APPENDIX General Assembly 17.nov 2014
CASE 4.6 Preliminary report UKA 2014 Three weeks ago, Norway’s best and longest festival ended. Here is a short report with some indications over how things went. The main report, including the final accounting report will appear in march next year. The 27 days of UKA i Ås 2014 contained a total of 68 events for people of all ages. Most events were well attended. UKErevyen "Fôr fanden" was a huge success and the most popular event, with over 4000 visitors in total. The singleday-events that was most popular was the concerts with DDE, Staut and also the “UKEmarket”, with over 1500 attendants. That tell us something about the attendants here in ÅS, as these events were better attended than eg. The international stars Tinie Tempah and Ylvis. We are very pleased with the variety of the program and hope that the audience have the same opinion. The total number of paying guests was about 15,000, while the total number of visitors is closer to 20,000. We sold tickets for 200,000 kr more than last UKA. We also had a sales record in the bars, with a total sale of almost 2.7 million. To create a picture of how many beers sold during UKA (22131), imagine this: 3.5 laps around
Storebrand with beer cans standing close to each other. We are not 100 % sure of the exact profit made during UKA. The total profit will be announced together with the main report. However, we can assure you that UKA has not been in deficit this time either. UKA i Ås would never been realized without good cooperation. We therefore want to thank a lot of people. First, we have to thank the other "departments" of Samfunnet for a good dialogue and good assistance. Furthermore, we thank Siås and NMBU for cooperation and support, it has been invaluable. We also want to thank our sponsors! Finally, the most important aspect of this report: A million thanks to all the volunteers who have contributed to UKA i Ås 2014! During UKA, almost 1,200 volunteers put down about 80.000 hours of hard work. With committee leaders and board members, we are around 1250 people who has contributed to UKA. We also want to give a special thanks to all the social associations here in Ås. The enormous effort they put in building the “bozeloop” is outstanding. For us in the board of UKA, it has been wonderful to see so many people both enjoying and working during UKA i Ås 2014! Kristen Gjeterud Head of UKA i Ås 2014
