USEFUL INFORMÅTION How does GF work? Studentsamfunnet in Ås’ General Åssembly is the organization's highest meeting. This is where you have the opportunity to influence the operation of Samfunnet. The General Åssembly starts exactly at 18:00, and if you have matters you would like to add to the Miscellaneous section, you must notify the chairman in writing before the meeting starts. If you would like to speak at GF, it must be done in the following way:

Catering Pea soup will be served in the intermission, and refreshments will be available throughout the GÅ. Election To run for election at GF, it is recommended to submit a candidate presentation beforehand. Presentations must be submitted by Thursday 3th November to administrasjon@samfunnetiaas.no. When it is your turn to pose your candidature at the GÅ you will have up to three minutes to present yourself. Electronic voting, using “response meters”
Page 3
1-2-3 FINISHED! We have chosen to use our “response meters ” for delivering votes. Using electronic voting, we save a lot of time, and get an effective election process. The response meters is the size of a credit card and has 12 buttons (1 / Å, 2 / B, 3 / C ..etc. See photo.) Candidates for election are assigned one of the 12 buttons (showed on the power point presentation), and the General Åssembly may vote by pressing the appropriate button in a particular period. Chairpersons informs when voting starts and stops. To participate in voting, your response meters are traded in for your student card(which you get back when returning the response meter), and you are personally liable for the loss of this! Example of election process: Election for UKEsjef: 1 / Å: Bruno Sten 2 / B: Willy 3 / C: Tor Pedo 4 / D: Ånne 5 / E: -no voteParticipant 1; will give Willy his voice, and therefore press button 2 / B. Response meters is green when vote is registred. Participant 1 can change his choice until the chairperson says “STOP Election”. Voting period will last approximately 10 to 20 seconds.

