UKA stands on its own. All the glory to the UKE board for a successful student festival.

Reports

The month we now have entered, shows that the Student Society continuously are working for a wider offer of activities. In November The Student Society so far has arranged a car race tournament, beer and politics, quiz, stentorbodega, blue Monday-concert, The Union Sheecats «do it yourself»-night, The Society’s Grand Prix and Mafiaparty with the Student Big band. Even more events are to come!

Summary spring/fall 2014 To take over The Student Society’s operations after a cheerful trønder has been interesting. My ambitions have been high from the very beginning, and the board has definitely put down an honorable effort to live up to them.

During the summer, we got a new web page up and running. This was a facelift for The Student Society that made it more motivating to sell the Ås Spirit to new students. August was intense and full of events. New as well as old students were good at signing in the Society, and we reached 1200 during the first month. A strong focus on including the international students by arranging an own introduction day at the Society for them, in addition to having more information available in English, also made it more interesting for them to sign in.

The Core Board has worked hard to land a new agreement on ownership and our daily business with NMBU and SiÅs. I hope Thorvald og Tora doesn’t feel the challenges this brings. The Core Board has been able to make big investments on the house, thanks to contributions from Sparebankstiftelsen and Musikkutstyrsordningen. Better equipment is good for both the artists playing and the audience listening.

It is a great honor to lead this organization. I grant a huge thanks to The Society Board, The UKE Board, skilled committee bosses in both organizations, an engaged Core Board, and last, but not least – happy and curios members of The Student Society in Ås! It always motivates me to see smiling people on “Society Service”. The association life lives stronger than ever, must Thorvald and Tora have The Society live at least 150 years more!

Cheap Stand up and theme parties in August was more popular than more expensive concerts. We note this. Both CLMD and Kaveh were good nights, either way. Having Hoopla as a new ticket supplier has worked out fine. When a student triggered the fire alarm on purpose, we tested our fire routines and the new fire alert system – it did us some good!

September offered a memorable celebration of our anniversary. In the spirit of volunteering, a huge amount of working hours was put down.

4.1 Preliminary report and comments on the work of the board of “Samunnet” fall 2014 The Student Society board consists of: Marit Strand, president Erling Bjurbeck, deputy Anne Sofie Fjeldstad, chief of administration Amund Hågenrud, chief of finance Henrik Hveding, chief of marketing Marie Hammer Håversen, chief of arrangement Steffen Aronsen, chief of concerts

3. Make sure to give UKA the best possible starting point to arrange the one and only UKA. There has been good chemistry between the UKE board and the Society Board. This has been a good basis for our cooperation. Leaving the house in UKAs care went well and the committees did a thorrow job in counting equipment and cleaning out the Society of the house. Now UKAs has left the house back in our care, and we are pleased with their clean up.

Work program fall 2014: 1. Have at least two concerts in Aud. Max. CLMD, Madcon and Datarock are the three bands playing in Aud. Max. this fall. NMBU are now in control of booking in Aud. Max. and they charge us 10 000 NOK for washing.

In August, the Society Board did an honorable effort to wash on our own after CLMD, without any success. Using this stage is more complicated than before, especially when it comes to the combination of lectures and early get in for artists. We need to work on this.

4. Make sure that this falls activities goes smooth with lectures on the building.

The communication between the study department at NMBU and us could have been better. It is always a surprise to us when they plan to have lectures here. On the other hand, the never seem to remember our associations revues or our arrangement plans. The administration boss had a meeting with the study department in October, and this was a good start in making our relationship better.

The Society Board thinks that to two big concerts in Aud. Max. in it self not should be a goal, but that there should be at least to “big fests”, true to tradition.

5. Facilitate a good cooperation between the campus in Ås and the one on Adamstuen, and include the Adamstuen-students in the student Society in Ås.

2. Arrange at least two Society meetings with a current or an eccentric topic.

The Veterinary students were invited to Ås during the buddy week. Unfortunately, they

start later than our August block, and very few came for visit. UKA had busses many nights between Adamstua and Ås going back and forth to parties. Unfortunately, very few used this opportunity to visit Ås. Adamstua have their own student Society, and we will continue to work for a closer cooperation. Nevertheless, we understand that they have their own arrangements.

The Society Board and the rest of the organization was not prepared for how much effort this weekend would need of us. Many things should have been done different. Still, Ås showed that if there are things that needs to be done, there are always someone who will stand up and give a hand.

