Case 5 Preliminary reports for Studentsamfunnet i Ås for autumn 2026 5.1 The Board of Samfunnet The following is reports from board members from the Board of Samfunnet. Leaders report is on behalf of the Samfunnet board.
Report from leder Kristian Lund Vang Honourable General Assembly! The Board of Samfunnet i Ås for the autumn semester of 2026 consists of the following members: Chair: Kristian Lund Vang Head of Administration: Mathilde Buttedahl Head of Finance: Ola Reinskou Andersen Incoming Head of Finance: Silje Stengrimsen Head of Bodega: Snorre Langeland Moberg Head of Events: Sunniva McNamara Hundere Incoming Head of Events: Lisa Hoa Kieu Vo Head of Marketing: Telle Bratås What a semester it has been! This autumn has been filled with a fast pace, successful operations, and, not least, an incredible effort from our KSs, KMs, and community services. Those of us elected this spring have long since settled into our roles, and the Board has certainly been kept busy throughout an eventful semester. We kicked off the autumn with a Buddy Week that truly set the standard. Despite
still being without Aud Max, we sold over 4,000 tickets in August, and every single party night sold out. With a great food selection, strong ST attendance, and plenty of enthusiasm throughout the house, we can look back on a highly successful Buddy Week. The hard work put in during the previous semester has truly paid off, and throughout the autumn we have delivered strong results compared to both 2022 and 2024. A lot has also happened around the house. The pergola has reached a temporarily completed state, although it has unfortunately caused some challenges for the Sound and Lighting Committee. After a couple of rainy days, some equipment suffered water damage. Fortunately, much of it could be saved, but not everything was so lucky. Nevertheless, the Sound and Lighting Committee has continued to explore new solutions, including livestreaming Graskurs Part 2 during Buddy Week. This was an exciting project that provided us with valuable experience, and we would like to extend a big thank you to both the KSs and NMBU's IT Department for helping make it possible. Side 8 av 80
The Bodega Division has also had a good semester. The Food Committee has grown, the KS Carpenter position has finally been filled, and we have seen a welcome increase in ST attendance. In collaboration with NMBU, we have also cleared out a considerable amount of old furniture from the house. Staffing the OV shifts remains a challenge, but it is encouraging to see so many people wanting to contribute to the operations of Samfunnet i Ås. The Marketing Division has delivered an excellent semester, with popular semester posters and a merchandise launch that was a huge hit. The T-shirts sold out quickly, maybe it would be fun to see some more next semester? We have also recruited a KS App, who has been working on developing the Samfunnet i Ås app. Both the app and additional merchandise are planned for release in the new year. The Events Division has certainly not been resting on its laurels either. Despite the limitations we have faced without Aud Max, they have continued to deliver attractive events and new experiences. Silent disco during Buddy Week was a great success, and perhaps even more impressively, not a single headset went missing! Planning for next semester is already well underway, and we are looking forward to both the Sprell Festival and everything else they have up their sleeves. Recruitment this autumn has also been successful. We have welcomed both new members and many new volunteers, giving several committees a much-needed boost. It is incredibly rewarding to see so many people eager to get involved at Samfunnet
i Ås, and we hope to carry this enthusiasm into the next semester. In the midst of all this, we also had UKA, which took over the operations of the house for a period. Although this gave some of us a much-needed break from our usual responsibilities, plenty of Board members found themselves with other tasks to tackle during UKA. We also managed to fit in a VIP Weekend, where we had the opportunity to strengthen our relationships and spend time with good friends. With great attendance and a thoroughly enjoyable weekend behind us, we can confidently say that our friendships remain strong, and we are already looking forward to the next gathering. Looking ahead to future developments at the house, we have met with NMBU to discuss a new assessment of the building's fire safety occupancy capacity. We have agreed to involve COWI, NMBU's framework agreement supplier, in this process. We hope this will provide us with better opportunities to make full use of the house's capacity in the future. At the same time, we have been working to lay the groundwork for next semester, both in terms of events, daily operations, and recruitment for upcoming positions. There are many exciting things in the works, and we have high hopes for what lies ahead. All in all, this has been a semester we can be very proud of. Despite still being without Aud Max, we have shown that Samfunnet i Ås can provide a fantastic experience for the students of Ås. Of Side 9 av 80
course, none of this would have been possible without all the KSs, KMs, STs, and other volunteers who dedicate countless hours to keeping the house running. A huge thank you to everyone who has contributed this autumn. We look forward to what comes next!

Report from Head of Administration Mathilde Buttedahl Honourable General Assembly! The Administration Block autumn 2026: Administration Assistant: Sofia Buddeberg HR Manager: Signy Tangen Heads of Personnel: Wilma Norenberg og Leon Strømsvaag Head of Linticket (avtroppende): Lotte Baklund Engnes (Tuva Kullvik) Head of IT: August Grimssønn Stallvik Head of HSE: Ludo Van Der Lee Head of Billetto: Sebastian Bræin Aaen Head of Roombooking: Maja Tveito Frostad Committee members: Linticket: Annveig Foss og Jone Lerstøl Since the last GF, incoming KS Linticket, Lotte, has properly settled into her role and has now fully taken over following UKA i Ås. In addition, Maja has become Head of the Roombooking committee instead of being one of two committee members. August has also taken over from Sebastian as Head of IT. The Administration Block’s Work This Autumn: Administrative Assistant Sofia keeps track of the volunteers at Studentsamfunnet and handles all contracts, which has been an especially demanding task with the recruitment of operational volunteers
ahead of UKA i Ås. She is also responsible for communication with NMBU regarding card access, ensuring that as many access needs as possible are met! Sofia is doing an incredible job and is an important source of support for me and the block. The Personnel Managers, Wilma and Leon, answer questions about membership and handle the logistics surrounding the assignment of community services and changes to them. Due to UKA i Ås, their workload has been lighter in October and during UKEvakuum — a well-deserved break after an extremely busy August! Signy has continued her excellent work as HR Manager and has been a reliable point of contact for the volunteers at the house, also during UKA i Ås! She has held KSforum, KS-workshop and KM-workshop, in addition to contributing and stepping in wherever needed. Signy is an important part of Studentsamfunnet i Ås, and we could not do without her. The Linticket Committee has continued its tireless work to ensure that all events and tickets for Samfunnet i Ås and UKA i Ås have been in order for our members and other guests. Lotte has had an overlap period with Tuva as Head of Linticket through October and receives assistance from her two committee members, Annveig and Jone, in her work. This is yet another operational committee in the Administration Block. Their work is essential to keeping Studentsamfunnet running and ensuring that Linticket remains user-friendly (to the extent that this is possible;)).
Side 11 av 80
Our Head of HSE, Ludo, is working to map out good and bad HSE practices in connection with the day-to-day operation of the house. He also assists the committees with their HSE work. His efforts will help ensure that volunteers can feel safe while working.
appreciate that so many people want to get involved in volunteering at Studentsamfunnet, and we are impressed by everything the volunteers accomplish. It is their passionate commitment that makes it possible for us to achieve what we do, semester after semester.
Sebastian, KS Billetto, has made a tremendous effort to investigate an alternative to Linticket. However, after almost two years of work, he has concluded that Billetto is not a viable option for Samfunnet i Ås. I would like to thank Sebastian for all the effort he has put in and for the great collaboration!
Thank You!
August took over as Head of IT over the summer and has been extremely helpful with all the questions and problems that come his way. Head of IT is also an operational position, so there has been quite a bit to do in the lead-up to and during UKA i Ås. Among other things, he works to keep the organisation’s email groups up to date and is a tremendous resource! Our “new” Head of Roombooking, Maja, is responsible for all communication related to room bookings. She holds room allocation meetings with all the associations and organisations that use the house. Roombooking’s tasks were put on hold in October due to UKA i Ås, but the next room booking meeting has been scheduled, and bookings for the spring are beginning to take shape! Membership Numbers As of 23.10.2026, Samfunnet i Ås has 2471 members, of whom 197 are international members. We in Samfunnsstyret
Dear Admin Block, thank you so much for all the work you do! You have made being Head of Admin an absolute breeze, and I am so proud of everything you accomplish. The work you put in is important, and there really is a lot of it! I hope you know how much your efforts matter, even if they are not always very visible to Thorvald and Tora. Thank you for being such a great source of support throughout this year! I would also like to thank Samfunnsstyret for this past year. I am incredibly happy that it was us who got to serve on the board together, because you have been absolutely essential in making this year as great as it has been. Wow, look at everything we have accomplished! A toast to all of you. Finally, I would like to thank everyone for the trust you placed in me at last year’s General Assembly. This year has given me experiences that I will carry with me for the rest of my life! I may not have fully known what I was getting myself into, but if I managed to do it, anyone can. So, if you are wondering whether you should run for a position at GF — do it! You won’t regret it!