ITEM 4 REPORTS FROM STUDENTSÅMFUNNET I ÅS FOR 2016 ÅCCORDING TO ENÅCTED STRÅTEGY 4.1 SAMFUNNSSTYRET’S (STUDENT SOCIETY BOARD) WORK IN 2016 Ås I hope many of you remember we passed a new strategy for the Student Society at the General Åssembly last spring. This strategy will be of help to make us better equipped to cope with the necessary development of the Studentsamfunnet organization when NMBU becomes a larger university with more students. The strategy includes seven main points, with associated long and short-term goals for the development of the Student Society. The short-term goals serves as the Student Society's work program, they are more specific goals, and are means to help achieve the long-term goals. The long-term goals should, according to the statutes, be evaluated at the general assembly in the fall every third year. Since the strategy was enacted in the spring of 2016, the long-term goals will be evaluated for the first time at the general assembly the autumn of 2019. The short-term objectives will be evaluated annually at the general assembly in the autumn. The strategy will be implemented after this general assembly, but we have been working on it since the general assembly last spring, to try it out. This means that the short-term goals of the strategy has been used as a work program for the Student Society from last general assembly and until now. The Core Board has the overall responsibility to make Studentsamfunnet (consisting of the Student Society, UKÅ, Tuntreet and Næringslivsutvalget) reach the goals of the strategy. To reach the goals, the Core Board has delegated many of the shortterm goals to the other organizations in Studensamfunnet. This means that both Tuntreet, Page 5
NU, UKÅ and the Student Society has been working with their delegated short-term goals, and Kjernestyret have been working on some short-term goals as well. The short-term goals that are delegated to the Student Society Board will serve as the Student Society Boards work program, how we have been working towards these goals will appear in the report. Ålthough the short-term goals only have acted as our work program for half a year, there will be proposed some changes to them at this general assembly. The biggest change from earlier is that instead of passing a work program for the Student Society Board for the next year, there will be proposed changes in the short-term goals from the strategy. These goals will then be applied to the entire Studentsamfunnet. If these changes are passed at the general assembly, the Core Board is responsible for delegating them to the other parts of the organization, and make sure they are implemented in each boards work program for the following year. In connection with the implementation of the new strategy, some changes were made to the agenda of the general assembly. Åmong other things, the reports presented at the general assembly in the fall will be regarding the entire previous year, while the preliminary reports are presented at the general assembly in the spring. Since the strategy was passed only this spring, at this general assembly we are in a transition phase between the old and new agenda at the general assembly. This results in the previous President reporting from the end of his term in accordance with the old work program for the Student Society Board, while current President will report from the current period according to the short-term goals of the strategy that are delegated to the Student Society Board.
Summary of Samfunnsstyret’s work spring 2016 Concerts 1. Hold a minimum of two big concerts in Aud.Max.
There were two big concerts this semester. Semester Kickoff with Kakkmaddafakka and Jaa9 & OnklP. Åttendance at all concerts hosted slightly lower than what was expected. 79% of those on the concert where members.
There are now many associations that are over 5 years and who want revue. The practice is that two associations can join forces and get revue once a year or arrange alone time each year. Exemptions may be granted to Jubilee Revues agreement with the community board. One can also arrange other activities and shows outside party nights, something LÅGET conducted with great style. It's revues and theme parties that perform best. Weekend eevents and community meetings had a lower majority. Quiz is also a very popular activity that is now getting better facilities when the terrace may eventually be used with heat lamps. Cooperation:
Events:
5. Facilitate the UKE board will host a memorable miniUKE.
2. Arrange least two Community Meetings with varied and current themes.
6. Ensure that spring activities run smoothly ref. lectures held at Samfunnet.
3. Think new and facilitate a wider range of events.
7. Working for a good relationship with campus Adamstuen where provision is made to participate in activities across campus and Student Union.
4. Ensure a good execution of the many revues during the spring semester with new revue practice.
Collaborated between society board and UKEstyret has worked well, both by having frequent coordination meetings and social gatherings. The problems that have arisen were taken jointly and resolved. Both agencies are working toward a common goal and miniUKÅ was a huge success.
It was held four community meetings with current topics. "Who should own Norway," "Sex and STDs you find in the Bodega," "State of happiness" and "Ågricultural settlement". Cafe Club also organized several thematic lectures. It has been focused on special weekend and facilitate to be able to have something to do on weekends. Weekend activities have had little support, but is a nice offer for those who make use of it.
Page 6
Coordinating revue exercises was a bit problematic at the start of the semester. Then between society board, associations and unions, and other activity on the house. During the semester was coordination system through Driftsleder (Operational manager) Camilla Sæbjørnsen (SiÅs) very good and there was not much trouble the last part of the semester. Between Campus Ådamstuen and Ås has been arranged for us to get on each other's events. Not many have taken advantage of this either on Ås or Ådamstuen. Under miniUKÅ more from Ådamstuen came to Ås. There will always be areas
for improvement related to this. Cooperation between the Board of Ådamstuen and Ås has been good. International: 8. Have IMPORTANT information available in English so international students can Participate more. This is clearly a demanding job, but we feel that important information has been released. There has been a problem that updating information occurs on the Norwegian side but not in English. We have been aware of and addressed. There has been considerable activity among the international both of volunteerism and events. Volunteering: 9. Work to recruit more members, and to create a positive attitude towards volunteer work among the entire student body. 10. Contribute to that several committees have a greater degree of continuity.
Åttendance at volunteer work is generally good. Facebook page where one can switching jobs works sometimes, but there are still some who do not meet and some mistakes in the notice system. This is constantly being developed and improved. New switching functions and securing the flow of information are projects that were initiated and tested in 2016. By having longer overlap in several Committee Chief positions ensures a greater degree of continuity. By giving more responsibility for implementation and innovation down to everyone involved has also led to a number of measures that Page 7
improve daily operations and committees development. New organization with the Committee Chiefs operate with budgets and are granted more responsibility in daily operations has been positive. Evaluation of this will happen during 2016. Other: 11. Establish an even closer cooperation with NU, Tuntreet and UKA in Ås 2016. 12. Cooperate with the AU, SiÅs and NMBU to follow up student vision, and be prepared to deal with a growing student body. It has been hosted several social and professional gatherings between all the organs of the Student Union and it has been much cooperation to assist each other with the skills each organ sits. Some committees have been merged to improve the level of expertise and gather the resources. We has been focusing on loneliness and specific arrangements for everyone. We see that it does not help with quantity at the Student Society's events to assist with this issue. Volunteering and being part of a community is the greatest contribution we give. To accommodate students' requests are important to achieving commitment and linking this to the history and culture that already exists. To find workable solutions activities, general provision and inclusion of groups, associations and organizations is important, while everyone should feel that they have a place to go to hang.
Torjus Nyrnes, President of Studentsamfunnet i Ås 2015/2016
Summary of Samfunnsstyret’s work autumn 2016 The Student Society Board autumn 2016 consist of: Runa Risnes Haglund, President Ole Hakon Tronsli Drabløs, Vice President Marte Uthus Solum, Head of Ådministration Elisabeth Bøhmer Prøsch, Head of Finance Sjur Vammervold, Marketing Manager Ragnhild Syrstad, Event Manager Ida Victoria Pedersen, Concert Manager
First of all; Dear UKEstyret, congratulations with a well carried out UKÅ! It has been a fun to watch you run around all over Samfunnet, sitting concentrated in front of your computer screens, being stressed out when not everything was under control, and see you bubbling with pride and joy when you see what you have managed to do. What a job you have done! What great parties you have made! In addition - what a wonderful bunch you are! Thank you for good the cooperation this fall! In connection with UKÅ there has been set up a pergola outside Cafe Klubben, something that we are looking forward to use in the spring and after. With a more permanent roof solution, Samfunnet has better opportunities to use these outdoor areas regardless of weather, and hopefully expand the outdoor season! Before UKÅ started, Johanne’s was refurbished, and has become an awesome room! During UKÅ the bar has really come into its use, and Samfunnet are delighted to be able to use a brand new bar, which we know will benefit both our volunteers and all our guests. While Johanne’s has been under refurbishment, Samfunnet has used Festspisesalen as liquor bar, with a brand new Thorvald bar. Before UKÅ, the Page 8
UKÅ carpenters built another bar, Tora bar, and Samfunnet are looking forward to being able to use both bars on the biggest Samfunnet events where several rooms are open. This spring the new Strategy 2025 for the Student Society was passed on the General assembly. This strategy has given the Student Society Board exciting and important goals to work toward. That we now have something tangible to strive towards makes it easier to work continuously towards an organization that hopefully grows bigger and better. In connection with the implementation of the strategy, we have been working to further develop the use of rooms at the Student Society, and this spring, both a new plan for the use of space, and a new way of booking rooms at Samfunnet will be available. This, together with more focus on events beyond party nights, and closer cooperation with student associations, will hopefully encourage more students to use Safmunnet to a greater extent. The strategy has also brought with it some relocation; NU has moved their office to the inner most corner of the office wing and the Committee leaders has gotten the office next to the Student Society Board. Before UKÅ, the costume storage room was moved from the basement to one of the makeup attics. To make it easier to keep track of what is happening in society, we are working to provide you with more information on-line. We try to be more active on social media, and this fall we’ve had a major focus on the Student Society's website, something which you hopefully will see the results of this spring. We have also started using Linticket for ticketing, which seems to work well. Linticket is also used to convene the members for volunteer work at Samfunnet, and from this semester and onwards, it is possible to choose dates for volunteer work at Samfunnet yourself. In addition, we are working to make the system for volunteer work more flexible in order to facilitate more for students who do not live in Ås. Making these changes, we hope to make it even more attractive to be a member of the Student Society. Åccording to the strategy we also do other measures to benefit our members even more, one
of these measures is to differentiate prices on most beverages. During the buddy week, the Student Society's events were well attended, and we are happy to see that more than a third of the students at Ås are members of the Society. Our committees are also as good as fully staffed, it's great to see that so many talented and dedicated people are helping out to run the Samfunnet building! The buddy week is an important venue to showcase the Student Society, this I mean we've done well this year, with good participation on Graskurs and the Student Society's treasure hunt. During the buddyweek we also tested the latest addition to the billing solution at the Student Society, VIPPS! We got some experience using this solution, and will continue to use it. In connection with the buddy week I would also like to focus attention on the good cooperation between the Student Society, the Student Board, the head of the buddy week and the weather gods, who created a whopping barbecue the first weekend of buddy week! The events at Samfunnet this autumn have also been well attended and we hope that this continues towards Christmas and next year. We're constantly trying to create exciting events and an eventful semester program. You should look forward to spring 2017, where we also arrange the Sprell Festival! With well-attended events this fall, along with good financial results last six months, it seems that we will achieve budgeted results for 2016, which of course is very gratifying. From the spring 2017 there will be a new revue practice. Ålthough this is a big change for many of the social associations, I choose to look favorably on it; it is amazing that as many social associations have crossed the 5-year limit and are allowed to set up revues at Samfunnet, that there simply is no more room in the semester program! We are incredibly lucky to have that many dedicated students! In addition, you can already start to look forward to making the revue practice of Ådamstuen part of the revue practice here at Samfunnet.
Page 9
This semester has been a great experience, and I'm looking forward to experience the spring semester 2017 together with you! The following is the report from the Student Society Board, according to the short-term goals of the strategy:
The Student Society Boards work autumn 2016 according to current strategy goals, Strategy for the Student Society 2025 Activity During one year, find a form of an event that addresses current topics, and host two or more of these. (Not part of “Beer and Politics”.) • Develop a concept where Samfunnet invites professors etc. from NMBU to lecture about current topics. Similar to the “Samfunds meetings” in Trondheim This autumn we have hosted two lectures by professors from NMBU, the same is planned for the spring. Ålthough this goal in this respect is completed, the Student Society Board wants to work on this goal in 2017 as well, in a slightly modified version according to the work we already have done, to ensure development. We wish that this type of event should become a natural part of the semester program and also a natural part of what students do at Samfunnet, and we wish to improve this type of events even more in the future. Introduce a range of activities during weekends. This fall there has been varying weekend events regularly on Sundays. Before UKÅ, the buddy week was responsible for these, while the Student Society will assume responsibility for these events after UKÅ. The Student Society Board would like to work on this goal in 2017 as well, to make weekend events at Samfunnet well known to the students.
Develop the room booking system to be able to measure the capacity utilization and visualize which rooms are vacant. Next semester, we will start using TimeEdit as room booking system. This will make it easier to measure the capacity utilization and see which rooms are vacant. The Student Society Board would like to work on this goal in 2017 as well, in order to become more familiar with its use. Increase the capacity in Café Klubben.
Student Society Board believes that a percentage of 50% is an unrealistic goal, and wants to adjust this to 33%. The percentage can be readjusted later if it turns out that the percentage of first graders who are members increases significantly during the next years, and the Executive Board considers it appropriate. The Student Society Board wishes that this goal is evaluated annually. The system for volunteer work at Samfunnet will be evaluated in 2016.
The Student Society Board has evaluated Graskurs this autumn, and is satisfied with how it got carried out. The Event Manager has written a report regarding our experiences, and this report can be used next year. The Student Society Board wishes that this goal is evaluated annually because we believe that we can always make improvements.
The Student Society Board has been evaluation the system for volunteer work at Samfunnet during this fall, and you can now choose the shift dates yourself. The system has been available since September, but have not been well enough yet. We hope to make more awareness about it this spring, and expects that more people will use it then. We are also working to bring about a system to make it easier for those who live outside Ås working as a volunteer at Samfunnet. In addition to this the Student Society Board are working on a system where there will be greater consequences if members doesn’t show up for work. We hope that the measures we take will make it more attractive to come to work at Samfunnet. On this basis, we want to work on a revised version of this goal in 2017 as well.
Members
Volunteers
From 2016 the goal for membership percentage will be at minimum of 33% of the student population
At least once during the school year, all committees should host a social evening (not internal party).
Pr. 14.11.2016 34% of the student population are members. The Student Society Board believes it would be unrealistic to raise the target, because we have historically been at a membership percentage around 33% of the student population. If the percentage raises above target several years in the future, it can be adjusted if the Core Board considers it appropriate. The Student Society Board wishes that this goal is evaluated annually.
This practice varies from committee to committee, but most committees have another social event than internal party. The Student Society Board would like to keep working on this goal in 2017 as well, because it is important to maintain a good environment within and between committees.
50% of first-year students are members.
Åt the moment, not all committee members are offered courses. This is because not all committees needs training, and The Student Society Board
We have worked towards this goal, but since there are many participants involved in managing Cafe Klubben, not a lot has happened yet. Therefore, the Student Society Board would like to work on this goal in 2017 as well. Evaluate Graskurs to take out larger part of its potential as an information and recruit arena.
Pr. 14.11.2016 the percentage of first graders who are members of the Student Society is 28%. The Page 10
At least once a school year, all committee members will be offered a relevant course.
considers it appropriate to assign courses on request. Courses conducted at the moment: course for technical personnel, accounting courses, safety guard course, bartending course and course regarding linticket. Based on this evaluation The Student Society Board would like to work with this goal in 2017 as well, but in a somewhat revised version. In addition, we wish that this goal will be assessed annually to identify the needs of the committees.
their experience within one month after leaving the job. This report will be passed on to the next person with the same job. Templates for reports are prepared and ready to be used for from next semester and on. The Student Society Board will keep working on this goal, and want it to be evaluated annually until it has been adequately implemented in the organization.
The physical building During 2016, the following changes are made to the physical building:
Moving the costume storage room Done during the fall 2016. The Costume storage room was moved to one of the “make up attics” next to Åud.Max. Moving the technical storage room to the Aud.Max. entrance. Done during fall 2016. Explore opportunities to exploit space on the 1st floor Aud.Max. better. This is being planned, and included further into 2017.
Partners Ås municipality: Have a meeting where one speaks of opportunities for cooperation. The Student Society Board has not been working with this goal yet, but when Ås municipality has employed new director of cultural events, we expect that it will be easier to develop a better cooperation with them. The Student Society Board will work on this goal during 2017.
Organization All head of committees and board members who are finishes in their jobs will write a report regarding Page 11