Staff Competence Bodegakonsernet, the boards of UKA and Samfunnet has held a seminar on how we operate event of the house. We had with us a hired organizer guru from the Norwegian Concert Promoters, put down clear technical procedures and discussed attitudes, staff and crisis management. There has been considerable focus on how we can do samfunnstjeneste/volunteering better.

7. Make it a priority to make important information available in English so that international students can participate more.

This has definitely been prioritized this fall. A mantra to me, is that there is nothing stopping international students in taking part in The Society’s daily operations, either on “society service” or in a committee, as long as we let them now they can. Now all information is supposed to be available in both Norwegian and English. If the translation lacks, this is because of a simple mistake; Make sure to tell us! This fall, the case-documents for the General Assembly is also available in English ☺

The building Community building should ila. November get a technical assessment to provide an overview of the building's condition, under the auspices of NMBU. The assessment will be used in the planning of maintenance and renovation. This summer the whole building new brannmelderand emergency lighting system. This has increased fire safety and made our use of the system easier under arrangement. NMBU has done a major renovation in Aud.Max.,

Including new toilets, HC-lift and a new corner bar. Improvement Committee, with yours truly at the forefront, working with new internal signage on the house in original architectural style and has begun planning the refurbishment of John's and cafeteria. In addition, work is ongoing maintenance and technical upgrades, including lighting and doors.

Report from the head of administration - Fall 2014 Anne Sofie Bråge Fjeldstad Members of “Samfunnet” Pr. 17 November 2014, we have more than 1600 members. Out of this, 135 are international members. We have 330 committee members on the “free-list”. 45 people are on “free-free list”.

UKA UKA and the board of Samfunnet has had a successful collaboration. There have been good solutions for the joint use of equipment and each other's expertise in many areas. The house has been delivered in good condition after UKA and the cleanup was incredibly fast.

Community Services We have worked on improving the use of Linticket and scanning in the entrance. Three new PCs are installed, and user manuals are made to social services. A new scheme of three personnel managers has replaced the former two. This fall, Carina Hansen, Kristin Abry and Maria Melheim have been personnel managers. New of this year is that these persons are responsible for blocking the membership. The reason for extra-employed personnel was caused by the fact that more work must be done in order to get a higher attendance rate among social services on party nights. New scheme with sms-reminder was introduced which has been very helpful.

Society service this fall (September and 2 weeks in November) has been really good.

Attendance percentages are between 95 100%, and we believe that the reason for this is information given in august to new students, in addition to the Personal managers´ work.

They are largely self-sufficient, a BIG thank you to you girls!

Nomination comities (Valgnemnda) and General Assembly The election board consisted of:

Per-Fredrik Nordhov, Mari Hulleberg, Lars Raaen and Linn Hammernes. Nomination Committee's most important task is recruiting candidates for election at GF, and to help with the implementation of GF. This fall, the nomination committee worked very well, we have had many constructive meetings. Short information presentations have been given in the main lectures. Thank you for the good cooperation and the efforts everyone! Special thanks to Lars Raaen and Linn Hammers who now are done in the nomination committee.

Good luck to Per-Fredrik and Mari! We have once again chosen to hold GF Aud. Max., and we continue the success of the “response meters”. Robert Bykvist (infuture) is our Mentometer man. Thanks to him for good cooperation.

Report from Chief of economy - Fall 2014 Amund Hågenrud In autumn 2014 the Society section has been short and intensive due UKA its entry into the house. In the period before the vacuum we had some events with some financial risk in the form of concerts , including two pieces in AudMax and Anniversary celebration.

Anniversary celebration should be as cheap as possible to give the most back to the students and was selected among 150 NOK entry , with security from core board . This made the " kickoff " was not as remunerative as it tends to be . There were also these events with the greatest risk, which unfortunately turned out and not get the greatest support among its membership . On the other hand, it has been better support and visits to other, smaller events . In general , this has been the trend throughout the year , where the smaller events revues and theme parties that have been sources of income and well- visited theme parties .

Forecasts per 1.11 does not yet seem to be able to come within budget target set by the Executive Board , but with much of the year again it's a little hard to say for sure.

On the personnel side , there have been some new into the economy block and others have returned and been present . Tord Steel Storbækken returned as IT manager, something he has been in the past with success , Remi Aasum has emerged as an accountant , and Marius Askeland Hertaas has entered a General Manager . I would also like to thank Anne Marte responsible accounting officer and eye on our guide both for society , Core Board , Tuntreet and NLU . She fit in and have

The use of rooms at Samfunnet: Use of space at “Samfunnet” is a constant challenge as more people want to use the room several times a week. I have tried my best to keep the plan updated, fulfil desires and notify changes. There will be “romfordelingsmøte” Wednesday, November 19, together with the event manager. Requests of using rooms are sent to: administrasjon@samfunnetiaas.no.

