Appendix 2 – Candidate Booklet Case 10 - Election 10.1 The board of Samfunnet Leader Running for election: ✔ Oskar Solberg Lægland Presentation of Oskar Solberg Lægland Honorable General Assembly! My name is Oskar, I am 24 years old, and after nearly four fantastic years in Ås, I am running for the position of leader of the Samfunnsstyret. The student body is constantly changing, and it is important that Samfunnet remains a natural and attractive place for NMBU’s students. Targeted visibility efforts aimed at new students will play a central role in engaging them with Samfunnet. From day one, it should be natural for all students to use our beautiful building for meetings, study, social evenings, and as a safe venue for parties. A strong collaboration with the Buddy Week, the other student organizations, and NMBU is crucial to achieve this goal. In the long run, it can help more members move from simply being a member to actively joining a committee. Before long, Aud.Max. will close for renovations, and the larger parties and concerts are going to change. It is therefore essential to be ahead of this challenge, by offering good and dynamic alternatives that make it attractive to enjoy Samfunnet. Greater utilization of other rooms in the building, along with more flexible solutions, is key to ensuring that the Ås students continue to attend our parties. It is important that we do not lose the momentum that Samfunnet currently has during this construction process. Now is an excellent time to try out new ideas and be creative in how we organize our events.
From day one, I have been an engaged student here at NMBU. After just one week, I joined the bar committee, and since then I haven’t looked back. Over the past year, I have had the pleasure of serving as committee leader for bothsamfunnet and UKA, with responsibility for organizing parties. Through my role as OKD, I have gained valuable insight into how Samfunnet operates, the importance of and the roles played by the various committees, and not least, how much volunteers can accomplish through collaboration and determination. I am also very active in Student Democracy, currently serving as the President of the Student Parliament. Here I have gained considerable experience collaborating with NMBU, SiÅs, and other relevant people. With my broad experience in both strategic and organizational work at higher levels, as well as the practical knowledge from organizing both large and small parties, I believe I am well suited to address the challenges Samfunnet will face in the coming period. My motivation for a year full of exciting challenges and great collaborations is at its peak. I therefore hope that you will trust me to be the next leader of the Community Board.