Financial results for the first half of 2026 The accounts for the first half of 2026 show a surplus of approximately NOK 426 000, which is an excellent result. Although we are feeling the effects of being without Aud.Max., we have sold 2400 more tickets than in 2024. Nevertheless, ticket revenue has fallen by NOK 120 000. Our guests are drinking less and less, so bar sales have only increased by NOK 60 000. The main reasons for this strong financial result are
cost control and a NOK 225 000 reduction in the cost of the catering agreement. Financial update for autumn 2026 Before UKA began, Samfunnet held a large and highly successful Buddy Week, featuring both a Semester Kickoff and a Buddy Week concert. Every party night from Buddy Week up until UKA sold out! Our operations are affected by having to work with buildings that are ill-suited to our needs and demanding to run. Ticket revenue also reflects the fact that almost all tickets sold are for party nights or Bodega admission. Nevertheless, we have sold a total of 7200 tickets, compared with 5100 in 2024. This is something every KM and KS at Samfunnet should be proud of. The work of the Finance Team Finance Assistant The Finance Assistant is responsible for purchasing for Samfunnet and invoicing for Studentsamfunnet (NU, UKA, TT and Samfunnet). Jørg makes sure that companies are invoiced for the correct amounts and that they actually pay after events such as Career Day. For these events, he issues invoices on behalf of Studentsamfunnet totalling several million kroner. This is a very important job, which Jørg has taken very seriously over the past six months. Thank you for your hard work. Accounting The Accounting Committee has welcomed two new Committee Heads, which we are very pleased about. The autumn involves a great deal of sharing experience and knowledge. With high levels of activity across all parts of Studentsamfunnet, this Side 14 av 80
team is doing an outstanding job of keeping the accounts in order. Having such capable people to discuss things with is invaluable, and for the first time in at least two years, our half-year accounts have been approved by our accountant. This is a very positive development.
excellent job, and I hope you enjoy your time in the role to the fullest!
Carbon Accounting & Eco-Lighthouse The Carbon Accounting Committee has maintained our Eco-Lighthouse certification for another year. Over the past six months, Rebecca Heyens and her committee have also made the committee’s work more efficient, so that tasks which previously required one KS and ten KMs now require one KS and five KMs. Rebecca has now decided to step down. Silje and I look forward to working with the new KS for Carbon Accounting, Amalie Berntsen. Finally, I would like to thank Rebecca Heyens for her patience and our excellent collaboration and wish Amalie the best of luck in her new role. With that, I, Ola, would like to thank you for your trust and for the opportunity to work for you and Studentsamfunnet i Ås. At times, this has been very challenging, but it has also been exciting and educational. I have gained experiences that I would not have wanted to miss. I would also like to thank the entire Finance Block, whose efforts have made it easy to serve in this role. I truly could not have done this without you! Finally, I would like to wish our very capable incoming Head of Finance, Silje, the best of luck in the year ahead. I have every confidence that you will do an

