Our company was founded in Italy in 1942, in the middle of the second world war. To survive such a turbulent period, a company needs determination, plenty of ambition and a solid foundation on which to build. And it is a testament to our determination that, just ten years later, we were able to produce the very first four-wheel drive tractor powered by a diesel engine. SAME makes its own history.

With the passing of time our machines became ever more efficient, more advanced, with increased technological content, while still retaining the human dimension, being reliable and easy to operate. This balance of power and precision has enabled the company to gain international recognition and to export the value and prestige of Italian manufacturing throughout the world.

Seventy years have passed since we founded our marque and, throughout all that time, we have never ceased to invest in innovation. The restyling of our graphic logo launched this year underlines the fact that, at SAME, tradition always looks to the future.

On the occasion of the our 70th anniversary, our wish is to continue to improve and to never fall short of our customers’ expectations.

The perfect configuration for all tasks.

Adaptation is the very basis of evolution. And this is just as true in technology as it is in nature. And this is why the Virtus can be configured to suit the specific requirements of the user.

Thanks to a wide choice of optional equipment and accessories, livestock farmers can find in the Virtus all the tools they need to carry out their daily activities. The Tier 4i engines, the energy saving hydraulic system and the 40 km/h Eco transmission all help to keep operating costs down.

Contractors can configure the Virtus for maximum productivity: a highly flexible engine, 60+60 Powershift transmission that ensures that the optimum working speed is always available, and, for the most demanding operators, the Agrosky satellite guidance system.

The Virtus also meets the needs of medium-large farms with maximum versatility and high productivity: electronic linkage control, 4-speed P.T.O. and automatic control of front-wheel drive and differential lock engagement ensure speed, efficiency and operating comfort.

The SAME Virtus tractors with 4-cylinder Deutz common rail engines offer performance, reliability and low running costs.

The rated power is obtained at 2,200 rpm, and power delivery increases in line with the load up to the maximum 99 hp (Virtus 100), 110 hp (Virtus 110) and 122 hp (Virtus 120) at 2,000 rpm.

The new transmissions of the SAME Virtus give a choice of 4 different options, ranging from the mechanical 10 + 10 transmission (5 gears x 2 ranges) up to the HML 60 + 60

transmission with overspeed and proportional control (5 gears x 3 Powershift gears x 4 ranges) which enable the tractor to reach 40 km/h at economy engine speed, or 50 km/h where national speed limits allow.

All models and all versions are equipped as standard with a hydraulic Powershuttle with sensitivity control.

To provide a fitting response to anti-pollution legislation, SAME presents the new Fortis 150.4-160.4-150-160-180-190 tractors equipped with Tier 4i low environmental impact engines: thanks to SCR technology (Selective Catalytic Reduction) the new Deutz Tier 4i engines combine outstanding performance with low fuel consumption and reduced emissions.

Unparalleled comfort to ease the strain of long days in the field and make the everyday work experience pleasant and gratifying. Simplicity in driving functions, total visibility, luxury automotive comfort levels: all characteristics that SAME traditionally guarantees for all its tractors and that reach new heights in the Fortis range.

With SCR technology exhaust gas is subjected to posttreatment with AdBlue速, a 32.5% solution of urea in demineralised water, which is injected into the exhaust pipe upstream of the SCR catalytic converter and downstream of the engine. Heated by the exhaust gas, this product breaks down into ammonia and CO2. The NOx reacts with the ammonia in the catalytic converter and is transformed into harmless nitrogen and water vapour.

The AdBlue速 reservoir has been integrated in the fuel tank without affecting the capacity or changing the outer dimensions of the tractor.

From ploughing to road transport or combination work, powerful Iron3 tractors are designed for demanding and sophisticated users for operations on large acreage estates and for the heaviest duty applications.

Everything is automatically controlled by reliable, precision systems to maximise the tractor’s performance and function capabilities, guaranteeing not only tremendous efficiency but also a high level of comfort and ease of operation for the driver.

Iron³ is made even more functional by the reverse power shuttle, this allows easy forward-reverse changes and is ideal during headland turns or manoeuvres in confined spaces.

The shuttle also works on slopes and at speeds of up to 13 km/h and is controlled by a conveniently placed lever under the steering wheel, without having to press the clutch pedal.

Thanks to the high pressure common rail fuel injection system using two wet pumps immersed in the cylinder block, the engine is able to deliver consistently high levels of efficiency even in the toughest conditions. More precisely, the common rail system delivers maximum injection pressures up to 1600 bar, and this, combined with electronic engine management, ensures excellent torque rise even at low crankshaft speeds.

The instrumentation is comprehensive and easy to read, thanks to a dashboard arranged in three functional sections: one for gauges, one for warning lights and a digital display section with Performance Monitor.