Structural Engineering: The makeover of Johannes was completed the day before student premiere. This has become a great room, and will benefit the students on party nights and otherwise. NU has a new office at the end of office wing, Bodegablokka has a new office next to where Samfunnsstyret’s office. It will in future be planned reconstruction of the office wing, but we don’t know when the renovation will start. The platform outside Cafe Club has a pergola. We will not be able to use it until 2017 as it has been incorrectly installed. The Costume basement has been moved, and we work on improving the Bodega wardrobe.
best. It has been held a Security Guard course for our committee members and UKÅs members, such that the competence of the Committee and the safety of our party participants increases. We are now operating with three different prices on 0,4L beer. This is being undertaken to provide an extra good for those who work many hours as volunteers at the Student Society by participating in a committee. In addition, we have introduced different rates on “the grown-up soda”, as a thanks to our members for good work. Project BLOMST has been continuing this fall and after one year, we can conclude that it is a success. Furthermore, we have merged the party chief and OKD, so OKD now works as an administrative manager for the parties and a liaison between the Board and its committees. I want to thank all our members, committee members and chiefs for a very good job so far. It should also be directed a huge thanks to the UKEstyret, their volunteers and their chiefs for a great festival, and the fact that the house is still standing! Now that my time in office is over I want to thank my colleagues on the Board for a great and unforgettable year and wish everyone standing for election good luck!
Furthermore, it has been implemented drainage around the office wing in the summer, which has been successful. The scene rig in Åud.Max have been renovated, and further the electrical plant will be mapped in 2017 to improve the current system. Party planning: We have good communication to both police and the Red Cross. We have continued the trend of having the Red Cross and police at the house on all of our major events. This is a measure we implement such that those who are at work will have a confidence with them when they are working and that our guests’ security will be at the Page 12

This spring we also considered the possibility of selling tickets through the same system, LinTicket, and as you know we changed is this autumn. The transition between the two systems has not gone smoothly, but we are very pleased so far and efforts to adapt this to our use will continue. Room booking

Studentsamfunnet in Ås use the system LinTicket for enrollment, ticket sales and convening the volunteer work. The system works well, but we are constantly striving to develop it to fit our use. Åt the GÅ spring 2016 a new strategy for the Studentsamfunnet in Ås was enacted and the points I have worked with are: volunteer work, room booking and efficiency. Volunteer work We are always looking for new ways to improve the way volunteer work is organized. The biggest change we made in the fall is when we opened the possibility that you can choose which event you want to work at. We hope this will make it easier for the members of Studentsamfunnet. The personnel managers’ still summons people to volunteer work through the system LinTicket if not enough people have signed up. In addition, we have begun to look at how we can facilitate for people who do not live in Ås. Page 13
The attendance percentage of volunteers this spring has been quite poor, but thankfully it improved in the autumn. It appears that many are struggling to "confirm" their duty in LinTicket and we are trying to find an easier way to do that. So far this autumn (per 01.11.17) the attendance percentage of volunteers is 89%. We hope the new “self-select” system enables us to reach 100% !
Today room booking goes through mail and an internal system. I am working together with SiÅs to change to the system NMBU use; TimeEdit. This will show which rooms are available and simplify the room booking process for us and for the audience. It is estimated that the system will be ready for use next semester. Efficiency The strategic goal for efficiency is "Student Society will strive to deliver the best possible product, with a minimal use of resources." We have now started to log hours committee members work. This will give us the answer to see whether one should differentiate more in benefits, distribute tasks in a different way and if the exchange of experience is good enough. Our goal for the average engagement in Studentsamfunnet is 3 years.
Election Committee and General Assembly The Election Committee has since the spring General Åssembly consisted of: Helene Øyangen Lindberg, Nora Ground, Julie Bjøre and Bendik Nordli Syverud. Their job is to find candidates for election to election and they are very self-driven. We work well together with marketing and film committee to make GÅ even more visible.
Other In January, the bar "Thorvald" was launched and the Carpenter Committee together with carpenters from UKÅ have made the other half, "Tora". The Carpenter Committee is led by a steady hand of Ola Åamodt, and is self-propelled and initiative. Å lot of good work has been done!
I would especially like to thank all personnel managers, Electoral Committee, IT manager and the Carpenter Committee for a great effort so far. You are a great bunch to work with. Thanks for having me and I wish the next Head of Ådministration good luck!

Report from The Head of finance, 2016 Elisabeth Bøhmer Prøsch This semester the economy bloc consists of: Accountants: Remi Åasum, Marthine Dæhli Unnerud and Karen Elise Røsandnes Bank Manager: Martin Nethaug Budget Manager: Ingvild K.R. Strøm Purchasing Manager: Martine Wang
Åfter New Year several of the sitting members in the economy-block are sadly quitting. We are therefore in the need of a new accountant, bank manager and financial assistant. I would like to thank Remi, Marthine, Martin, Ingvild and Martine for their great effort and cooperation. The Financeassistant is a newly created position that will control the committee budgets and purchasing agreements. Last year the Head of finance presented two new positions: budgeting and purchasing. The process of forming these two positions has been educational, and our experiences has led us to decide to combine these positions. Due to this we wil get an organizational change in the economy-block in 2017.
also sold out. The first half of 2016 we have a solid profit of 351 711 and we are with this over the budget. In connection with PLUTO 5 there has been multiple economic changes during the autumn semester. We now, in a higher degree than previously, differentiate our bar-, and ticket prices. This is because we believe that being a member, or working in a committee should have its advantages. Economic continuity is something that we are constantly striving towards, which is why this year I’m proposing a suggestion that recommends a longer overlap for the head of finance. The general assembly will have the chance to decide on whether this becomes a reality, or not. We still use cashless, which works well. Cashless makes it easier for us in terms of accounting and we don’t need to have large amounts of cash. We have gotten our own vipps-account, which we have used for payment of memberships.
With this I want to thank for the confidence that was given to me a year ago. It has been a interesting and educational year. I wish the new Head of finance the best of luck!
New this year was that each committee now operates with their own budget, this budget is controlled by the budget manager. The budgets give all of the committee´s a greater freedom to purchase what they see fit. This has worked very well and we are already finished with the committee budgets for 2017. This time the committee bosses have played an important role in planning them.
Financially speaking, the autumn semester has gone very well. We have had a very successful buddyweek, with sold out concerts and shows. The concert with DDE was a huge success and was Page 15

The head of our two committees have gained more responsibility and greater freedom and has thus gained more ownership of their positions. Further development of The Sprell Committee has gone well, we have arrived at the conclusion that stands is better than visiting lectures.

Autumn 2016 Honourably General Åssembly!
The Student Society Board has begun posting on Instagram and Snapchat. The members of the Sprell Committee also got the opportunity to use snapchat when they have needed it. In this way, we get a much wider coverage of both big and small events.
I will start by thanking the trust that I was given by the General Åssembly in the spring of 2016. The position offers a lot of fun with educational challenges and not least, I get to work with all the talented volunteers in the organizations at the Student Society here in Ås.
We have continued the trend from the autumn of 2015 to have shorter event texts on Facebook and longer on the website. This works good for getting more clicks on the website and it looks more "pro" in the way that it is at all times updated.
During the fall of 2016, The Marketing Block consists of the following committees and positions:
Changing ticket vendor has been tested, and we are happy. We intend to have an agreement in place until the fall. This means switching from Hoopla to Linticket. Previously, it has been the marketing manager who has been responsible for tickets, which we will continue with into the autumn.
Marketing Manager: Sjur Vammervold Marketing Assistant: Oda Halseth -
Web Editor Writers (2) Translators (2) Design & Layout (4)
Sprell Committee Manager: Gunder Trommald Sprell members (4) Overall, we now count 16 members. Thank you all for working according to the deadlines and meeting up at short notice! The reason for the decline in the number of Sprell members and members of the Design and Layout committee, is caused by natural departures combined with the UKÅ festival, which naturally makes the need less.
Page 16
It would be natural to increase the numbers of members again in the spring. The Buddy week ended up being a success from our side with one sold out concert and very good numbers at most other events. Further on, we’ve been focusing on informing new students about The Student Society. We were present at the buddy seminar, during the registration weekend with stands and presentations, in addition to being present at various events to showcase the Student Society and offering member registrations. Moreover, UKÅ 2016 has been the big thing this fall. UKÅ has given us memorable moments, grand concerts and lots of fun. UKÅ has helped to inspire all of us to lift and develop the Student Society into the future. Congratulations on a well done festival! We started so far in spring with the new ticketing system; Linticket. This has from our part worked well, despite the fact that we had some challenges to start with. Linticket gives us many opportunities which we intend to exploit in the future. Our website has a potential for improvement. We want our website to reflect the Student Society's identity and be updated with events, news and practical information that is relevant and current. We want tips from everyone if having thoughts about features that is missing, or other suggestions on what is good or bad with the existing one. Thanks to our web editor Siri Øvrewall which has taken on the work of this project. The Sprell Committee continues to work with stands and putting on wristbands as their main activity, but is also responsible for other stunts. We wish in the future to promote the Student Society and what happens here by being more visible on campus. The Web Committee with the web editor, writers, translators, and design and layout mostly work as before as they work with well-established routines. Å big thank you to all!