Report from Head of Bodega Snorre Langeland Moberg Dear general assembly! The Bodega Block 2026 Festkoordinator: Altin Shala Overkonserndirektør: Tuva Kristiansen Ordensvern personal: Markus Bjørberg Ordensvern teknisk: Ingrid Lamark Påtroppende ordensvern teknisk: Marthe Heggø Bar Personal: Tonje Holberg Rokstad Bar teknisk: Radoslaw Dworak Mat: Raymond Bjørgen Inngang: Sofie Thorbjørnsen Påtroppende Inngang: Marie FjellbakkEdfeldt Snekker: Eivind Madsøn Klubben: Atavan Sivashankar The Committees It has been an eventful year for the committees, which in several ways have had to adapt to a new everyday reality. Bodegakonsernet and Ordensvern have, despite limited capacity, managed to adapt to a life without Aud.Max. This proved to require more staffing than initially anticipated, but the committees have nevertheless managed to keep things running and ensure that the parties have been carried out in a good manner. The entrance committee has largely had the opportunity to try something new, with a new and more limited entrance
area. We have also gained valuable experience with wardrobetent, which proved to be absolutely necessary throughout the winter. The food committee provided a popular offering throughout the spring, despite having few members. With strong recruitment during the buddy week, there are now good opportunities for the committee to build on this going into the coming year. Bar has taken up the fight against sour beer and provided a broad selection of refreshments on parties. There has been good work both on the offering and the operations, and the committee has been an important part of the party experience throughout the year. It has been a challenging year for the carpentry committee, with changes in membership and the loss of our carpentry cellar. A new KS is now in place, and we are hopeful that the committee will settle into its new reality and move towards a brighter future. Klubben is as popular as ever, and has recruited many young and promising members through its coffee campaign. Many new committee members have also been appointed, and we believe they will contribute well to the continued development of Cafe Klubben. Party management Party management has throughout the year been characterized by the effort to maintain a good offering without Aud.Max. We have had more rooms open during parties, and have consequently Side 17 av 80
managed to have more guests at the house than we did the previous spring without UKA. In the spring of 2026, we unfortunately saw an enormous drop in attendance at Samfunnstjenester. After the buddy week, this has turned around significantly, and we are now experiencing more people attending Samfunnstjenester than ever before. It is very encouraging to see the engagement picking up again, and this provides a strong foundation for the work ahead. The Building The renovation of the rooftop terrace above Halvors has been completed, and the room should now be free from leaks. New slate and the pergola are planned to be put in place sometime next year, and we hope this will give the area an even better appearance and make it more useful. KS Husprosjekt has developed a plan for a cozier and better Johannes. The plan has been approved by our partners, and the improvements will take place gradually, starting immediately. This is a project we have great faith in, and which will hopefully make Johannes an even nicer place to spend time. NMBU has also installed AV equipment in several rooms in the house, allowing them to be used for teaching. The equipment was, among other things, used to make it possible for more people to watch “Graskurs del II” during the buddy week. In many ways, this was a successful trial, and it shows that the house can be used flexibly even when Aud.Max is unavailable.
In consultation with NMBU, we have also cleared out some of the furniture in the house. Many pieces of furniture that did not fit the intended use or character of the rooms have been removed. Hopefully, this will make the house both more functional and more pleasant for those who use it. Aud.Max Aud.Max has been closed since New Year, and construction is now well underway. The contractor hopes to be finished before the end of 2027. Although the absence of Aud.Max has presented a number of challenges, this year has also shown that Samfunnet i Ås is capable of adapting and finding new solutions when necessary. Thank You! Finally, I would like to extend a great and heartfelt thank you to all the committee members in the bodega block for the effort you have put in throughout the year. It has been a year of many changes, new challenges, and, at times, demanding circumstances. Nevertheless, you have shown up, solved problems, and ensured that Bodegaen remains the place we want it to be. It is easy to take for granted that the house is ready when the party begins, that the food is served, that the bar is open, that the entrance works, and that someone is there to look after things when the night gets long. But behind all of this are countless hours of work from people who do it because they care about Samfunnet. Thank you so much for showing up. Thank you for taking responsibility. And thank
Side 18 av 80
you for helping make Samfunnet i Ås the wonderful place it is, every single day. It has been an honour to be your Bodegasjef!

Report from Head of Events Sunniva McNamara Hundere and Lisa Vo Honorable General Assembly! Eventsblock Spring 2026 Eventsassistant: Edith Lisa Norheim Concert assistant: Patrycja Kaminska Activity and Current Affairs: Ragnhild Bråten Sound technical: Per Norendal Sound personell: Lea Kanike Incomming sound personell: Lea Kanike Lightting technical: Sander Nygaard Lighting personell: Lourdes Meireles Johansen Revue: Liv Elise Slang Disco: David Hammer Incomming Disco: Wiktor CorreiaMyrhagen Artist and Booking: Emma Kruge Storvand and Emil Fjeld Another semester has flown by, and it is odd to think about everything we have achieved. The events block is continuously working to improve and create new activities that we hope will please as many students as possible. The comitees The events part of the block continues to test offers, and increasing use of rooms during various events. We have gotten good feedback on events that include
silent disco as an activity during party nights. And we notice that activities such as this draw people to rooms that otherwise are not used as much or are not as visible. Also, we have not lost one single headset, thanks to a great solution of “one-way-entrence” and extremely clever committee members from the Events committee. The concert part of the block works hard to give you unique concerts in Festsalen. We have experienced success with double concerts, and think that it’s a great alternative solution since we, temporarily, cannot not use our dear Aud Max. In addition, we are well on our way to tidying the costumeroom, so hopefully that will be done by the time we start organizing revues again. The concert part of the block have included new committee chiefs, who are engaged, new thinking and it will be good to see what they bring to the table. Still, we have a critically low committee members in our lights committee. They are continuously doing their best to provide you with the best possible experience within their available capacity. Therefore, we must continue to limit the number of events that require the lighting committee. The autumn so far We have started the autumn semester with a bang, starting with Buddyweek. During these two weeks we have had four events at Samfunnet, two successful Bodegaer, one sold out concert, and a successful Graskurs part 1 and 2. All four events included renting Silent disco equipment, which was very popular. The Side 20 av 80
buddyweek concert was the first time in five years that we have managed to book a female artist. Other popular events that we had this semester are “Semesterkickoff”, “examparty” and “Samfunnet Grand Prix”. “Semesterkickoff” was, similarly to the buddy-week concert, sold out. New events we tested were “Student101” and “Winetasting”. The first event was made for the new students in Ås, as a small guide to our Ås culture. The second event was added because we noticed how popular the “cheese-testing event” was during the spring semester. We also have a few weeks with themed events such as “From allodial rights to noble” and “Ås Unplugged”. The first theme contains events such as “Masquerade ball” which is a new event. This is something we are really excited about and multiple committees in the Events block have worked really hard to create a fun and interesting week. The other theme includes events that promote and invite music lovers amongst students. The spring so far We have already started planning the program for next semester, and we are excited to show you our program. The whole block is working super hard to create a unique and varied semesterprogram. Next semester we are going to introduce more activities that we know are going to be popular. We will also continue to build on the experience we have gained throughout the spring and autumn of 2026 to further improve our
program planning, ensuring that you get an excellent semester program. Next semester, “Sprellfestivalen” will be our main project, and is something that the whole block has looked forward to planning. After a calm and quiet autumn semester we cannot wait to provide you with loads of new activities, new events and good vibes. We also want to mention that we have completed the new revue schedule. Alongside the revue committee chief we have completed the revue schedule for 2027/2028, and it will be interesting to see what the student associations put together. Thanks! Lastly, I would like to thank the wonderful Events block. We have loads of highly skilled committee members, as well as committee chiefs, that work day and night to provide you with amazing activities during our events. It is you who give the events their content, and you are responsible for the experiences that our guests take away with them. From decorating the venue, being responsible for activities such as silent disco and karaoke, creating amazing light shows, providing sound for concerts and shows, mixing and creating a great atmosphere in Halvors, booking artists for concerts, organizing quizzes, and helping make the revues as good as possible. I also would like to give a shoutout to all the skilled committee chiefs in the Events block! You guys are highly talented and dedicated to your committee. A lot has happened since 2026 began, including the lack of committee members, to not being Side 21 av 80
able to use Aud Max anymore, and some of you are really affected by this. I am so proud of everything you guys achieve, and your commitment to your roles. I am so incredibly grateful to have had the opportunity to be your block chief. My time as Events chief has taught me a lot about each of your committees, and I am so impressed with everything that you guys do. Thank you so much! It has been an honor to be your Events chief.