The new full powershift transmission combines the advantages of the proven power shuttle with a top speed of 50 km/h (40 km/h at economy engine speed) and 24 powershift ratios (12 for each range). This means a smooth progression from 0 to 50 km/h (or 40 km/h ECO) in full powershift, with no break in power transmission. The EPB replaces the familiar handbrake lever installed on tractors. Piloted by the operator from an electric control in the cab, the controller is coupled directly to the parking brake linkage and generates maximum force of 4000 N.

Dependable 4 or 6-cylinder Deutz Tier 3 engines convert horsepower into productivity, operating in conjunction with efficient hi-tech systems like the 50 km/h* Powershift transmission, shift-on-the-go hydraulic shuttle and electronic hitch system with radar.

Innovative features dedicated to comfort, such as the new cab with self-adjusting suspension and automatic air conditioning, the operator seat with integrated multifunction joystick, and the cushioned front axle, all combine to provide the operator with a superior level of operating comfort and ease. The innovative Deutz electronic engine management system runs a continuous analysis on information received from the engine, from sensors and from the operator, and responds by delivering the power effectively at any given moment.

Operating the transmission is simple and intuitive thanks to a short-movement shift lever that allows swift and precise selection of the 24 forward and 8 reverse speeds (36+12 with creeper range), delivered from a 4-speed synchronized gearbox with 3 powershift ratios and 2 electrohydraulically operated ranges.

Iron models can be equipped with an open-centre hydraulic

system (61 or 75 l/min. pump), or a closed-centre system (83 l/min. variable displacement pump) with load sensing.

With a closed-centre system (available on “Hi-Line” versions only), pump flow is variable and adjusted automatically to implement demands.

The air conditioning and ventilation system keep the temperature in the cab constant at all times: numerous adjustable vents evenly located around the cab interior allow quick, efficient control of the internal temperature and keep the windows demisted. “Hi-Line” versions also feature an automatic air-conditioning system.

The transmission utilizes a 5-speed synchronized gearbox and is available in a number of configurations, adaptable

to different working needs. The high specification version includes Powershift, a creeper range, a hydraulic power shuttle, and offers an incredible 60 forward and reverse speeds: there’s no danger of being unable to find the right gear for the job! The Powershift transmission allows the operator to shift between 3 speeds in each gear without declutching. Once the right gear for the job has been chosen, all shifts between speeds are performed with the Powershift system simply by pressing two convenient buttons on the gear lever handle.

For operating rear implements, these models are equipped with a powerful electronic lift capable

of handling the heaviest of implements with absolute precision. All tractor and implement parameters are constantly monitored by the operator by means of a specific console offering draft control, position control, mixed and float control, with the additional functions of, lift height limitation and rate of drop control.

In any application where the ground speed of a tractor needs to be adapted readily to different working conditions, there can be no doubt that a continuously variable transmission is a great asset.

But more is needed. To be functional and efficient, a good CVT must also ensure that the speed of the P.T.O. shaft always remains constant and is independent of the tractor’s ground speed.

And it doesn’t end there. To be genuinely versatile, a machine with CVT must also be compact and agile, with no additional bulk, to ensure effortless manoeuvering in restricted spaces and inter-row channels. Add to these general attributes the facility of accelerating from 0 to 40 km/h in fully automatic mode (even at the economy engine speed of 1800 rpm), without needing to select the range, and of slowing or stopping simply at the touch of a pedal or joystick, precise working in confined locations, then we are clearly describing the SAME Silver³ Continuo.

Silver³ Continuo models are equipped with a modern 4-cylinder Deutz engine of the 2012 Tier 3 series, developed especially for agricultural use and offering consistently high levels of efficiency together with notable fuel economy. Thanks to its generous displacement (4038 cm³), innovative high pressure injection system and turbo-intercooled design, this engine is guaranteed to deliver significantly high power and torque over a wide range of engine speeds.

Driving at transport speed, for example, is an unprecedented experience, thanks to the quick, smooth acceleration, with the luxury of cruising at 40 km/h even with the engine running in economy mode (1800 rpm).

Viticulture Managing System is a new advanced, computerised and efficient system for the analysis, recognition and treatment of vineyards. In viticulture it is common to encounter large or small areas within the same vineyard having different soil composition and structure, diverse humidity levels, microclimate and light levels, to which the vine responds with varying degrees of vegetative development.

VMS allows modern viticulture businesses to enhance the level of care for their vineyards significantly, with substantial economic benefits and a higher level of environmental sustainability. This means it is now possible to rationalise the number of operations in the field, concentrating them exclusively where they are needed, and effectively creating a perfectly designed chain to guarantee the quality of the product and, in summary, to offer an absolute guarantee for consumers. SAME VMS can also be fitted with “Guardian”, an integrated overturning prevention device. The level of stability is constantly displayed on the tractor monitor; if a hazardous situation arises Guardian will immediately alert the operator to the cause.