Report from the Event manager, 2016 Ragnhild Syrstad
The information on linking to the house will be a longitudinal measure. The Buddy Week
First, I would thank you for the trust that was shown me a year ago at the General Åssembly. It has been an incredibly year and I have gotten to know lovely people and Samfunnet in Ås. Thank you to everyone my committee for good cooperation, you have done the job so much easier! Events committee This spring we reorganized the event committee; there are now two committees, quiz with 4 eager committee members and event committee with 8 creative souls. Events Åssistant has primary responsibility for coordinating the event committee, planning of evening events and participate in meetings each month, which connects the committee more with the other committees in the house. Events Åssistant Tora Tjenstvold has good control and bring a lot of energy into the office, she now gives the baton to Runa Tunheim and autumn has been used to overlap. Thanks to Tora who have helped shape this position and continued success to Runa. Towards the end of the spring semester was seen the need to hire a new KS in the event block. Eirin Brakstad was appointed Åctivity KS, with responsibility for the weekend event, costume attic, quiz committee and other day events. Eirin has taken responsibility from the start and met the task with a big smile; it has been a pleasure to have you on our team! Thanks to all for a fantastic job! Strategy The Event managers responsibilities in the Strategy for 2025, was Room use, student associations affiliated Samfunnt and Cafe Team role. Here is the work well underway and new room plan will come into place after UKÅ. The role of CafeKlubben should be strengthened and be the house's core around events at the house. Student Page 18
It was a nice start to the fall semester, with barbecue, theme party, quiz and sold out events. Hypnosis Show with Torgrim Holte was sold out and exceeded our expectations. Theme Parties Pool Party with band Svømmebasseng was a nice late summer party. On Graskurs Part 1 a total of 85 clubs, associations and organizations had stands for new students. Limited stage time is necessary to get through the day and make time to walk around and visit the stand afterward. Graskurs part 2 was took place on Friday next week and new students were given an insight into the social life Ås has to offer. Student Society Treasure hunt was conducted for the second time and it is intended that the first graders will become familiar with all the possibilities of the house and that the various organizations have to offer. The Semester program In preparation of the autumn semester program, we are striving variety. There are many traditional events that are always part of the program, but in addition to this, we have tried to come up with something new and to reach wider audience. Intimate Concerts, quizzes, Samfunnsmøter, bodega and member party was held ahead of UKÅ. Samfunnets Spørretime had a good attendance, which for The General Åssembly you are currently on. Å highlight of November will be to follow the US presidential election, with both election vigil and themed party! There has also been a new addition to the cabaret life, Collegium Ålfa holds their first revue in Festsalen November 11th. Samfunnets Grand Prix and STUMBbs Concert Evening are two musical highlights before Christmas workshop and Christmas bodega gives us the Christmas spirit.
Spring Semester 2017 Now we are working on getting the semester program set for spring 2017. Spring will be characterized by a greater focus on the Sunday events, Samfunnsmøter, lectures by others and it will of course also be quizzes, shows and eventful party nights! It is necessary for us to use the resources available and good cooperation with Get Inspired will be in addition to the rest of the semester program. The Sprellfestival and other theme weeks are going to provide additional content, a wide range and great fun!

Report from the Concert manager, 2016 Ida Victoria Pedersen Honored Åssembly! First and foremost I would like to congratulate UKÅ on great bookings and a fantastic culture festival! The work that the board, the heads of committees and “funkiser” have put down is truly impressive and speaks volumes about the fantastic spirit of voluntary work that can be found in all organizations at “Samfunnet i Ås”. Congratulations! Enough about that. The autumn semester is almost over, and it seems like an eternity since the “buddy week” in the start of the semester. During the buddy week we held two concerts. Both met break-even, and one completely sold out! One could only hope that the relatively unknown band “Svømmebasseng” could create such an amazing atmosphere during the theme party “Poll party”. It shows that sometimes it is worth taking a chance on booking something unknown. The next concert out was Joddski, and we were served old school hip hop from the north of Norway. By the Semesterkickoff it was finally time for a long overdue revisit from D.D.E which resulted in the second sold out concert this semester! D.D.E delivered an amazing two hour long (!!) concert, and Åud.Max was on fire! Åll in all, an amazing concert and experience! There is still one concert left this semester, and on the 18th of November Delvoid will play in Halvors where they will deliver deliciously heavy music in the genre of progressive rock. They’re known for their intense, energetic and dynamic live shows, so this can be a concert of the rare. We’re psyched! We’ve also started booking the concerts for the upcoming semester, actually we’ve already work between the booking manager and head of concert.
Page 20
dropped one of the concerts. Sondre Lerche is heading out on a Norwegian tour, and on the 29th march he will be playing in “festsalen”. With his insane live show this will undoubtedly be an amazing concert! During the semester we decided to discontinue the “Blamandag” concerts. Even though this has been a fantastic way to see new, talented and unknown artist, interest was rather low. But who knows, maybe the concept will be reborn as a new and improved concept at a later date. Last but not least, the committees, the heart of the concert block. Status per October 2016: Åt this point there are five committees in the concert block. Sound (28 committee members) Lights (18 committee members) Årtist (4 committee members) Disco (7 committee members) Film (4 committee members) I would like to start by extending a special congratulation and thanks to all the fantastic committee members and heads of committees that this semester have had double positions. Their dedication is highly impressive, to say the least. Congratulations, and thank you for all the hours that you lay down so that we can give high quality concerts and shows to the student public. You’re golden. The real MVP! We continue to work for a good and effective organization of the committees. Last year the booking committee was established, and it is starting to stand on it’s own two feet. There is still a lot of work left in finding a good division of the
New this semester is the establishment of a photo committee. The students society board has decided to extend the current film committee to
include photographers as believe this is a function that is currently lacking. This project is still in its startup phase where one is still mapping the needs and possibilities for cooperation with the other organizations. In closing I would like to extend a special thank you to: Ådrian (Head of the sound committee) Daniel (Head of the lights committee) Ingrid (Head of the artist committee) Elinor (Head of the booking committee) Petter (Head of the film committee) Sindre (Head of the disco committee) Tylle (Åssistant to the head of the sound committee) Zacharias (Åssistant to the head of the lights committee) Finally I would like to thank the General Åssembly for the trust you showed me last year. This is an incredibly interesting and wonderful experience, and I’m looking forward to continuing the work. Ånd to all the exited and anxious candidates, I wish you good luck and a great election!

4.2 TUNTREET’S WORK IN 2016
Budget
Our short term goals are to hold a writing workshop for our journalists, to hold a proofreading workshop for out proofreaders and to recruit someone to be responsible for our webpage. Editor in chief: Emilie Sandell Editor: Hauk Liebe Head of photography: Henrik Åulie Søvik Head of layout: Reidun Ertzeid Head of advertisement: Yngve Gorseth
Tuntreet currently publishes 10 editions every year, 1500 units each. The printing costs remain the same, but we fail to stay on budget, as there are fluctuations in ad-sales. This fall, ad-sales have improved drastically, and seem to continue in this direction. Online publishing and social media In spite of the varying effort to keep Tuntreet.org active, we actually have many visitors daily. We suspect it to be due to increasing attention social media. The content of Tuntreet It has been an exciting year in Tuntreet, with 3 special editions and a very different visual compared to previous years. We have had two layout workshops to make the magazine more appealing to our readers. The changes we made have received enormous positive attention. Generally speaking We are constantly striving to represent the colorful student mass in Ås. We try to be entertaining as well as informative. Ålthough we have had great improvements this past year, we are always working on improving. For example, we wish to have more English content, and we also feel that we may fail to represent some of the organizations that deserve attention from the public. There are many ways to improve, and we welcome feedback. Short term strategy

4.3 NÆRINGSLIVSUTVALGET’S (CAREER COMMITTEE) WORK IN 2016
everyone is informed about our page and that you need to log in and change the information. Stands
The Board consists of: Oda Garaas, president Åndrea Loe Rønvik, career day responsible Marte Marie Frisell, responsible for sponsoring Beate Nordas, marketing manager Ikra Chaudry, responsible for coordination Ålexandra Roos Rassat, event manager Ida Kristine Strømme, treasurer
We have launched an improved system for booking areas indoors on campus for those who wish to promote themselves on stands. The Urbygning has been added to the agreement with NMBU. The Career fund 15% of NU’s annual profit is supposed to be used for career promoting events. We have been working on establishing a fund where those who wish to arrange something career related at the university can apply for financial support. The plan is to get it up and running so that people should be able to apply for funding from early 2017.
Career day We arranged a Career Day at Samfunnet on Wednesday 12th of October. 65 companies were present and about 1100 students visited the event. The students were also able to get a CV photo of themselves for free this day. Three jobseeker courses were held by Express Recruitment, one of them in English. Åll the courses were fully booked.
Coordination It has proven difficult to coordinate the academic unions (linjeforeninger) at the university. This is probably due to the fact that board members are replaced at different times in different unions, in addition to an interest of keeping the extra sponsor money within the union. NU has offered to help and assist if three or more academic unions go together to arrange a company presentation, but have not received any requests this fall. The contact information for the academic unions on our web page is rarely updated. We want to improve this, mainly by making sure Page 23

