Capital campaign: phase 1 impact report 2026
YOUR LEGACY
lasting impact
Dear Friends and Supporters,
Campaign at a glance:
On behalf of everyone at San Antonio Zoo, thank you for your generous investment in the Generation Zoo Capital Campaign. Because of your support, Phase 1 has become a reality, transforming our institution with the new San Antonio -inspired entrance, Naylor Savanna, The Ralston, and Congo Falls, our world-class western lowland gorilla habitat.
Generation Zoo Phase 1 included a new front entrance, event venue “The Ralston”, a 3-acre Gorilla habitat “Congo Falls”, and the “Naylor Savana”.
These projects are more than new spaces—they enhance animal care, create unforgettable guest experiences, and inspire millions of visitors to connect with wildlife and conservation in meaningful ways. Your generosity also strengthens our education programs, advances global conservation efforts, and contributes to the economic vitality of our community. I can proudly tell you that with these additions we are on track for the largest attendance year in the zoo’s 112-year history, enabling us to remain financially viable, and increase our mission impact both locally and abroad. As a private nonprofit organization, these transformational achievements are only possible because of visionary donors like you. Your investment is helping build a stronger future for wildlife, our community, and generations of zoo guests to come. Thank you for believing in this vision and for making it possible, and please feel to reach out to me or the team for any questions or a visit to the zoo! With sincere gratitude,
