Get Inspired!

Dear Friends,

Thanks for being here -” showing up” has been a hallmark of our islands; volunteers are our backbone in many ways. While we are aiming to embrace newcomers and “not-involved-yet” folks, many of you have been a key ingredient for years, so THANK YOU!

The idea for the Get Inspired! SanCap Volunteer Expo grew out of a desire to help our community rebuild after the devastation wrought by Hurricane Ian. The Leadership Sanibel-Captiva Class of 2022 (listed to the right) was planning the 2023 leadership class just as Ian hit. The program will resume in 2024, but as you can see, the 2022 class was a huge success since the graduates are doing exactly what they were trained to do: LEAD.

Our history here is intelligent growth and living with nature. There is a great desire to help to rebuild. With this gathering we hope to reinforce connections for some, connect newcomers to the islands with greater understanding…inspire your involvement with our nonprofit activist organizations.

With great appreciation,

Letter from Our Sponsor

As the first Chair of the Charitable Foundation of the Islands (CFI), I am keenly aware of how important CFI is to the communities of Sanibel and Captiva. The Get Inspired! SanCap Volunteer Expo is a great example of how we can work together to strengthen our sense of community and build back our islands to be stronger and more resilient than ever.

The Sanibel Captiva Trust Company is honored to sponsor this evening’s event as well as the Nonprofit Directory. I would like to thank the Leadership Sanibel-Captiva Class of 2022 for stepping up at a time when your community needs you. Today Sanibel and Captiva are working to reimagine themselves. Committed citizens will make the difference in how our islands look over the next decade.

The mission of the The Sanibel Captiva Trust Company is to advise and care for our clients and their families through life’s transitions. Since our inception on Sanibel in 2001, we have faithfully served this community we love. I invite you to contact us at The Trust Company to assist you now and in the future.

Warm regards,

S. Albert Hanser Founder and Chairman