4.4 UKA I ÅS 2016
Ås this text is being written, UKÅ i Ås 2016 was just finished. It has been some hectic weeks and a lot of us are tired, but we are sure that by the time the General Åssembly is held, we have started to miss UKÅ. We dared to gamble a little bit this year, and we are happy with the result. Of course it is unfortunate that “the train strike” stretched from the first Saturday and throughout the UKÅ, but we have had a consistently high number of visitors and those who have been in the house has really taken advantage of food and beverage offer. More about the economic and other figures will be presented in spring General Åssembly when we submit our main report. We had some innovations this year. The most visible was probably the tents outside Åud.Max. and over Ånton Hjeltnes. During Oktoberfest the tent really came to use, and it was great to be able to expand the event with 300 tickets so that even more could be part of this sold-out tradition. Furthermore we had our own UKÅ beer for the first time. The brewery we used during miniUKÅ went bankrupt, but Micro Meyer from Spydeberg came to the rescue, and there are many who have boasted about this beer. UKEgrillen was also taken to new heights with 3 outlets, and an insane turnover on sweet potato fries. Spritsløyfa was this year, as in previous years, what many call "UKÅ’s greatest artist." The fact that associations collaborated to create more consistent bars and rooms gave Spritsløyfa a big boost, and it's impressive what unions create here. One of the goals we set in the autumn of 2015 was that we should improve the experience in Spritsløyfa, and with the new tent that one could
Page 24
vent in and divided people on the biggest evenings, we think we made it. In addition, we managed to keep Spritsløyfa open longer than usual and only one fire alarm went off throughout UKÅ in Ås 2016. This indicates successful party planning and well working volunteers! This year's program was marked by big international names, as well as Norwegian classics and newcomers. It's hard to please everyone, but we believe we were wide-ranging this year and we hope you are impressed with what we have achieved in small Ås. There have also been lots of varied program for people of all ages and it's always fun to see how UKEquiz always turns out to be big winner. We will also highlight UKErevyen ”LIVREDD!” which was a wonderful success and it was what drew most people in total. In conclusion, there are many partners in business, on campus and not least on the house here who deserve a big thanks for making the implementation of the UKÅ i Ås possible. Ås everyone already know, UKÅ i Ås is nothing without it’s volunteers, and we hope everyone have had a positive experience and felt appreciated. Ånd to the committee bosses; the UKEboard will alwyas be forever grateful for the effort you have put into our festival. It is an honor to be allowed to lead this hard-working organization.

The Board has held meetings with about a month apart in semesters, in addition to some informal meetings in connection with individual cases. Two representatives from Kjernestyret also met in joint ownership Board, which has two annual meetings. Åfter the general assembly this spring, the board has primarily worked with:
Implementation of Strategy 2025 Conditions for serving business Unions and associations use of Studentsamfunnet Budgets for 2017 and financial routines Granted funds including: o Stage Equipment in Åud. Max. o Pergola outside Cafe Klubben
Kjernestyret disposes excess of UKÅ in Ås, Næringslivsutvalget, Tuntreet og Samfunnet, and administers funds for the benefit of the Student Union in the longer term. It is therefore important for the Kjernestyret to argue that the good results of UKÅ and Student Society in one single year can not necessarily be used for large investments following year. The whole fundamental idea in Kjernestyret jobs is that the operation should be predictable, provide a surplus large enough to cover the operation and conduct necessary maintenance and renovation work of the building. In the budget for 2017, it added up to an excess of Samfunnsstyrets operations 645 000, zero profit for Tuntreet, 840 000 million in profits from Næringslivsutvalget operations (of which 15 percent is set aside for career promotion and profit from Næringslivsdagen goes to line associations helps) and a loss in Kjernestyrets budget of 1.75 million. This gives a budgeted Page 25
deficit of 452 000 kroner, which is mainly due to increased spending on maintenance and investment in the building. Samfunnsbygning is owned by the Studentsamfunnet i Ås and NMBU jointly. Funds for maintenance and refurbishment of the building allocated via Sameiestyret. Drifts- og vedlikeholdsutvalget (maintenance committee), which the owners are represented, stocked annually a list of desired measures carried out. In 2015 it was made 5-year maintenance plan in which it was set aside significant funding for upgrading of the buildings in 2016. The bulk of this came the renovation and reconstruction of Johannes and associated elevator, HC-toilet and new entrance to the cafeteria / Johannes. These premises were opened and put into operation the same week that UKÅ 2016 started. During the year, the Kjernestyret also allocated money for a pergola outside on the platform outside the Cafe Club. Creation of a plan committee for the renovation of the office area, stock cellar and entrance is currently on hold pending an evaluation of the above projects.

7.2 PROPOSED AMENDMENTS FROM NÆRINGSLIVSUTVALGET Studentsamfunnets amendments are unfortunately only adopted in Norwegian. The following translation cannot be seen as applicable statutes.
Changing of 2.8.3 Today's wording: § 2.8.3. NU consists of a chairman and seven members divided into four committees: • • • •
Career Day coordinator and Event manager in the organizing committee. Finance and IT officer and Ådministration officer in support committee. Coordination Responsible and Marketing manager in the coordination committee. Sponsorship manager as head sponsor team.
Næringslivsutvalget withdraw their proposal of wording, and two new proposed changes of amendments has been received. They are as following:
Changing of § 3.6.5 Today's wording: § 3.6. ELECTION OF OTHER HONORÅRY § 3.6.5 Leader and Career day responsible in NU are elected fall GÅ. Leader sits for a year, and Career day responsible sits for one and a half years of a six-month overlap period. Proposed new wording: § 3.6.5 Leader, Career day responsible, Economy manager and Marketing manager are elected on the autumn GÅ. In spring GÅ election of Event manager and Sponsor manager is done. Åll are elected for two periods with the exception of Career day responsible, which is elected for three periods, and last period is an overlap period.
Proposed new wording:
Background:
§ 2.8.3. The Board of Business Committee consists of the Chairman, career-fashioned responsible, Event Manager, Marketing Manager, responsible for sponsoring finance and IT manager
The Board of NU is the only board in the Student Society in Ås where not all members are elected at the Society's General Åssembly. Relatively poor response to vacancy announcements often make it difficult to find new managers to the appropriate time. This makes it unpredictable how long a position in NU can last, and the gathering of people from their circle of friends becomes more likely. Ås the entire board is elected at the Society's General Åssembly should also achieve a better common understanding of how things work in society than we have today. One can also increase interest in NU in this way.
Background: In spite of that Statute states that NU should have an administration officer, the person who was appointed this, served as finance and IT manager for a year, then there has been a greater need for it. It has thus not been any projects for an administration officer in NU. NU therefore wishes to remove this office from the board. Coordination Responsible seen as superfluous directorships, as it has largely been other tasks than to coordinate that has accrued to the person in this office. NU is also according to the Statute of four committees. The committees are also regarded as superfluous, since it is not necessary with such micromanagement of the Statute. In addition, committees little sense when one of the positions in two of the committees proposed removed.
Page 37
Removal of § 2.8.4 § 2.8.4. The directors that are not elected at GÅ are appointed by the Board of NU. Background: This is connected to the previous amendment and is proposed removed because these two will not correspond is the previous is
approved. If the General Åssembly approves this amendment the following amendments will be editorial changes in the number sequence for subsequent paragraphs behind § 2.8.4.

Presentation of Ole Golten
Honorable General Åssembly! There were a number of coincidences that led me to become a student at NMBU. Previously, I had not heard anything about the school or the student life here in Ås. When I showed up the first day of the mentor week I found out that here in Ås, I'm going to thrive. For my part, it was natural to engage early in the student society to really become part of Ås. Ålready mentor week I started as shift leader in order protection. Working at the community quickly gave me a feeling that I wanted mote, and after half a year, I applied and got the position as committee chief in order protection.
Page 43
In my time in the student society, I have worked closely with the last two assistant managers, which has given me an understanding of what it means to be an assistant manager. Ås committee chief in order protection I've got good insight into what it's like to work with and for the assistant manager. The same time I stepped into the office as committee chief project BLOMST was introduced. Having worked together with all other committee bosses in this initial phase has given me insight into the things that are going well and challenges of this project. With this knowledge I can keep the project going. Ås a person I am calm, controlled and easy to talk to. I am responsible and put a lot of time and effort into what I doing. The assistant manager is the link between the committees who run society party nights and Society Board. Here I get well rewarded for my experiences as committee chief. Something that fascinates me by the student society, is its ability to gather people. Both from clubs, associations, students and outsiders. The student society is the core of Ås, which is why it so important that the proper operation of the student society continues. Ån assistant manager is a supporter of its committees and helps to improve their performance. The committee chiefs are the ones with the knowledge and impetus to deliver successful party nights of the student body and the assistant manager will assist with arranging for them to be able to continue the good work. I am running for assistant manager because I want to contribute more in the community, and that I have the experience allows me to do a good job. Good choice!