Report from Head of Marketing Telle Bratås Honourable General Assembly! The Marketing Block, Autumn 2026 Marketing Assistant: Sara Nielsen KS Photo: Oliver Tschudi Madsen (incoming) & Mathilde Bjørnås (outgoing) KS Film: Nicolai Lütken Terland KS Film Editing: Nicolai Lütken Terland KS Web: Jørgen Asmundvaag Head of Recruitment: Solveig Blom KS Design & Layout: My Scott Hagen and Susanne Helene Josefsen KS House Project: Ingunn Reimers KS App: Marte Tangen It has been a quieter semester for the block due to UKA taking place this semester, but that does not mean the quality of our work has been any lower. The standard remains exceptionally high, and I am incredibly impressed by what has been delivered. In connection with UKA, there has been quite a bit of communication and collaboration with their Head of Marketing. We have made room for each other and ensured that both parties' interests were taken into account, both in terms of events and volunteer recruitment. I hope everyone who volunteered during UKA in Ås had a great experience, and that you are eager to carry that joy of volunteering forward and join us here at Samfunnet. Since the spring General Assembly, we have welcomed an exciting new addition to the block that I believe many will
appreciate. KS App has made a great start on developing a dedicated app for Samfunnet. We looked at the UKA app and what they had achieved with it, and wanted to make something similar available to Samfunnet as well. Soon this will be a service that visitors to Samfunnet can make use of! We have continued to feel the absence of Aud Max, but this semester we were much better prepared to deal with it than we were last semester. Despite some challenges associated with its absence, Samfunnet has demonstrated a great ability to adapt, and we have seen plenty of engagement from both volunteers and visitors. Together, we have managed to find good solutions and create attractive offerings within the limitations we have faced. There have also been very few misunderstandings surrounding our events, which is a testament to clear and effective communication. Our biggest initiative this autumn has been the much-talked-about merch launch, which proved incredibly popular! The response to Vårt annet hjem (Our Other Home), as the collection was named, has exceeded all expectations, and we have received overwhelmingly positive feedback. From the very beginning, the idea was to create something that represented Samfunnet in a new and exciting way, and we can confidently say that we have succeeded. In addition to the designs, the materials were carefully selected, and we found great products made from 100% cotton. Our talented KSs and KMs created some seriously cool products that appealed to a wide range of Side 23 av 80
students. It is still a joy to see students around Ås wearing Samfunnet merch!
A heartfelt thank you from a humble Trønder!
There was a shared agreement within the board that we wanted to make a major effort ahead of the buddy week, and the Marketing Block's contribution was to share information in a way that would make it easy and comfortable for new students to visit the building for the first time. A wide variety of content was published on social media, SAMF101 was introduced across numerous courses and during orientation days, and hundreds of new students stopped by for tours of Samfunnet. People arrived well prepared for our party nights, and we witnessed a packed house night after night. The impressive turnout shows that Samfunnet continues to be a central meeting place for students and that there is considerable interest in our activities. None of this would have been possible without the people behind it all. I would therefore like to conclude by expressing my heartfelt gratitude to this wonderful and talented Marketing Block. Thank you for delivering high-quality work week after week, month after month. Thank you for dedicating your time to volunteering and, on top of that, delivering at the level you do. I could not be prouder. Thank you so much for all the hard work and dedication you have put in. Finally, I would like to thank you for the trust you placed in me at last autumn's General Assembly, and for all the wonderful memories and experiences I will carry with me from this past year. It has been a privilege to serve as your Head of Marketing. Side 24 av 80

Board Activities in 2026 The Housing and Finance Board held two meetings in spring 2026 and, so far, two meetings in autumn 2026. In addition, Jordfagseminaret was held on two occasions. The meetings primarily focused on rehabilitation projects, long-term development of Studentsamfunnet, financial management, and organisational development.
Side 25 av 80
Operations Without Aud. Max. The most important issue during the year has been how Studentsamfunnet can maintain strong operations while Aud. Max. is closed for rehabilitation. The board has reviewed experiences relating to events, capacity, finances, and volunteer engagement. The board has decided that an external consulting firm will prepare a report assessing the building’s capacity and proposing measures to increase capacity. Property and Development Projects The board has considered several matters related to the development and maintenance of Studentsamfunnet’s buildings. Work on Aud. Max. has been central, alongside the rehabilitation of Halvors Hybel and Pergolaen, as well as acoustic improvements to Festsalen. Jordfagseminaret Jordfagseminaret brought together representatives from all Studentsamfunnet bodies to discuss organisational development. A key topic was whether external representatives should be appointed or nominated, and how many such positions should exist on the board. The discussions were later followed up through a survey in Tuntreet. Strategy and Organisational Development The board also worked on implementing the long-term strategy, evaluating the General Assembly, and ensuring that the Housing and Finance Board remains visible and relevant to the membership. Finance and Investments The financial position remains largely unchanged. Operating costs from NMBU and SiÅs are stable. We continue to depreciate assets and property while covering insurance, audit services, and General Assembly costs. The major change in 2026 has been the transition to a new accounting system and the establishment of cooperation with ECIT. Closing Remarks The Housing and Finance Board would like to thank all volunteers, elected representatives, and employees who contribute to the continued development of Studentsamfunnet. 5.3 UKA i Ås Honourable General Assembly! The UKE Board in autumn 2026 consists of: Marlene Zimmermann, UKE Director Hermine Halvorsen, Head of Events August Gjerdrum, Head of Operations Ingrid Marie Simpson, Head of Festivities Astor Ness, Head of Marketing Irene Karlsen, Head of Revue Erlend Okkenhaug, Head of Serving Sigurd Sve, Head of Finance UKA i Ås 2026 has now come to an end. It has been a true pleasure to organise a festival for all you fantastic students. UKA i Ås 2026 has in many ways been an extraordinary festival. With Aud.Max. closed for renovation, we have had to think outside the box, challenge old traditions, and find alternative solutions to problems that previous UKE organisations have not faced. It has been both challenging and educational, but above all, it has shown us just how much can be achieved when dedicated students work together towards a common goal. One of the biggest challenges this year has been finding a replacement for Aud.Max. After extensive planning, evaluating different alternatives, and collaborating with external partners, we ended up setting up a 2,000-squaremetre festival tent at Lillebrand. This has allowed us to continue offering the large concert experiences that UKA i Ås is known for, despite our usual concert venue being unavailable. The project has required a great deal of work across the different departments, and we are incredibly proud of what we have achieved. The Events Department has worked tirelessly to put together a varied UKE programme with something for everyone. With major concert acts, traditional events, and new concepts, the goal has been to create memorable experiences for both Thorvald and Tora. The work has also involved challenges related to booking, logistics, and technical production, particularly due to the new concert venue. Through close cooperation between external technicians and our own volunteers, we have nevertheless been able to facilitate great concert experiences throughout this year's festival.
Side 27 av 80
The Operations and Festivities Departments have also had an extensive task in preparing Samfunnet and the festival grounds for this year's UKA. With less available space, new safety considerations, and major logistical challenges, it has been necessary to find alternative solutions to both familiar and new problems. At the same time, it has been important for us to preserve the unique UKE spirit and the traditions that make UKA i Ås so special. Sløyfa has once again been a central part of the festival, and we would like to extend a particularly big thank you to all student associations and societies that have dedicated countless volunteer hours to building and operating their bars. The Operations Department has worked throughout the entire period to ensure that the organisation functions as smoothly as possible. Recruiting and following up more than 1,000 volunteers has been an extensive task, and through six recruitment rounds, we have built the organisation that has made the festival possible. Staffing, internal communication, and coordination have been particularly important this year, as the new solutions have created an even greater need for cooperation across the organisation. The Marketing Department has worked to generate enthusiasm for UKA i Ås 2026, both within the organisation and among the public. Through ticket releases, branding, content production, and various marketing initiatives, they have helped build anticipation for this year's festival. It has been especially important to communicate the major changes that this year's UKA has brought, while also showing that UKA i Ås remains the festival we all know and love. The Revue Department has also faced a particularly unique challenge. For the first time since 1931, the UKE Revue has been performed outside NMBU's property. This year's revue, "ÅStedet, der alt kan skje", has therefore marked a new chapter in the history of the UKE Revue. Adapting both the production and the performances to a new venue has required considerable effort and creativity. We are incredibly proud of the work carried out by the actors, band, technicians, and all the other volunteers who have contributed to this year's revue. Financially, UKA i Ås 2026 has also been a demanding project. The alternative solutions for the concert venue and infrastructure have resulted in significant additional costs, and the Finance Department has therefore played an important role in ensuring a sound financial foundation for the festival. Through close monitoring of budgets, costs, and revenues, we have worked to organise the best possible festival within the financial framework available to us. Finally, we would like to extend an enormous thank you to all the volunteers who have dedicated their time, energy, and enthusiasm to UKA i Ås 2026. It is difficult to describe just how much work goes into a festival of this size, and we are incredibly impressed by the efforts made at every level of the organisation. Many have dedicated a significant part of their student years to creating experiences for others, and it is precisely this dedication that makes UKA i Ås so unique. Side 28 av 80

