Learning Spaces, Beyond Schooling Semester 6
Tutors: Mitesh Panchal, Anagha Joshi
Located in a primarily Jewish community and surrounded by structures of historical importance, including the Dokwerker statue in the site and the Portuguese Synagogue. Respecting the built context, the existing vegetation and history; the entire proposal is submerged into the ground, and the functions are divided based on public usage, with the central library and exhibition building interacting with the statue and the main schooling area. The geomorphic green roof is created to increase the community interaction with the school, and the form gives and impression of the school rising up from the ground - rising from the painful history towards a bright future

Floating Community ‘Pods’
Between Utopia and Reality : Reimaging Affordable Living for Millenials Semester 8
Tutors: Sandeep Amin, Shikha Parmar
Located in a high density commercial region, surrounded by universities, the project aims to target the millenial generation - the generation which is striving to make a living, and provide them with an oasis which would act as a stepping stone of their lives, by creating an opportunity for them to own a home. In this urban landscape, it becomes necessary to create a soothing environment. The project is designed in a way that the shared spaced are internalised and the housing units are organised on the periphery of the site. The atrium inside is laced with “pods” – casual interactive spaces. The roof is also designed in a way to cater to vast number of communal activities.

Book Studio, Kamati Baug
Design Fundamentals of Space Making Semester 4
Tutors: Percy Pithawala, Krishna Shah
The book studio is a space which should be seen primarily as a place for book promotions by authors and writers rather than a book store or a library. A place which organizes book readings and promotions, author signings and exhibitions among other things rather than just being a place for reading books. The pavilion attempts to incorporate the language of the planetarium’s façade, to achieve similar pyramidal openings. The planetarium can be seen as a alien ship and the pavilion acts as a bridge between the terrestrial and extra - terrestrial.

Workplace Neighbourhoods Semester 7
Tutors: Nimit Killawala, Prateek Banerjee
The project is proposed based on the collaboration between Academia, Government and Industry, located on an important junction of JVPD scheme - the Mumbai Selfie Point, which is an RG plot, surrounded by Joggers park on one edge and aerodome water body on the southern edge. The collaboration proposes a digital marketing and event management centre, which aims to provide its services as well as opportunities for community as well as the academia. Apart from that a ward office is also proposed for the K-West region, bringing in the government element. The project has a central spline running across the site, with three floors - lower for public activities, upper for private and middle for collaboration. Programs are organised to provide view towards the lake for high usage spaces and private functions along the V.M. Road’s edge.

Bamboo Structure
When Material Meets Design Semester 3
Tutors: Maulik Oza, Vishnu Kolleri
The idea is to explore various methods to create bamboo joineries and in turn design a system. The base idea was that since bamboo sections don’t come in consistent sizes. it might be beneficial to use bamboo members in sandwiching rather than join them in a single plane to increase strength of the system for creating a space frame, and use lashing to tie them.