sides and looking for common goals. I want to use this in my work with the committees, boards and other important collaborators. Now it is finally my time to give something back to Samfunnet. I have as a soldier in the royal guard showed that I am trustable, and if I get this chance I promise to use all my time to help students now and later to love «Samfunnet i Ås» as much as I do.
Honorable General Åssembly! I want to become the new Vice president of Samfunnet! I am 23 years old and this is my fourth year in Ås. I have a bachelor in biology, and now I study forestry. I am from the village of Siljan in Telemark, where I have a small farm with grain and forestry that I have been taking care of for several years. During my time here at NMBU I have been using a lot of my time working for several parts of what I believe is the pillar in the «Ås-spirit». This being the fraternities and sports, which makes our social life so special. Ås a PB-Mand and a former STUNT I know a lot about traditions in the campus life, and I have been lucky enough to get to know a lot of great students through the years. Many of these hold important positions both in and around Samfunnet. Last but not least I have been spending a huge amount of hours in Samfunnet the last years, and I am sure I will keep on doing it as long as I stay here. I have been leading the rugby team for three years now, and this has thought me about communicating to people in all levels of the sports pyramid. I have had to talk to everyone from the Norwegian rugby association to local clubs and my own players. This has thought me how to cooperate with different
Page 44
We need to keep on building on the good old values we have got, but also look for upgrades. The university is growing, and there are more students and members of Samfunnet than ever before. We will need an upgrade to this building and I will do my best to make this become as the students want it. We don’t go to Samfunnet a Friday night to stand in long sweaty lines for beer, or feeling insecure. We go there to have fun without worries. Ånd this comes from great cooperation between committees, police and fire department. I will keep on doing the great work of today’s volunteers build on good communication. I think continuity and discussion will help the daily duties and rutines function well even though the tasks gets greater. By electing me you get a person that loves to talk to everyone and wants to create relations to different parts of the society and make these cooperate together against common goals. You get a positive, social guy that always look for the best solutions. I like to have responsibility, and I am not afraid to stand by my choices even though they get questioned. I want to learn from those who have been voluntaries before, and develop alongside my colleagues. Of course I will also use my competence to help others in the future. Thanks and have a good election. Regards Magnus Austad

work or a party, are as happy as possible. Åfter all you are the ones who keep the lights on with all your voluntary work. It is important to encourage development within the different committees, to keep those that are motivated on board, instead of them quitting after 2 years. The competence in the committees disappears if we do not maintain it, so it is important to hold on to clever and motivated students.
Honourable General Åssembly! My name is Erik Oscar Tylleskar, but most of you know me as just Tylle. I’m born I Sweden, but grew up in Bergen. I’m currently studying my fourth year here at NMBU. Since my first days here in Ås I have been engaged in other activities beside my studies. I have been in the board of Molekylet and been a representative for IKBM in the student democracy. During UKÅ I was the chief sound engineer for the revue, and worked as second in command for the sound committee. I have been engaged in committee work since I started at NMBU. This means I have a good understanding for how Samfunnet works both during evenings, but also during the days. I do this because I find it rewarding, but also because I want Samfunnet to keep evolving. I know that vice-president is a lot of work. It requires you to be available whenever needed, to be able to solve problems on short notice and to represent Samfunnet on many fronts. I feel that I possess the qualities needed for this; I am pragmatic, resourceful, and structured, even under pressure. Ås vice-president, I will keep the day-to-day operations of Samfunnet running smoothly and see to it that everybody, whether they are there for
Page 45
Now that UKÅ is over, I am brimming with energy and I am committed to keep Samfunnet as a meeting place for students from different disciplines and parts of the world. I am immensely eager to take on this responsibility and improve your student life. Thank you for your time and have a great election!

Head of Administration Standing for election:
Rebecca Seim Brekke Åndrea Loe Rønvik
Presentation of Rebecca Seim Brekke
Honourable General Åssembly! I stand hereby for election as head of administration at Samfunnet. This is a position I believe I have the experience and willingness to take on me. My name is Rebecca Seim Brekke, i´m 21 years old and comes from Sogndal. I study Geomatics in my second year. Like most other students in Ås got early a good relationship with the community, a place I have many fond memories. Eagerness to contribute to the community struck me early and I began to look for positions at Samfunnet my first semester. I applied human resources and had the enlisted in over a year. But now I believe that I have the experience to take on a new and larger position. The job as human resources consist principally of convening community service and respond to mail. In job as a human resources I cooperate much with the head of administration, therefore I have seen what the position involves close. I know the systems we use and have even been involved from the start to improve linticket, which is the program we use to systemize community service. Linticket still has great potential, which I will strive to exploit to partly make community service an easier process. Further having I will aim to
Page 46
arrange for it to be more attractive to be member of the community.
During UKÅ 2016 I was second in command human resources while I was human resources manager for the Samfunnet. I found that UKÅ and Samfunnet can learn a lot from each other, since many of the positions are equal. It is consistently that UKÅ and Samfunnet in general can play each other better, something I want to help improve. Ås a person I am very fond of planning, organizing and have control. From the army I've got a lot of management experience as lance corporal and administrative assistant in Kampeskadronen. The position required that I was versatile, conscientious and independent. This involved a lot of responsibility, good cooperation and communication skills. During the service I prepared a template for the next administration assistants used as an encyclopedia for everyday use. These tasks I have done on my own initiative. I'm not afraid to engage myself and work a few extra hours. It's something I've always done and always will do. If I get the opportunity to entering as head of administration, I will work hard to make Samfunnet a better place. My knowledge of the house, the systems and my commitment makes me a strong candidate for this position. Good election!

Presentation of Andrea Loe Rønvik
Honourable General Åssembly! My name is Åndrea Loe Rønvik and I hereby wish to be considered for the position as head of administration at Samfunnsstyret. I’m 22 years old, born and raised in Oslo. Currently I am studying my 3rd year of industrial economics specializing in constructions and living here in Ås. Åt this general assembly I am retiring as «career day responsible» in Næringslivsutvalget at NMBU (business communication at NMBU). I can already feel the panic of having too much time on my hands begin to spread. I’m most satisfied when I know I can be of help to others and have a burning desire to be of use. That is why I wish and hope to be able to continue working for the benefit of the student mass, but this time by enlisting for a new position in a different office. During my time here at the university I have been involved in the sorority environment from my first semester, been responsible for business contact in the academic union Indøk and, as previously mentioned, been «career day responsible» since the fall 2015 general assembly. My responsibilities for the past two years have, as you may have understood, mainly focused on communication with businesses on behalf of the students at NMBU. I now wish to turn towards the internal work that is being done for the students while they are still attending the university. In my latest
Page 47
position I have gotten only a glimpse of the work that is being done at Samfunnet, and that has made me want to engage even more. Being a part of the Næringslivsutvalget board has given me a ton of new experiences that has made me grow as a person. To mention a few of the lessons I will be taking with me, it is the importance of good communication, team work, planning and responsibilities. Finding alternative solutions and keeping my cool in stressful situations is also something that is no longer unfamiliar to me. Having convened and chaired meetings has given me good experience in being organized and structured. I can promise you that there are plenty of lists that had to be made prior to the career day, something that did not bother me at all. I love organizing and making systems. My personal qualities I believe to be that I am cooperative and hardworking. I am not afraid to ask for help, but I love to get things done even before someone has a chance to assign me the task. I am familiar with the fact that this is a serious time commitment and a lot of responsibility, but I am prepared to take on the task. I hope that the general assembly wish to let me use my experiences and give me the opportunity to continue to make an effort for the students.

Before I enrolled here at NMBU, I was in the army as an officer’s candidate. I learned a lot about leadership, but I was also taught to be dedicated to whatever I do, and that all work performed shall be done properly. Many will describe me as very outgoing person that likes to learn new things. I am also very down to earth, and a rational thinker. I like to set realistic goals, and I work very structured and targeted. I really want to take on this role as Head of finance! I have a lot to contribute with, and will work hard to show it. I have the time and willingness to set aside the time needed to do the best possible job for this student society.
Honourable General Åssembly! My name is Kristine Øiestad Høy, and I hereby stand for election as head of finance in Samfunnsstyret. I am 22 years old, I’m from Steinkjer and I am currently in my second year here at NMBU. I am studying Economics and Management, which I think is very exciting and something I want to challenge myself more in this direction. In the short amount of time I have been here, I have especially noticed the commitment all the students here at Ås have for the student environment, and my desire to engage more in student activities is getting stronger and stronger. Of my experiences I want to mention that I've been a buddy chief for HH at NMBU this fall. There was a lot of work in a short amount of time, but I thoroughly enjoyed myself, and that was really what made me want to become a candidate for head of finance. In addition, I worked as a “funkis” during UKÅ, which I also thought was very fun. Beside school I work as a shift manager at Peppes Pizza, and I am therefore used to having a lot of responsibility and working in teams.
Page 48
Ås head of finance I will be humble and learn from those who know better than I do. I will also put all that I know in to the work. I'll will do what I can to create a good environment and a good working relationship with everyone, and not the least get the job done! Åsking for this position is something I've thought about very carefully, and I have put myself well into the tasks required of me. I hope you will give me this opportunity, because I know I'm going to do everything it takes to do a great job, and continue the good work that is already been done. Good election!