The Business Committee at NMBU has had an eventful spring and autumn, with several exciting, educational and new events. We have got to know the members elected in the spring, and they have slipped right into NU’s work. We look forward to the new year and already have exciting plans ahead. Career Day This autumn’s Career Day was once again a great success. 82 companies attended, 81 of them paying, and there was a steady stream of students all day. The event ran smoothly, and we have received good feedback since. This year’s edition had some challenges related to the use of the Multiconsult tent, but this went very well. We made full use of the space inside the tent and filled it with as many companies as there was room for. Golden tickets were handed out, and the banquet was a success.

Marketing NU works continuously to become more visible to students. Along the way we set interim goals to grow our follower count and event attendance, and we have reached them. It is just as important for us to become more visible to the business community and to show why NMBU has the best students. We do this mainly through Career Day, company presentations and Career Evening. We have also received many requests from companies about marketing on social media. Other Events and Activities This spring we held several successful events. As usual, we had visits from former students and organised Ås-så videre. We also ran a LinkedIn course that was very well attended. Career Evening this spring and the Career Day banquet this autumn were both a great success. Administration NU is working actively to strengthen cooperation with the student associations at NMBU, partly to make relevant companies more visible. There is a lot going on around campus, with stands from various student organisations and companies, which helps build student engagement. The Career Fund The Career Fund consists of 15% of the surplus from the career days, and the surplus from 2025 is awarded in 2026. So far this year there have been 2 rounds of awards, with a total of NOK 200,000 awarded. The final deadline this year is 20 November. You can find the application portal, the guidelines and past awards under ‘Karrierefondet’ at www.nunmbu.no. Sponsorship The sponsorship team has worked steadily to set up partnerships with the bodies within Samfunnet. New sponsors have been secured for UKA and Samfunnet, and earlier sponsorship agreements have been renewed. We have also worked on better routines and structure for finding sponsors for Studentsamfunnet i Ås. We would like to thank all our KS sponsors! •

The Editorial Staff After each summer the editorial staff undergoes significant changes, with many members completing their studies or deciding to pursue other things. This autumn, was filled with recruitment, which was over quickly with consistent interest from new students. The editorial staff has grown to approximately 70 members, including the editors, committee heads, committee members, and freelancers. Our members work in areas such as journalism, proofreading, photography, illustration, distribution, translation, and podcasting. It is worth noting that Tuntréet offers everyone the chance to gain new experiences, as long as there are available positions. For those on part of the staff, the newspaper is a place to develop new skills and meet like-minded people. Economy and Sustainability Over the course of a year, Tuntréet publishes ten editions, with 100–150 English copies and 700–800 Norwegian copies per edition. All these are also published on our website, tuntreet.org, where individual and web-exclusive cases are shared as well. The print run may vary slightly throughout the semester, depending on the demand for the physical copies. Since Tuntréet is a paper free for all, our only indicator of demand is the number of copies left remaining on the distribution racks. Lowering the amount of copies following the demand is beneficial both in terms of climate impact and cost-efficiency.
Side 33 av 80
Tuntréet has two primary sources of revenue with the largest being the financial support from NMBU, followed by advertisement sales. Printing costs are high, as the price of paper increases exponentially each year. A key objective for the newspaper is to minimize these costs, a task that has become increasingly challenging. The return requirement set by the Housing and Finace Board remains zero, which is entirely achievable both this year and next, also allowing for greater flexibility in covering expenses related to social and professional development. A Thank You The collective effort of the entire editorial team makes Tuntréet possible; without them, the students at NMBU would not have a student paper. Producing an innovative, content-rich, 52-page newspaper ten times a year requires an immense amount of work and talent. With that, Tuntréet would not be possible without the readers who pick up copies every three weeks. We neither would not have succeeded without support from NMBU, Housing and Finance Board, and our various partners. Therefore, I would like to extend a huge thank you to everyone who contributes to Tuntréet.
On behalf of Tuntréet, Henrikke Emilia Ellewsen Editor-In-Chief of autumn 2026

The General Assembly takes note of the matter.
Case 6 Strategy for Studentsamfunnet i Ås The Board of House and Finance has conducted a comprehensive assessment of the strategy, particularly in relation to the current action plan and how far we are from achieving the quantified long-term goals. The Board of House and Finance is not proposing any changes to the Long-Term Strategy or Overall Objectives goals at this time, but will work to improve the data available from day-to-day operations going forward. This will make it easier to assess our progress, better enable us to achieve the goals as they currently stand, and revise them where they may prove unrealistic.

