources.” -Amelia Davis, Tech Square ATL State of Mind “There are good stressors and bad stressors, we react differently to each type. In the work setting, one-on-ones with team members are good to discuss outside of work items and check in with one another.” -Aleshia Eckard, Siemens Mobility

Show & Tell This season’s Show&Tell featured 17 exhibitors showing off their research and advancements in the Health & Wellness field. “Most of us are really not going to change the world. We’re going to change the way people understand the world, and that is the basis for change.” -Sam Zamarripa (Intent Solutions)
“Lasers and nano-particles will be used to treat cancer at the site of the tumor. If we can get a satellite in outer space, to pinpoint any singular cell phone, anywhere in the planet, why can’t we use that kind of precision to treat cancer?” -Hadiyah-Nicole Green (Ora Lee Smith Cancer Research Foundation)

Health & Wellness “The healthcare system will be changed by reducing health costs and working with rural hospitals to funnel more patients to them, from the higher populated urban hospitals.” Tee Faircloth (Coordinated Care)
“As we try to drive vehicles in a safe manner, we have to understand the cognitive state of the individual. When ordering automated car services, we will want to measure an individual’s comfort level.” -Hans Troemel (Panasonic Automotive)