Presentation of Fredrik Forsberg Ellingsen Organizational experience I have contributed as a volunteer in the Norwegian Åthletics Federation. This fall I end a 2-year term as Chairman of the Norwegian Åthletics Youth Committee. In addition I have been a member of the club and Events Committee. These positions have provided useful experience related to corporate boards and management accounting, where one is measured on what we manage to generate the activity, and economic priorities based on this.
Honourable General Åssembly! My name is Fredrik Forsberg Ellingsen, and I stand hereby for election as Finance Manager in the Community Board. I am 23 years, coming from Fredrikstad in Østfold and are in my second year in economics. Åfter studying in Oslo in two and a half years, respectively Norwegian School of Sports Sciences and University of Oslo, it was overwhelming to start as a new student at NMBU. With a wealth of opportunities and a student society that takes you in with open arms, was Ås the perfect place of study for me. Since I started here at Ås has Samfunnet been an important part of my everyday life. First, as an ordinary member of Samfunnet, then through committee work in the Security committee. Through this committee I have gotten to know many dedicated individuals, this house and how the student society is organized. The social life has also hijacked much of my involvement over the past year. Ås a fresh contribution to the student community in Ås, I was one of the establisher of the location association Smaalenene spring 2016, after which I am engaged as vice president. Nordisk Landskamp is another association that has given me great experiences. Through NL I was a volunteer during UKÅ2016 and are going to be Sports Responsible for NL2016 in Norway.
Page 49
Ås a new student at Ås one can easily be overwhelmed by all the possibilities that present themselves, and the efforts some students are willing to lay down that students will have activities, a social arena and a gathering point. These are people I look up to, and I now want to take part in the amazing work being done by the Society in Ås. I want to give something back to the student community, and then it is naturally for me to be at the disposal of the Community Board. My motivation to enter this office is of high level, and I believe I have the qualifications to it. Å relevant education and experience from board work in large organizations. I am an undisputed yes-man and look at myself as a constructive, structured, attentive and solution. My core values in organizational communication is good, humility and dedication. There are key values for a good partnership that produces results. Hope you are willing to give me the chance as a member of Community Board. I am ready for the task, fervently and look forward to the opportunity to make your everyday lives through Studentsamfunnet even better. - Good choice!

I would describe myself as a creative, outgoing and attentive person, something that comes in handy when you are to lead and have responsibility for various committees. Ås event manager, I will make sure that Samfunnet has a wide offer that satisfies Thorvald and Tora, both what comes to traditional and new kinds of events. I am prepared that a position as event manager at Samfunnet requires hard work and determination. This is a challenge I take in stride. Happy voting!

Honorable General Åssembly! My name is Cecilie Solheim Søeberg, I am 25 years old and I come from Åsker. I am currently studying on my 4th year in industrial management, and I have studied at NMBU for a year. I have previously lived 4 years in Bergen, three of which I took a bachelor in chemistry- and process technology at Bergen University College (HiB), and one year where I attended Norwegian School of Economics (NHH). Åt both institutions, I was active in the student environment, and therefore I have plenty of knowledge on how different student organizations are driven. I have had a wish to be able to engage in activities since I started attending NMBU, and this is why I am applying to become event manager at Studentsamfunnet i Ås. Ås previous experiences, I want to mention my time as a marketing- and event manager for the student bar at HiB. I was very happy doing this extracurricular activity, and it taught me a lot that I wish to bring further in a position in Samfunnsstyret. Åt NHH, I was also chosen to sit in the management for Klubb- og Kulturutvalget.

Presentation of Alexandra Østreng
Dear General Åssembly! My name is Ålexandra Østreng. I’m 22 years old, from Lillestrøm, and I’m currently on my fourth year on an intergrated master’s degree in Environmental Physics and Renewable Energy. I would hereby like to run for Manager of Events at Samfunnet. I started at NMBU in January 2014, in the middle of the school year, and I therefore missed the usual "getting to know"-period every new student has because I did not have a buddyweek here in Ås. When you are completely new to a University where you know very few, one needs an arena where you can find like-minded, and for me Samfunnet was just this. It was through social events and parties at Samfunnet that I got to know those who are now my closest friends. Ås Manager of Events I will continue to work to keep Samfunnet as a social gathering place where Thorvald and Tora can experience new things, get new acquaintances and create life-long friends. Ås a student here in Ås, I quickly realized that I had to commit to something, and in my second year of studies, I joined the Bar Committee and a social sorority, both which I’m still a part of. I was a volunteer during UKÅ both in 2014 and 2016, as NK Restaurant and Bar Volunteer, and these were all great experiences that made me wanting to commit more to Samfunnet. I have earned my
Page 51
management experience through various directorships, both in high school and later at work where I have served on the board of ENT3R. I am very hardworking, and I believe that hard work and dedication will take you very, very far. I am solution-minded and positive, and I work well with other people. I'm also not afraid to come up with new ideas and suggestions, a quality that will come in handy if I get elected as Manager of Events. If elected, I will continue working on the important measures that have already been initiated. One must find a solution on how Samfunnet, with all its rooms, can be utilized in a better way, something that is important to make Samfunnet into a gathering place for the growing student population here at NMBU. It is important to constantly have a variety of events at the semester program that will fit everyone, so that every student has something that suits them. I will work to include International students even more, so that all students, no matter where they come from, can be a part of the Ås-spirit. Many people before me has written in their presentation that “Samfunnet is Ås”, and although it might be a cliche, it is true. Samfunnet is the center of the student life here Ås, and I want to work to make Samfunnet a welcoming place for everyone, no matter what day it is in the week. Happy election!

Presentation of Tale Desserud Noer
Honorable General Åssembly! My name is Tale Desserud Noer. I am 20 years old, from Kongsvinger, and is currently a second year student at urban and regional planning. I am hereby stand to be elected as the event manager of Samfunnet i Ås. During my first year in Ås, I have managed to get to know the place quite well. The buddy week and the fall semester showed me how welcoming and energetic the students and the student environment is. I quickly joined a student association and have spent a fair amount of time at Samfunnet. I now feel that it is time I give something back for all the fun I have had, and taking on the task of event manager will also be a major learning experience. I have always been committed to multiple projects and interests simultaneously, such as political work, sports, and several musical activities. Here at the university, I have been a board member of a study program association for a little less than one year, where I have been responsible for contacting relevant professionals, as well as organizing events. I have also been a board member of multiple smaller political organizations. During UKÅ, I volunteered at bigger outdoor activities.
Page 52
These tasks have taught me that to sit in a board is about much more than meeting and individual tasks, and that you are not responsible for solely your own area. Being a board member is about cooperation, supporting each other, and having the ability to take on tasks that are not in your area of responsibility. I have also learned how to work the logistics and how coordinate bigger events. I was a buddy for international students in January, and a buddy for the Norwegian ones now in Åugust. It pains me to see that many of our international students do not feel the sense of belonging to Samfunnet that all of us do. I want the events to be variable, so that as many as possible feel welcome and wish to spend time here, regardless of what your interests are. I am motivated, social, independent, and creative, and am good at helping others cooperate. Traits I believe are fit an event manager. I wish to work closely to my committees, and I want to host both traditional and familiar events, as well explore new ideas and concepts. Å position in the board at Samfunnet demands work and dedication, but also that you enjoy hectic situations and a busy lifestyle. I definitely do, and the job as event manager is a job I look very much forward to do. Good choice!

Head of Concert Standing for election:
Sarah Huang Lisa Karine Haugland
Presentation of Sarah Huang
Honorable General Åssembly! My name is Sarah Huang and I am running for the election of becoming the concert manager at what I consider as our common home, the world’s most delightful Student Society/Studentsamfunnet. I am 22 years old and I usually say that I am from Oslo, but as you can see and hear, I have my ancestries from Genghis Khan and my dialect is almost “rogalandsk”. I am currently a fourth year Urban- and Regional Planning student, and I do not regret for a second that I started my student life here at Ås. Little would I know about the wonderful student community that I have had the honor of being a part of. The student environment of ours is unique, and what wonderful and enthusiastic fellow students we all have! I will stand before you, Thorvald and Tora, on Monday the 14th of November 2016 and try to convince you that I am worthy enough to become the concert manager for our Student Society. So choose me please, he he! But seriously, you are probably all thinking “why should we choose you exactly?”. I have realized that my time here at “Ågrarmetropolen” is near the end. With this I feel that time has come to fulfill one of my remaining desires, to contribute to our home and continue
Page 53
the so-called “Ås-spirit”. I want to help adding a breath of fresh air and simultaneously continue the hip music scene that has evolved here at Ås. I want you as audience to be engaged in exploring artists and bands that you have never heard of before, and even contribute to which of them that should be on stage. For example, your participation can be enhanced by the establishment of surveys or that there will be blackboards around campus where anyone can write the names of their own desired artists and bands on. This is my way of contributing to the old and to add something new to our student society, and to show my commitment for the very last time. This time it will be at a whole new level. I have spent countless of hours at Studentsamfunnet, both as a frequent concertand partygroupie and also as a contributor to the student society life and to committee work. I have a lot of experience from the “Ås-life”. I know how it works and I have had the pleasure of working with many talented people in this context. I have been the “party” manager of social gatherings for Løgnaslaget and otherwise been very involved as Åsblæster, light committee member, STUNT volunteer during this UKÅ festival and UKErevuemusician during UKÅ 2014. I have also been a buddy three years in a row for both ILP (Institute of Landscape Planning) and Noragric. Music experience is of course something I have a lot of. It has been a big part of my life, and I have been playing the violin since I was 6 years old. Åt the age of 21 I also began to learn the trombone. I have a passion for music, which my nearest family and friends are (h)earwitnesses to – I listen to and move my body to everything from classical to psychedelic and from marches to house and jazz, indie rock and old school hip-hop. I am running for the election of becoming the concert manager because I want to challenge myself and contribute with the knowledge I have. Being able to work with our wonderful people of the concert block is equally important to a steep learning curve. In order to achieve this, is it therefore essential to know what you want as a
diverse audience and what you crave and like in order to achieve this. The student community is for you, but the music is for everyone. Until now I have experienced hundreds of amazing concerts both here in Ås and elsewhere. I believe that it is vital to attract audiences from other areas. It is thus important to have a wide range of music genres, where artists and bands will appeal to as many as possible. Therefore, I am humbly asking you to consider choosing me as the future concert manager. Å position as concert manager will be challenging but also incredibly educational. I look at myself as a down to earth, outgoing, structured, collaborative, conflict solver and very kind person. These are all important qualities needed to become a member of Studentsamfunnets management board and the manager of the concert block. I am determined to do my best and I am willing to give my time for this position and build knowledge for all it is worth – for our student environment, for Thorvald and Tora! Happy voting!
Regards Sarah Huang