6.c Approval of the Work Program for 2027 The Studentsamfunnet i Ås Work Programme is a short-term action plan based on the longterm strategy adopted at the General Assembly in autumn 2024. The Work Programme is revised annually and serves to provide a concrete direction for the priorities to be made in the coming year. The proposed Work Programme for 2027 has been developed on the basis of the long-term strategy adopted in autumn 2022. The Work Programme functions as a tool to ensure that the organisation and operations of the Studentsamfunnet are in line with the adopted longterm goals. •
Goals achieved during 2026 that do not require further follow-up have been removed from the Work Programme, and is markeds with purple.
•
Goals that have been achieved but are still considered relevant have been revised and carried forward into the Work Programme for 2027, and is marked yellow.
•
New goals that the Studentsamfunnet aims to achieve during 2027 have been added, and is marked green.
See Appendix 1 for the Studentsamfunnet Work Programme for 2027, Appendix 2 for the Work Programme for 2026, and Appendix 3 for the Long-term strategy.

Case 7 Approval of budgets for Studentsamfunnet i Ås for next year The Board of House of Finance
Comments on the Budget for the Board of House and Finance: VAT compensation for voluntary organizations is our only fixed source of income; as the exact amount is uncertain, we have chosen to budget a lower figure than in previous payouts. We anticipate an increase in operating costs charged by SiÅs and NMBU, driven in part by energy and water expenses. We are continuing to increase allocations to the Operations and Maintenance Committee (DVU), with the hope that NMBU will also contribute more toward maintenance and capital investments for the building. We have separated event-related expenses from the “Other operating costs” category to provide greater transparency regarding the costs of holding two general assemblies, as well as two seminars for the boards.

The Board of Samfunnet
Comments on the Budget for the Board of Samfunnet Income is expected to increase slightly, particularly from bar sales, ticket sales, and sponsorship revenue. This reflects our ambition for continued growth and an increase in membership numbers. At the same time, several expense categories have been increased in order to maintain a high level of activity and invest further in our volunteer community. This includes higher allocations for artists, events, social support, and training programs. Overall, the budget is well balanced and supports both the efficient operation and continued development of Samfunnet, while maintaining a healthy financial position.

Studentsamfunnet as a whole
Internal return requirements for each board/department are set by the House and Finance Board. In the budget, the Student Society Board (Samfunnsstyret) targets a 12% margin, the Business Committee (Næringslivsutvalget) 85%, and Tuntreet 0%. Ringfeste iis also part of the Student Society’s finances; however, as it is required to break even (0% result) and its budget has not yet been finalized, these figures are not included in the overview. UKA engages in financial activity even outside of UKA festival years, but it is treated as a project presented as a consolidated budget. The House and Finance Board does not have a defined return requirement; instead, it covers costs related to the operation of the building and allocates funds based on applications. Given our intended level of ambition, we anticipate a negative operating result in 2027 (-6.5%); however, after accounting for financial income, the final result will be positive (+4%). We consider this acceptable for a year in which the UKAfestival does not take place. If we succeed in further accelerating the pace of investment and maintenance, we will likely not have surplus cash reserves, meaning financial income will decrease or disappear entirely. This underscores the necessity of stable income from operations.
Proposed resolution: The General Assembly accepts the budgets for 2027.