To use rooms for free we required that 75% of the group or association are members of “Samfunnet”.

Finally I would like to thank my board-friends for a great time. It has been informative, challenging, but not least, fun to sit in this board for one year. Autumn is well underway , and we do not have many events left before it 's Christmas and New Year . Marketing this semester has largely focused on posters, facebook and the website .

We currently have 4300 likes on facebook . We have good contacts with both Aasavis and Østlandets blad and the advertising agreement with Østlandets blade is under renewal .

This season, the Student Society in Ås have got a new website, this has made it easier to create articles on current events, and more attractive for people to read . The website has opened for many more possibilities than the old , and we are working with ideas about new ways to use the website. For this reason, the website is under continuous development, and therefore still in some places appear to be under construction.

The website appears much more professional than the previous one, which was a goal when the work to get a new one began. Efforts to select the provider took time , but we ended up choosing a cheap and good solution that has given us very good service.

The community has also gone over to the new ticket service provider, Hoopla , which we got to try the first time in the buddy week. This system worked smoothly , and the visitors can buy a ticket from a mobile phone, which is a big advantage. Scanning in the entrance is also now virtually hassle free . The solution that you can scan with any smart phone also helps.

Report from the Event Manager - Fall 2014 Marie H. Håversen Event organisation group: Today the organizing committee consists of nine people, where 4 is in the quiz group, 4 in “bodegagruppa” and Student Board is represented by the International Officer. The Football Committee consists of 7 persons and costume group consists of 5 people. The work in “bodegagruppa” is doing fine, without major problems. The committee are participating in the planning and implementation of events at the Student Society that are not concerts. In addition, the committee members work on ticket control before large concerts.

Quiz: This group is for planning and implementation of all quiz evenings in “Cafeklubben”. We continue with theme quiz.

The Quiz Masters are satisfied with this, and it seems like participants are satisfied too.The Football Committee works good. They organize themselves and show some games in the football room every week. The Costume committee work as much as they can to keep order in costume store. This is not an easy job when UKA has spent much of the costumes.

Cleanup in costume store has been done after UKA with Prop KS Anne N. Semb’s help.

Semesterprogram August: The Buddy week began with a full Aud.Max during the stand up show with Zahid Ali. Under Graskurs Part 1, we changed the layout of the scene from the previous year, the new this year was that no more than 30

organizations got time on stage. This meant that the event lasted approximately 90 minutes compared to nearly four hours earlier.

Theme party 8-bit later that night, the same night as CLMD stood on stage was just ok.

Graskurs Part 2 had 20 participants, who all showed their union in a good way. The theme party “Armyparty” was cool with a lot of good disguises, and a military tanks over the entrance to Halvors Hybel as bodegagruppa had madr. Clever people! The quiz started after the summer August 21 and was soon well attended. Stand Up with Henrik Thodesen had moved from Halvors to Festsalen due to good ticket sales!

Fallsemester: September came quickly with a well visited Cafe Tuesday with the lecture "Ås student thru 150 years" in connection with the Student society's 150th anniversary celebration.

Anniversary commemoration was successful seen from the guest perspective, but for us behind the scenes it was a busy weekend with a lot to do at the last minute. Such an anniversary must be planned more than 1 year in advance. Contact the Board for a report from the anniversary weekend. Cafe Tuesday with knitting was not a "hit". Unfortunately, even though it was competent persons present.

Cafe Tuesday will disappear more and more, as reported by previous General assembly. We will also arrange debates and presentations on Tuesdays. The principle of "Bodega + Beer and politics" has been a success, and with good cooperation with Ås Senterstud we find current topics. It is Ås Senterstud who are responsible for the implementation of these evenings. Thank you guys! After UKE-Kickoff the event manager has worked to organize the archives and to prepare this General Assembly.

Right now, the house has opened after UKA. In the coming weeks there will be organized events like Bilbaneturnering, Stentorbodega

and Society Grand Prix before GF. After today we will host a Stand Up with Ørjan Burøe, cafetuesday with gingerbread and gløgg, before Christmastreebodega and Hittegodsbodega comes along.

The spring semester is under planning, where the program for January is complete planned.

This means that the newly-elected after tonight will have time to learn the routines mm. without being thrown into something completely new with time constraints. This is a practice we want to proceed further so that the overlap between the outgoing and the newly elected will be better and easier for both parts in the future.

