Men’s Wellness and Appreciation Day
June is National Men’s Health Awareness Month, and just ahead of Father’s Day, the Sandals Resorts in the Montego Bay region joined Jamaica’s Rural Agricultural Development Authority (RADA) in honoring farming fathers in St. James at a Men’s Wellness and Appreciation Day event. The event focused on the vital role men play in agriculture, family, and community life. Farmers received free health screenings, including blood pressure and prostate checks, eye exams, and spa treatments. The day also featured talks on nutrition, mental wellness, safe pesticide use, and sustainable farming. A special ceremony recognized veteran farmers for their service, with gifts, tools, and certificates presented. Two standout farmers were even awarded Sandals day passes. The event served as a powerful reminder of the hardworking men who help feed Jamaica while nurturing both their families and their communities.

Sandals Grande Antigua Ignites Teamwork and Learning with "Sandals Knowledge Bowl"
Sandals Grande Antigua is taking employee engagement to a whole new level with the launch of its vibrant and interactive Sandals Knowledge Bowl. This high-energy, interdepartmental quiz competition is the brainchild of General Manager David Latchimy and the Learning and Development team. Its goal is simple: to foster collaboration, teamwork, and a deeper understanding of the resort’s key operating procedures.
The Knowledge Bowl injects fun and friendly competition into the learning process. Teams from various departments go head-to-head, answering a diverse range of questions designed to test their knowledge of everything from critical company policies and customer service standards to fascinating facts about Antigua and Barbuda’s vibrant tourism landscape.
The questions are carefully curated to cover all areas of the resort’s operations – reinforcing best practices and promoting a unified understanding of the Sandals brand. This innovative approach not only tests what employees know, but also encourages them to learn from one another, building a culture of collaboration and mutual support.
“The Sandals Knowledge Bowl is more than just a quiz; it’s an opportunity for our team members to connect, learn, and grow together,” explains GM Latchimy.
“We believe that continuous learning is essential to providing exceptional service, and this interactive format makes the process engaging and memorable,” adds Learning and Development Manager Carlene Spencer.
This initiative is a strong testament to Sandals Grande Antigua’s unwavering commitment to continuous learning and development. By embracing this creative training method, the resort is reinforcing knowledge, boosting morale, and creating a dynamic work environment where every team member feels empowered to excel.
The Sandals Knowledge Bowl is a win-win –supporting both personal and professional growth while ultimately enhancing the guest experience. It’s a shining example of how learning can be both effective and enjoyable, proving that a little friendly competition can go a long way.

Cohort G Completes Diploma in Hospitality Leadership Programme
A new class of hospitality leaders has officially graduated, as Cohort G joined the ranks of team members who have successfully completed the Diploma in Hospitality Leadership – a transformative programme designed to empower Sandals managers and supervisors with the tools to lead with purpose and impact.