8.2 Change of Articles of Association submitted by the UKEboard Justification: The position of Group Director became an operational role within UKA i Ås in 2022. As the Bodega Group is responsible for the practical implementation of UKA's events, the Group Director plays a central role in the planning and execution of the festival. The position is part of the UKE organisation, and decisions made by the Group Director directly affect UKA's operations and event management. It is therefore natural that the UKE Board is involved in the appointment of the Group Director, on equal terms with other operational committee head positions.
Existing: § 2.4 BODEGAKONSERNET - THE BODEGA GROUP The Bodega Group is responsible for the practical implementation of events delegated by The Board of Samfunnet. The Group Director is the leader of the Bodega Group. The former Group Director and the Board of Samfunnet appoint the Group Director for a one-year period. The remaining members of The Bodega Group are employed in cooperation between the Group Director and the Board of Samfunnet.
Suggestion for change: § 2.4 BODEGAKONSERNET - THE BODEGA GROUP The Bodega Group is responsible for the practical implementation of events delegated by The Board of Samfunnet. The Group Director is the leader of the Bodega Group. The former Group Director, the Board of Samfunnet, and Board of UKA appoint the Group Director for a one-year period. Side 44 av 80
8.3 Change of Articles of Association submitted by the Board of House and Finance Background: Hus- og Finansstyret (HF) has historically consisted of members of the Board of Samfunnet and external members, often former students of the Agricultural University of Norway (NLH). In 1964, for example, it consisted of the deputy leader of the Board of Samfunnet and two external members, each elected for four years at a time. HF has traditionally been responsible for major financial matters, building projects, other types of investments, and accounts. It was HF's role to ensure that the returns from operations went towards maintaining the building, so that future generations of students could continue to enjoy Samfunnsbygningen and Studentsamfunnet i Ås. In 2011 it was decided to change the structure to what was then called Kjernestyret (the Core Board). After some revisions, the structure eventually became: 3 external representatives (non-students), the leaders of the 4 bodies (Samfunnet, UKA, TT and NU), and one independent student representative. 8 in total. As part of an organisational review by the commission Pluto 6, appointed by Kjernestyret, the General Assembly (GA) decided in spring 2020 to increase the number of external representatives by one regular external representative and one appointed external representative. The latter was to be proposed by the board and approved by the GA. The appointed external representative was proposed to ensure predictability on the board and to cover particular expertise when the board needed it. Internally, it was also pointed out that the arrangement makes the board less vulnerable to popularity contests and ensures that knowledge stays within the board. At the same time, it was proposed to return to the name Hus- og Finansstyret. The appointed representative is appointed by HF and approved by the GA. This is the model Studentsamfunnet has today, with ten members: five external members and five students. The board constitutes itself, but according to the Articles of Association the chair and deputy chair must be among the members who are not students (§ 4.1.7). Over the past year, HF has spent a great deal of time assessing the board structure, particularly the arrangement with external representatives. The matter has been raised at the Jordfag seminar (Jordfag), a seminar for HF and the other boards of Studentsamfunnet (Samfunnet, UKA, NU and TT). At Jordfag in January 2026 there was agreement to review the arrangement. At its board meeting in April, HF set up a working group consisting of external representative Tord and student representative Magnus, tasked with assessing the structure more thoroughly, gathering input and preparing a proposal to the GA on behalf of HF.
Side 45 av 80
Changing the composition of the body that holds supreme authority between General Assemblies is a significant matter of principle. The working group has therefore emphasised a broad democratic process, so that the proposal is well grounded when it comes before the GA. The working group held several meetings over the summer and presented its work at Jordfag in August, so that all the boards could give feedback on the most important questions. To reach the members, the working group wrote an article in TT06 with a link to a survey, where everyone could give their opinion until 8 October. At Jordfag in August there was a clear majority in favour of increasing from one to two appointed external representatives while reducing from four to three elected, as in Proposal 1 below. In an anonymous vote, 20 of 21 participants supported this. There was also a majority in favour of the appointed representatives being approved on an alternating basis, one each year for two years at a time. The arguments for appointment were that HF then retains the expertise the board has recruited, whereas elections open the door to rival candidates and allow the “face factor” to come into play. At the same time, it was pointed out that there is value in the majority of the external representatives standing for election at the GA, and that elections make room for new, engaged candidates. Unfortunately, the survey received only three responses, all from current or former volunteers. All three wanted three appointed and two elected external representatives, as in Proposal 2 below. Their reasons were that few students know HF well enough to make an informed choice, that the “face factor” often influences elections, and that professional weight and continuity are important. On the question “To what extent do you feel that the current election format ensures that the most suitable candidates are elected as external representatives?” the average was 2.3 on a scale from 1 (“to a small extent”) to 5 (“to a large extent”). Three responses are too few to draw firm conclusions, but it is worth noting that those who know HF best lean towards more appointed representatives. One response also suggested reducing the number of permanent student members in HF. This lies outside the scope of this proposal, but will be taken into account in the further assessment of the organisational structure. The working group’s assessment The working group sees clear interest in increasing the number of appointed external representatives, both within HF and among the other boards. The few responses from members point in the same direction. Emphasis is placed on predictability: that HF gets board members who are suited to carry out the work required. It is therefore recommended to increase the number of appointed external representatives by at least one (Proposal 1), or two (Proposal 2). The number of elected external representatives will be reduced correspondingly to ensure that the number of board members does not exceed 10.
Side 46 av 80
To ensure a rotation effect, the committee has assumed that appointed external representatives are approved in the spring on alternate occasions, while elected external representatives continue to be elected in the autumn. Should the number be increased to three, we have placed one appointed external representative in the spring of odd-numbered years and two in the spring of even-numbered years. This is both to avoid too many elections at the same time as the Board of UKA, and to ensure that there are always experienced appointed external representatives who have had time in the role and can support the work of UKA as well as possible once the Board of UKA has been elected. The proposals have some potential disadvantages that the GA should consider. First, the GA directly elects fewer of the external representatives. This is partly offset by the fact that the GA must approve the appointed representatives, but the more seats that are converted to appointed seats, the greater the disadvantage. Second, it becomes more likely that the chair or deputy chair is an appointed representative, as explained below. Finally, appointed representatives may remain on the board out of habit. The committee's proposal to justify each appointment, as described below, is intended to prevent this. Since 2020, the chair and deputy chair of HF have been elected external representatives. The Articles of Association do not state whether these positions should be filled by an elected or an appointed representative (§ 4.1.7), but it has been regarded as most democratic for it to be an elected one. With Proposal 2, the likelihood that the chair or deputy chair will be an appointed representative increases. This need not be a disadvantage. Appointed representatives often contribute continuity, have enjoyed trust over a longer period and are approved by the GA. It has nevertheless been pointed out that the chair role involves a great deal of administrative responsibility, and that it is less appropriate for representatives recruited for a specific expertise to spend their time on this. In addition to the changes in composition, the working group proposes that HF must explain why a candidate is appointed. HF must then consider which challenges the board faces over the next two years, and what expertise is needed to address them. This also prevents appointed representatives from remaining out of habit, and the board from becoming static without this being a conscious choice. It is perfectly fine to reappoint appointed representatives, but this must be justifiable to the GA. To make sure that we arrive at the best possible model, the committee wishes for an evaluation of how things have gone after the change to the board to be carried out before the end of 2028. This is proposed as part of the resolution if the amendment is adopted. This may form part of further assessments, such as an overall assessment of the organisational structure in line with the long-term strategy, section 3.3.2, point 2. Desired effects of the amendments The amendment is intended to make HF better able to manage Studentsamfunnet's finances and property in the long term. The points below are the effects the working group wishes to Side 47 av 80
achieve. They also form the basis for the report HF is to present to the GA no later than autumn 2028. 1. Better continuity. Students in Studentsamfunnet are replaced within a few years, and HF serves as the organisation's long-term memory. More appointed representatives and overlapping terms are intended to ensure that there are always experienced external members on the board. 2. Targeted expertise. HF should be able to bring in the expertise the board needs at any given time, for example in law, property or finance, and have several types of expertise at the same time without having to give up another. 3. More qualified candidates. Appointment is intended to make it easier to recruit competent people who do not wish to stand in an open election at the GA, and to make the board less vulnerable to popularity contests and the “face factor”. 4. Predictability. HF should know what expertise the board will have over the next two years, and be able to plan recruitment well in advance. 5. Stronger in partnerships. Studentsamfunnet works closely with the Norwegian University of Life Sciences (NMBU), Studentsamskipnaden i Ås (SiÅs) and other actors, such as Ås municipality. These have employees and therefore a different continuity in expertise and institutional knowledge than a student organisation. The change is intended to make Studentsamfunnet better equipped in these partnerships. 6. Better support for the boards and volunteers. Experienced external representatives should be able to support the Board of UKA and the other boards from the start, including when a new Board of UKA takes office. 7. Conscious and transparent use of appointment. HF must be accountable for the power the board is given. Each appointment must be justified to the GA, so that the GA retains insight and control, and HF has a conscious approach to what each seat is to be used for. In the 2028 report, HF should assess for each point whether the effect has been achieved, with concrete examples: what expertise has been brought in, how long the representatives have served, and how recruitment has gone. The report should also address the disadvantages described above. Proposed amendments •

