Guest Policy

The ‘Samarbeidsprinsipp’

The Samarbeidsprinsipp At Samvirk, we collaborate on accommodation at the Oslofjord Convention Center. We call this the Cooperation Principle or ‘Samarbeidsprinsippet’[1]. This means that those who use Brunstad are together in paying for it, generally via an accommodation agreement with Samvirk.

Therefore, there is a framework for who can be guests[2], and this guest policy describes what applies during conferences arranged by BCC Event.

Who can use your housing unit during the conference?

In order to have overnight guests in your booking, you or your spouse must also be staying overnight in that booking. An exception is that you or your spouse may allow ascending or descending relatives to use the accommodation unit when you are not present, as long as they satisfy the requirements in this policy.

Children under the age of 18 must always be supervised by an adult living in the same unit.

Who can be overnight guests?

The following individuals can be overnight guests in a suite or accommodation unit during conferences arranged by BCC Event: 1. Members who have a hotel agreement in Samvirk People who have 3,750 points (7,500 for couples) can be overnight guests at all conferences.

If you have fewer points and do not fall within any other category below, please read what applies to you in the section “Need for accommodation beyond your agreement”.

2. Persons who have a right-of-use agreement in Samvirk a) Members and their spouses who have a right-of-use agreement. b) Persons who are registered as future agreement owners on a right of use agreement.

3. Persons under the age of 29, or persons under guardianship Anyone who is younger than 29 or is turning 29 this year.

4. Persons who are 70 years old or older Anyone who turns 70 years old or older this year, and their spouses.

Exception: Those who have or have had a long-term agreement with Samvirk after 1 January 2023 and their spouses are not covered by this point.

5. Persons outside the following countries Anyone who falls within a ‘member circle’ (medlemskrets) in countries other than Norway, Denmark, Sweden, Finland, the Netherlands, Germany, Belgium, Switzerland, the UK, France and Austria (‘Western Europe’).

Note: Those who have moved from a country outside ‘Western Europe’ to one within ‘Western Europe’ can benefit from a two year transition period[3].

6. Persons with special permission Persons to whom Samvirk has given special permission to be an overnight guest. It is possible to apply for this by contacting Samvirk at kontakt@samvirk.com. The application is assessed based on principles established by the board. In certain cases, a limited permission may be granted.

7. Persons who have recently become BCC members Anyone who has joined BCC within the previous two years[4].

[3] During this transition period, such individuals would fall under the same conditions for accommodation as the member circle in the country they moved from.

[4] This refers to those who have joined any local congregation affiliated with the BCC Federation.

This point does not cover those who have moved from one local congregation to another.

Need for accommodation beyond your agreement

The following applies to persons covered by point 1 of the guest policy.

3,750 points = all conference days for one person Those who want to attend all the conferences their local church is invited to, need at least 3,750 points (7,500 for married couples).

With 3,750 points, you would not be able to book your own suite for all conference days, but you will be able to stay as an overnight guest for all conference days you’re invited to.

If you have fewer points and do not otherwise fall within this Guest Policy, you can stay overnight at a limited number of conference days. If you want to stay overnight beyond this, you must buy more points.

You can do this by upgrading your long-term hotel agreement or purchasing a 1-year hotel agreement that provides exactly the number of points you need for that year. This is how we support the Samarbeidsprinsipp.

You need an agreement to be a guest - not just to book your own accommodation You must have a hotel agreement with enough points to stay overnight at all the conference days to which your local church is invited - regardless of whether you stay in your own suite or are a guest of someone else.

As an overnight guest in someone else's booking, you do not use up your own points. You can use all the points in your hotel agreement(s) on your own bookings. The only thing you save by not using your points on your own booking is the variable resort fee.

Need for accommodation beyond your agreement

The following applies to persons covered by point 1 of the guest policy.

This is how many days your agreement covers BCC Event has recurring conferences. All the conferences your local church is invited to add up to a certain number of conference days, totaling 100%. Below is a table that shows how many per cent of these conference days your agreement covers.

You cannot be an overnight guest for only parts of a conference. If you do not have enough points for the entire conference, you must purchase more.

Couples Attending Different Numbers of Conference Days The table above assumes that both spouses are overnight guests on the same number of conference days. It is possible to split the conference days in other ways, if you wish.

For example, a married couple with 5,000 points may choose to have one spouse attend 100% of the conference days they are invited to while the other spouse attends only 33% of the conference days they are invited to.

Note that the distribution may have some natural limitations since you can only be an overnight guest at whole conferences.

Changes to this Guest Policy are determined by Samvirk's Board of Directors.