Finally, I take this opportunity to thank my committee members for a great partnership, great fun and new acquaintances. I am grateful for the confidence I received from the General Assembly on 28 October 2013! This year the Board, I would never be without it.

Report from Concert Manager - Fall 2014 Steffen Aron Aronsen Autumn is a busy period with mentor week and parties on studentsociety. UKA released his program that contained lots of exciting and great artists. Saturday 13.sep UKA took over the house and these things then naturally led to fewer events for me and the board. At the moment there are still two concerts left from my side to be taken care of before the examination hassle really sets in.

Concerts: August: (CLMD and Kaveh) Under mentor week the Norwegian DJ duo's played it’s last concert together in Aud Max 13Aug. Lots of new students were dressed as game characters and it was a nice start for the fall semester and the introduction week for many.

22. Aug. we were visited by rap-artist Kaveh who played in Festsalen. Slightly lower attendance than we had hoped for when we have to compete with an event in Oslo that evening.

September: (Iselin Andresen and Madcon) After finals, we had a visit from Iselin Andresen in Rosehagen were she was playing, she was actually the first artist we had here with the concept “Blåmandag” four years ago.

Therefore, it was fun and get to visit again. She played up for a full house and there was a good atmosphere.

Semester Kickoff came with two famous people that we finally got to the society in Ås.

Madcon became part of the anniversary weekend and we got support from the school, which meant that we could take 150kr for our members. The concert was held to a packed Aud Max and the mood was awesome! Good show!

After this came UKAvakuum that led to sound and light cleaned up at the house before UKA to begin.

November: (Line Kåsa and Data Rock) November starts with a new blåmandagskonsert where 16-year-old pianist Line Kåsa who released her first album last year is going to visit us. A quiet and pleasant concert that is worth to see.

To end the concert and autumn we have booked Datarock! Guys with red tracksuits who have made it big in recent years with the US tour and his own musical! Datarock is a band one should experience at least once in their life; they get help from Pikekoret-IVAR. This is an evening you should have with you!

exclusive dinner. Each company could invite three students that they met on the Career Day. We received very positive feedback in terms of the actual day and the exclusive dinner. NLU want to continue exclusive dinner next Career Day, and to make further efforts to increase professionalism and to get a more diverse variety of companies.

4.4 Preliminary report from the Buisness Committee´s (NLU) work

Coordination group NLUs work to assemble associations and organisations with connections to the business community, and to increase the level of professionalism amongst these, have now paid of. The results is a new Coordination Group, determined to follow self written guidelines and reporting to Samfunnet through NLU and to NMBU through the student council and the director of the university.

Career Day October 8th this year the Career Day at NMBU was held. 77 different companies attended the event, and it was a good attendance of students. This year we added something new to the event, exclusive dinner. 12 of the 77 companies attended the

The focus for the fall of 2014 has been to enhance the editorial processes and to effectively organize Tuntreet. This work will be relevant for an online edition of the magazine.

Report will be available in appendix on the General Assembly.

The break even-goal will not be achieved.

This highlights the need to establish longterm advertisement deals. The cooperation with UKA and NLU must continue and be further developed.

Funds from advertisements is a real challenge in nonUKE-years.

The funding from NMBU was negotiated in the spring of 2014. The agreement is still not in place. The plan is for this to be in effect from 2014 and on.

A new website is planned for January 2015.

The digital archive will be organized during the same period.

The production run is constant per issue, 1500 copies. Campus Adamstuen has not received Tuntreet for the fall of 2014.

Skambankt, X-Rusefest, Highasakite and Rumble In Rhodos were in Festsalen. We are very pleased with the fast-paced revue semester and one well completed miniUKA.

1. Provide UKA the best possible starting point to conduct miniUKA and UKA The Lissie concert came too close to MiniUKA, as did GF. Apart from that, there was good communication between the booking managers for UKA and The Student Society. The Student Society Board has been available for UKA, but there are a competent bunch who do well on their own.

3. Hold two Society Meetings The first Society meeting was with Thorstein Lerhol. It was very poor attendance, which was also the case for the Society meetings in autumn 2013. Here we saw a huge potential for improvement. In cooperation with political organizations, we launched the "Beer and politics" as a low-threshold services in Bodegaen. Here, various speakers educate the audience about a topic, and then

open for questions and debate. Agricultural politics was the theme for startup evening and had 25 attending with eagerness to discuss.

4. Arrange a day where volunteers clean the house thoroughly cleaned Sunday 27th April was voluntary where they really cleaned the house. With many attending and good labor among them, it went smoothly.

The house was unrecognizable tidy afterwards. All glory to the accurately deputy.