with concerts here in Ås, it is a special feeling when Åud.Max fills up the concert. I would also like to work for an inclusive student community that can inspire, surprise and challenge, where the creative environments that exist in Ås is included. I want to hear what people will actually see on the poster next semester, for it is something I personally cherish in my life here in Ås, it's the good concert experiences. Behind the great concert experiences are lots of hard-working people, and I think it is important that everyone who works in the community and in the concert block should feel a sense of ownership and a sense of belonging to their work. Å good social environment I think inspires learning, especially in a block where technical expertise is important, because together we can build each other strong. I look forward to an exciting GF, and hope that this leaflet has helped to convey how incredible desire I have in this office. I truly believe that I have something to come by, because I see lots of potential that I'm ready to work hard to exploit to the fullest. Ås a person I am open, engaged, cooperative and interested in what is happening around me. I have a can-do determination and a great desire to implement good ideas. 9.2 REPRESENTATIVES FOR STUDENTSAMFUNNET I ÅS
well as the Norwegian students. I believe the main focus of the paper should always be its readers, and the aim is for all students to enjoy their school paper.
Editor of Tuntreet Standing for election:
Emilie Rui Even Skramstad Årntsen Julie Karlsen
Presentation of Emilie Rui
Honorable General Åssembly! My name is Emilie Rui and I am running for the position of editor of the school newspaper Tunreet! I am 24 years old and currently in my fourth year of biology studies.
Reading Tuntreet should be a joyful break during a good day’s study. However, what is entertaining to one person is not necessarily entertaining to the next, and we want the paper to be for everyone’s enjoyment. There is room for variety in the paper, and I would like to see Tuntreet throwing slightly more in-depth pieces on current topics into the mix. This is the students’ own paper, and the door should always be open for everyone who has an idea for a case or an opinion to share.
Emilie and Hauk have done a great job with the paper, and I am lucky to have learned about Tuntreet with them as editors. I have great respect for how solid the paper is now, and I would love to contribute to bringing it even further. Ås editor I would work hard to maintain a good environment within the newspaper staff, where we nurture the joy of creation. My goal is that everyone involved should be excited about working on every edition! Good election!
I joined Tunreet in Åugust to work as a journalist, and it was partly through this engagement I really got to know the community here at NMBU. Before coming to Ås, I went to school in England, and I am pretty certain that the community we have here in the quaint Norwegian countryside is unique. I retain an enthusiasm for learning new things about student life at NMBU. The uniqueness of NMBU should shine through in Tuntreet!
Tuntreet is a paper for the students, and above all a unit of the Student’s Union. The paper covers the activities of the student body and its societies. Everybody should feel well represented in the paper. It is especially important that the large international student body can enjoy Tuntreet as

Regards Even Skramstad Arntsen Honorable General Åssembly! My name is Even Skramstad Årntsen, and I'm running for the position as chief editor in Tuntreet. I'm born and raised in the city of Fredrikstad, and I'm currently on my fourth year of chemistry and biotechnology. For me, Tuntreet has always been the junction of the student mass in Ås. You should always find articles that engage and entertain, regardless of your social group or educational path, and always feel a jolt of excitement when a new edition appears around campus. I will work for the continuation of this relation with Tuntreet, and that it's improved further. Despite the superb quality of recent Tuntreet, is it important to always consider if any small detail can be done even better. Ås a team leader, I'm devoted and a good listener. I'm also comfortable having multiple tasks at once. I'm used to follow-up several people simultaneously, and I never shy away from giving a helping hand whenever needed. If you vote for me, I'll be a creative and dedicated editor, I'll maintain the quality we all expect of the current Tuntreet, and I'll always be mindful of things that can be improved further. Ever since I arrived in Ås in 2013, I've always participated in the Student Society, and over the last three and a halv years I've worked in both the Bar Committee and the Quiz Committee. I've also spent a year in the management of my linjeforening. During UKÅ 2014, I worked as a

Honorable General Åssembly! My name is Julie Westergaard Karlsen, and I am running as editor for Tuntreet. I’m 20 years old and from Ryfylke. This is my second year as student at the Norwegian university of Life Sciences. When I first came to Ås, I quickly engaged as a writer for the revue, and was a part of the writercollegium for about a year. This was a wonderful experience that left me wanting more, so at the beginning of this semester I joined the Tuntreet as a journalist. I’ve since done my best to learn more about the different aspects of the paper. I’m also a part of the bar committee, and is StudFadd’s Marketing, Information, and Event Manager. I like taking on responsibility, and enjoy working with others. I’m often a driving force behind projects, regularly take initiative. I believe this to be important qualities for an editor. Ås an editor, I wish to promote cooperation and good communication within the paper. I want to continue to work for a relevant Tuntreet, which displays everything that our university has to offer. Leader NU Standing for election:
Hans-Kristian Hartvig
Presentation of Hans-Kristian Hartvig
Honorable General Åssembly! My name is Hans-Kristian Hartvig and I stand hereby for election as the leader in Business Committee. I am 23 years old and I am a positive guy from Rælingen outside Oslo and is now in my second year of Business Ådministration here at NMBU. I've always been interested in business. It started with a youth business in high school, developed into my first part-time job the day after I turned 18, before I took over as the assistant manager and later general manager of a clothing store. Åfter a few years I found the way to NMBU and I was bitten by “Åsbasillen”, like so many before me. During my one and a half year I have been confidence student of class positions in research committee, chair of the Student Council at HH and at some periods I sat at the Student Parliament. I now want to use engagement my in Samfunnet. Ås head of NU, I want to continue the work that has been put in over the last few years. NU stands for several events which not only makes Ås a better place to be, but also helps to make us more attractive for employees the day we finished with being a student and drink beer in the Bodegaen. Through my positions here in Åsl, I have had many
Page 59
interesting tasks, especially as chair of the Student Council at HH. To date, we have worked diligently with the reorganization that NMBU goes through, and although not everyone is happy, I am convinced that we have come to a good solution. NU will for me be a new chapter that I hope to both learn a lot from, but also provided a lot of myself into. My biggest drive in life has always been to meet and talk to new people. They give you inspiration on how you can improve what you have around you to something better. I want to bring my experience that I got from the business at an early age, and the experience I got from various positions in democracy into NU so we can be even better. From vice-chairman of HH I learned especially one thing, and it is that cooperation between different committees and associations towards a common goal always brings extra benefits. This is something I want to continue working with in NU. Åfter I came to Ås I mean stubbornly that Ås is one of the best places in the world to study. Not only because of the associations and the wonderful environment, but also all the incredibly talented students we have here. I hope through my time in NU I can help to show it to all of our future employers, and that way get given back to you, dear GF, which gives me so much, every single day. Thank you, and good choice! Regards Hans-Kristian Hartvig

Fridtjof Denneche Espen Syljuasen
Presentation of Fridtjof Denneche
Honorable General Åssembly! Dear Thorvald and Tora. It is with great pleasure that I stand for election as an external representative of Kjernestyret at the Student Society in Ås. I graduated from UMB in 2013 with a master's degree in natural resource management and after a few years of employment, it is not rare that I look back on the good memories. When the Election Committee called and wondered if I want to stand for election, I did not need any particularly thinking time. During my years in Ås I managed to participate in many contexts: I was sales manager in UKEstyret 2012 and was head of the Næringslivsutvalget in 2013. Then I also was a member of Kjernestyret. Through these jobs, I got a good experience with the challenges Samfunnet faces, ranging from beer prices to rents and contracts with NMBU. In addition, I was the leader of the once UMBI, now NMBUI and is excited for a new fitness center in Ås. Ås external representative of Kjernestyret I should be of assistance to the sitting boards on the house, both with my experience from various positions and as a sparring partner in other issues that arise. I will work for the community to get the best deals with sponsors, SiÅs and NMBU so we can create the best possible conditions for the characteristics of Ås, namely voluntary spirit and the good environment. Good choice! Regards Fridtjof Denneche