8.4 Change of Articles of Association submitted by the Student Parliament Statute amendment proposal: to add the following new statute: § 4.5.11 Career Days and Student Council Meetings A Career Day shall not take place on the same day as a Student Council Meeting. Before the dates of the Career Days are decided, NU and the Student Parliament’s Student Board (AU) shall through dialogue make sure that the dates do not collide with any Student Council Meetings. If NU wishes to decide the dates of the Career Days before the Student Parliament have decided on dates for Student Council Meetings, then AU should propose for the Student Parliament to decide on dates for Student Council Meetings that do not collide with the dates of the Career Days.
Description of the statute amendment proposal: According to Studentsamfunnet’s Articles of Association, The Business Committee at NMBU (NU) shall host a Career Day twice a year. This autumn semester’s Career Day was hosted on Wednesday the 14th of October – at the same time as all the faculties of NMBU held their Student Council Meetings. In the spring semester, the Career Day fell on the 11th of February – again simultaneously with the Student Council Meetings. Last autumn, the Career Day was held on the 15th of October – and AGAIN it collided with the Student Council Meetings. That these events now have collided for three semesters in a row, is no surprise for us, considering that they have collided many times in the past as well. The purpose of this statute amendment proposal is to prevent such collisions from happening in the future, because they in our opinion neither need nor should happen. That one of the most important events for engaging students in the student democracy (the Student Council Meeting) collides with one of the most important events for the student’s exploration of the business world (the Career Day), is in our experience a major problem which causes us much despair. Many of the students we have talked with, both within and outside of the Student Councils, share our opinion of and despair over this problem. Hence, from our viewpoint it seems crucial to introduce a mechanism which makes sure that the Student Council Meetings no longer collide with the Career Days. This statute amendment proposal proposes to introduce exactly such a mechanism. From our perspective, the introduction of this statute seems to be a small and simple solution to a very big problem: NU and AU can simply talk together BEFORE they decide on dates for the Career Days and Student Council Meetings. Side 52 av 80
The dates of the Student Council Meetings are decided for a whole year at the time, and they are available on the front page of the Student Parliament’s website – hence NU have good time and much predictability to find a date which does not collide with Student Council Meetings. If NU would wish to decide on dates for the Career Days before the Student Parliament have decided their yearly plan of dates for the Student Council Meetings, then the statute amendment proposal proposes that AU should suggest for the Student Parliament to decide on dates for Student Council Meetings which do not collide with NU’s desired dates for the Career Days. In this way, both NU’s and the Student Parliament’s wishes are taken into consideration in the statute amendment proposal. We hope that this will be the last time a Career Day collides with a Student Council Meeting – so that also students who wish to engage themselves in the student democracy, may come to Career Days – and so that also students who wish to explore the business world, may attend Student Council Meetings. To put it in other words, we hope that the students no longer need to choose between two necessities, where one goes on expense of the other and vice versa.
The Board of House and Finance’s Response to the Motion Submitted by the Student Parliament We understand and share the concerns raised by the proposers. It is unfortunate when Career Day and student council meetings fall on the same day. Students should not have to choose between engaging in student democracy and getting to know the business community. We believe that student democracy and Studentsamfunnet in general should work to ensure that none of their events clash. Nevertheless, we do not believe that amending the Articles of Association is the right solution. The Date Is Set Out in an Agreement with NMBU Career Day is not an event that NU is free to reschedule at will. Studentsamfunnet i Ås and NMBU have a separate agreement regarding the career fairs. The agreement states that the career fairs should preferably be held on “the second Wednesday in February and the third Wednesday in October”. NMBU has also made it clear to us that its main priority is to ensure that Career Day does not fall in the same week as Mental Health-Week. Career Day cannot be scheduled too late in October either. Many summer jobs have application deadlines around the end of October or beginning of November, and Career Day is intended to give students the opportunity to meet employers before applying. The Student Parliament’s Own Schedule for 2027 Conflicts with Career Day Side 53 av 80
The Student Parliament adopted its schedule for 2027 before the summer of 2026, more than a year in advance. Under the agreement with NMBU, the autumn career fair should preferably be held on the third Wednesday in October. In 2027, this falls on 20 October. Nevertheless, the student council meetings for autumn 2027 have been scheduled for that very date. It is also not easy to find an alternative date in October 2027. 27 October is too late, as many summer jobs have application deadlines shortly afterwards. 13 October could fall during Psykisk helse-uke, and 6 October is early in the semester. The student council meeting therefore falls on what is likely to be the most suitable date for Career Day in 2027. This shows that the scheduling conflicts are not solely NU’s responsibility. The date of Career Day has been known all along, but it was not taken into account when the Student Parliament planned its schedule. We do not point this out to assign blame to anyone. We do so because it demonstrates that the solution is better dialogue in both directions, rather than a bylaw that places the entire responsibility on NU. The Proposal Places the Entire Responsibility on NU Since the Student Parliament adopts its schedule more than a year in advance, NU would, in practice, always have to schedule its events around the Student Parliament’s calendar. The proposal includes a rule for situations in which NU sets the dates first, but this would almost never happen. When the proposal states that Career Day must not be held on the same day as a student council meeting, NU must choose between violating the Articles of Association and departing from the agreement with NMBU. As early as autumn 2027, NU would have to deviate from the agreement to accommodate a schedule that itself failed to take Career Day into account. Studentsamfunnet’s Articles of Association should not be able to override an agreement with NMBU in this way. NU Needs Flexibility This autumn’s Career Day was held on 14 October, the second Wednesday rather than the third Wednesday of the month. The agreement uses the word “preferably”, and we deliberately made use of that flexibility. On 14 October, there was a concert after the banquet, whereas there was no concert on 21 October. This made Career Day a more attractive offering for employers. A better offering for employers means more employers, and more relevant ones, for students, as well as more revenue for Studentsamfunnet. This illustrates why a fixed rule in the Articles of Association is not appropriate. Sometimes opportunities or constraints arise that make it beneficial to reschedule Career Day. NU must be able to assess what is best for students and Studentsamfunnet overall. At the same time, we recognise that this year we should have spoken with AU before changing the date. We will take this lesson forward. The Events Only Partially Overlap Side 54 av 80
Career Day runs until 15:30, approximately an hour and a half longer than the student council meeting. This means that students can, to some extent, attend both events. We know that many students also have lectures during this time, so this does not solve the problem entirely. Nevertheless, it shows that the scheduling conflict does not necessarily mean students have to forgo one event completely. Better Dialogue Is the Solution, not a New Bylaw We would welcome better and earlier dialogue with the Student Parliament and AU. However, we believe this is primarily a matter of NU and AU working together more effectively before dates are set. This does not require a new bylaw. Bylaws should establish overarching principles rather than micromanage details. Career Day is already governed by the agreement with NMBU. In our view, adding rules on date coordination between two bodies to the bylaws would constitute unnecessary micromanagement; this issue should instead be addressed through procedures and collaboration. Case 9 Informative Cases 9.1 Half-year accounts
Overall, the result for the first half of 2026 was negative. This is as expected, given that significant revenue is anticipated this autumn in connection with UKA and the Career Day. Furthermore, financial income will only be reflected in the annual financial statements. The accounts for Ringfesten had not been fully finalized by the time the half-year accounts were prepared, but ultimately ended up close to a break-even result.