5. Ensure that our activities go smoothly, ref. undergraduate built Our members hopefully have not noticed that there has been lectures in Aud.Max. Festsalen was not used much, so this did not create problems. Lectures in Aud.Max. creates some additional work. 6. Hold x-russe party There was no preparty at Pentagon because it is difficult to control. As before, the xrusse party went over the top. A toilet and benches at Pentagon became battered. Too drunk guests at the Society building and to few attending volunteers made it barely safe to open the house, and the house closed early. The concert with Kobojsarna went smoothly.

For me it was naturally to do this through taking up different positions and responsibilities within Samfunnet and many of the social clubs connected to the university. I have been in charge of putting up a revue show for both the quire S. Lærken and Trøndernes Fagforening. This gave me much experience with administration and the ability to get individual people to form groups and work towards a common goal.

Being a vice president is a two-sided task.

And I am also the president of the social committee on NORAGRIC, Globalis. My board experiences are based much on my task as a student representative in in the Academic Affairs Committee at NMBU.

During my years here I have spent quite a bit of time at Samfunnet, especially during my stint as Chief Light Technician. The experience from that time, which includes recruiting and training of technicians, working closely with the other staff groups and in this case also maintaining our inhouse concert equipment is probably one of my best qualifications. As vice chairman I intend to continue the reforms and excellent work started by our current vice chair, Erling Bjurbeck, with regards to staff training. I will also put considerable effort into the maintenance of Samfunnet.

This is my second year here at NMBU and I’m having the best time of my life. After studying here for one year, the student community has made me realize that this is what i really want to do! Already I have knowledge of parts of the artist industry, but then mainly the applicable riders and the technical side, and I now want to expand my horizons and enter booking. I have worked closely with the booking manager for UKA in 2014, and the Konsertsjef of Samfunnet and gained an insight into how they work. It seems very interesting, and I think that I can do a good job. During UKA 2014 I came in contact with some booking agents and managers. I sat in the role of Concert lighting chief, next time I want it to be as Konsertsjef.

My name is Anne Marte Minge Engh and I’m running for election as head of the concerts and booking this year.

When it comes to what I want to achieve as a concert manager, I have no plans for large and extravagant artists. I would rather like more, but small concerts in Halvors, which can meet the needs of those looking for niche genres, and instead focus on artists who reach out to a wider audience range from Ås students in the larger concert halls.

Previously there has been booked artists to Halvors which today has become relatively large, and it is a good trend. Unfortunately, outside UKA, there has not been booked any artists for Halvors this semester. That I want to change.

I’m 23 years, from Sarpsborg and I’m at my third year in Environmental Physics and Renewable Energy. I run for election because I'm interested in music, I like to keep up with what's happening in the music industry and I now want to engage at Samfunnet. I love live music, both to discover new artists and to see your favorite band play live is amazing!

During the past year, I have been a member of the board of Engineers Without Borders student's department here at the University.

I have been the head of the group responsible for the events, both the internal events and the ones open for everyone. In this role I have gained good experience in being part of a board and being the leader of a group.I am a person who likes to have a lot of responsibility, I learn quickly and are easy to cooperate with. The activity manager has responsibility for all events that are not concerts or revue under UKA. These are many types of events for many types of audiences. Examples of events I was responsible for was the Amazing Race under miniUKA, lectures, extremesportsday, theme parties and much more. Membership at “Samfunnet”

In addition to the 1-, 3- and 5-year membership, we will maintain Lifetime Membership, renamed "Lifetime support membership". Naturally, these members are not called into Community service, but will be entitled to vote at the GF. The Community Board argues the latter with the following: If lifelong members want to use their time and commitment to participation in general assembly’s this should be possible.

We are exclusively positive for involvement of "retired souls". However, future Community Boards should consider whether this is little feasible and inappropriate as a member group increases in number.

Based on the discussion about membership held on GF spring 2014 we have made a conclusion.

With more students at NMBU and a larger membership database at “Samfunnet”, we want to introduce new types of memberships, beyond the one-year we currently have. We therefore wish to introduce a 3-year and 5-year membership, in addition to retaining one-year. For members, a slightly reduced price occur compared to sign up for one-year membership year after year. For the “Samfunnet” this may ensure a steady and predictable member-database over time and help us to solve the challenge of Social Services in August. In addition, it may contribute to increased attendance of Community Services as the threshold for not meeting up will be higher with the consequence that the membership is blocked.

The new memberships will be a fact from autumn semester 2015.

This orientation matter is included in propositions of changing statutes in Case 9.1.
